Trinkets. Do you prefer on use, passive effects, or stat sticks

I prefer passive trinkets. Or on use damage trinkets.

What I dont like are On use Stat Increase Trinket. Because they just end up being something you have to min/max into your CD’s at the optimal time.

Passive proc stat increases are fine. You feel a little positive feedback when dealing damage.

Proc Based Damage trinkets and items are kind of meh. Its just extra damage you cant control.

1 on use 1 passive is the perfect balance. 2 on use feels bad, 2 passive is also lame.

Generally speaking I prefer low gimmick trinkets that have a relatively straightforward effect. More times than not the trinkets that have a really weird on-use or passive effect are annoying to use and often not that good.

passive

we have way too many RNG buttons already

Passive… stat stick trinkets are always weak, and the on use ones in my experience have always been traps… they can give you super high burst potential when you line them up with everything, but the CDs on them ultimately make them inferior to the random procs from the passive ones. And some on use ones are just flat out useless anyways…

Seedling was probably my favorite healing trinket ever.

Queen Mandate is good for old content though. Useful for one-shotting old raid bosses and skipping all their annoying mechanics.

Also useful for killing weaker things quickly.

Passive trinkets. I don’t need another keybind and I tend to forget to use on-use trinkets.

That is a good point, I can keep it for older content I need to do.

I’ve always preferred passive, but the macro is a good idea. Some visual effects on trinkets are really neat and others are awful, so I’d love some kind of a trinket effect transmog.

I prefer static or proc effects to on-use ones. Firstly, I don’t need another button in my class. Secondly, I just don’t like cooldowns in general. I’d prefer that my class be good all the time instead of only during the cooldown window.

I’m definitely pro 1 of each.
An on use to macro to a major cd and a passive.

I’ve never been a fan of just plain stat sticks. At least passives have some flavor to them.

One strong on-use trinket is enough for me.

I like a mix of 1 on use and 1 stat stick.

I prefer one active and one passive/stat stick. I like having something to use when I burn all of my cool downs.

The age old combo. One on-use, and one passive. Macro the on-use into burst rotation for more control, keep the passive for fluidity and frequent buffs.

I prefer passives unless they can be lined up with Cooldowns.

I strongly prefer passive stat-stick trinkets. I already have enough things to keep track of without having to also keep track of a trinket proc, and I want to feel free to change trinkets whenever I want without the added baggage of having it change how I heal.

The only exception are mana trinkets, but it has to be one that returns enough mana to actually be worth using and it’s been a while since we had one of those.

I like passive. Less buttons.

I really like to use a combo of both, but the best ones for me are on use trinkets with multiple functions/effects.

So an item like Souletting Ruby do 4-5 things, that’s a very powerful and interesting trinket.
