I like On Use, but the On Use stuff they’ve been designing lately is pure garbage.
On Use = 1 billion mastery or 1 billion main stat, there is no other choice other than Queen’s Mandate which is only good for people who can’t use Spymaster’s and Skardyn’s or it’s good for everyone, in which case Blizzard expects you to use 2 On Use trinkets? I dunno anymore. Confusing, misleading company.
I like to have 1 on use if it’s good, and the other something that is passive/stat stick.
I’ll always prefer passive effects… I’m not a fan of on use items, never have been.
Blizzard reduced the effectiveness of “DPS trinkets” for tanks to encourage tanks to use tanking trinkets.
Blizzard continues to refuse to make good tanking trinkets.
So I would prefer it if Blizzard actually made tanking trinkets, after nerfing the current trinkets to try and get us to use tanking trinkets. Which do not exist.
Passive is the worst.
Find the weak aura…
Wait for it to proc…
Use that small burst window…
Then it procs when everything is on cd…
as others said, passives. no need to juggle then or clog my bar with them

Passive, but yeah macros otherwise. Sometimes the on use has to be manual though (PvP).
are you trolling me now? =S
More wondering what we’re supposed to do with passive trinkets if we don’t have cooldowns or heavy-hitting moves to combine them with.
what I am trying to say you cannot manipulate the passives, but the active ones you can.
like silken court damage ramp phases.

One Use (1min or 2min CD), one passive non-proc.
I really kind of hate procs, because as someone who doesn’t flood his screen with addons (or even use any at all), I can never line them up with my CDs.
Usually passive effects, I have so many key bindings already, that I don’t want to have to use more. But I play In Cata, so I’m not sure how cluttered my bars would be in retail.
Passive. One less button to press is fine by me.

I’d rather the trinket slot be like heart of azeroth, onyx annulet, siren isle ring or korthia gems.
Once m+ was added trinkets lost their mystique to me, having 20 options every tier with 1-5 clear winners just feels worse than 5 options with 1-2. I get that the ratio is the same but having 15 useless trinkets just feels inadequate, there’s hardly any circumstantial reason to use off meta, some trinkets are conceptually fun (hook from aberrus) but locking them all under the same slot just ruins it for me, yeah I’ll use the fun trinkets here or there, but I’d rather have the ability to equip 3 trinkets, but forced to have two passive and one on use.
Always passives. There aren’t enough buttons on the UI for abilities as is, I’m not adding more.

1 passive and one on use is my go-to.
Depending on the season/overlap sometimes two on use.
Used to be full passive but the burst power too strong for on use.
Passive and Stat sticks
On use is fine if I can macro it to my CDs.
I absolutely HATE the on use trinkets that you have to stop and cast or channel. DF had multiple and I hated all of them.
Really depends on the design of the specific on use. If it is something that is going to be effective when macro-d with something else then I don’t really see the point in it existing as an on-use. If its something that requires people to keep their brain switched-on to use effectively then that can be fun.
This is it. The shadowlands bear that ran in from off screen. BFA had a shark attack trinket. God i loved those things.
