Now I know usually for performance/dps/meters/logs the best combo is one on use and one stat stick. But speaking about fun here what do you guys like when it comes to trinkets?
Personally I forget on use so often I just macro them in with another ability. So for me I like two random proc passive effects that look neat or feel neat.
The pirate one from siren isle is pretty good for this, and I think the alltime favorites for me was deathbringer will from ICC, and DST from gruul.

I usually like passives. Just one less thing to juggle.
That said; Feral is the snapshotting class. So, if an on-use lines up well with my cooldowns, and is a really good DPS increase, I don’t mind running with one.

I like something that’s got a bit more to it than macro to your CDs. Soul letting ruby is probably my favourite trinket of all time.
Passive stat trinkets are cool too, if they work in an interesting but not convoluted way. Passive / active direct damage trinkets suck though and I hate when they’re strong.

I don’t mind on use if they line up with my cooldowns so I can just macro them, but generally prefer passive. The game has more than enough buttons already.

I usually try to find passives to use if possible. I get tired of them adding in more buttons to smash.

I’ve always been a fan of passive proc trinkets.
“has an insert percent change to do insert really cool thing with a nice graphic effect” type trinkets.

If defensive I perfer on use, if a stat buff and such I perfer passive.

I loved the seedling from S3/4 of DF, macro that baby to target the seedling and pummel it with healing and watch bars shoot up.
I thought I’d like the Oracle premonition version of this, but it’s not as cool.

I like to have 1 active and 1 passive trinket. I want the active one to macro easily and hit hard. Some trinkets I know aren’t best macros and should stay as their own button…but I think that only matters in high end keys and mythic raid. I don’t care than 1-2 seconds of my big cd are wasted as I do the “task” required by the treacherous transmitter for example.

Active trinkets are good and fun but it is just way too infuriating when it’s one that doesn’t line up with your main CD’s.
Manic Grieftorch has to be my favorite all time trinket though. My god that thing was fun.

On use trinkets can die in a fire.
Last thing I need is yet another cooldown to keep track of.

One non-channeled on-use, and one passive.
Ideally, the on-use trinket has a main-stat, crit, or haste buff.
I also like trinkets that have secondary stats serving as the main stat instead of a main stat.

I always go with passives.

Passives.
Tried out Queen’s Mandate or what’s it called, a trinket with a cast time? Ew, I’ve come from using the Candlestick trinket from delves this season but I prefer passive stuff.

That’s not actually true. It really depends on the class.
For Hunter double on use has been bis for this tier.
For lock in amirdrasil on use weapon and double on use trinket were bis.

You know you can macro them to major CDs right?

I thought Kil’jaeden’s Burning Wish was fun to use.

Yep for doing my delves, or low level dungeons, or world quests I don’t mind if my cooldowns and trinkets don’t line up
We had an addon that anytime someone died we whispered them “thanks for the grieftorch lil bro”
At the end of season 4 the addon was banned lol

Passive is always my preference, but if i have to go on use, i’ll go for something that has a CD that matches one of my major CD’s so i can macro it together and never think about it again.
I find that on-use is bad for me because i keep thinking that i’ll need to save it for the next big pull, but that next big pull never seems to happen and i end up only benefiting from them on boss fights when I’m guaranteed to pop all my CD’s lol
