u sound like ppl who try wow and cant play it cause of graphics lol
play around with your windowed mode. It looks tonnes better when you adjust it as it’s intended
I wouldn’t judge an entire game based off of the the very first content that came out in 2010.
Final fantasy is hot garbage, you can safely ignore the streamers and clowns all hopping on that bandwagon when they say it’s good because they are just still coping that WoW is somehow even worse than FF. That said New World is better than both of these by far at the moment.
thats cute people are playing ff14 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRYh9Zuj9Mg
You’re basing WoW not being the top MMORPG purely on bias. Even low estimates of WoWs active player base is a million higher then FF14 and thats not counting the WoW classic/ TBC community. https://mmo-population.com/top/2021
I get it you want the game you’re putting your flag into to be considered better then WoW but itll always just be a cheap knock off. Every company has problems and no ship is unsinkable. But this current scandal and the Covid-19 content draught are repairable and WoW has enough funds to make a hard swing back.
FF14 is only winning through Memes but like every game trend those players that left for FF14 will come back one by one just like what happened with every other MMO out there.
The WoW slayer hasn’t come yet because no new ground breaking innovations topped on with surmountable hype has occurred. WoW is the industry standard for MMOs no matter how much we hate it and the entire MMO genre is in a state that of a dumpster fire.
The ARR graphics are old, the expansions are a lot better.
CTRL+F - search Wildstar.
According to mmo-population, Wildstar still has players, despite their servers having been shut off.
Prove your claims then with better data then what I posted. If you’re basing it off your own bias then its pure speculation.
This logic has one HUGE flaw.
You’re equating player count with a game being good or the best in the genre.
Once you remove the sunk cost fallacy from players who have been playing for 15 years, how many do you think actually WANT to play WoW vs how many feel they NEED to play WoW.
WoW has felt like work for years and is one frequent reasons why I take so many breaks from the game.
FFXIV, GW2, ESO for example, don’t really feel like work to me. I can pick up where I left off and be totally fine in any of those games. The Daily/Weekly grind is nigh non-existent or barely noticeable.
This argument that more people playing means a better game is so flawed I only need to throw out two games and ask one question to debunk this whole argument.
Fortnite & Candy Crush.
Both games have more people playing them worldwide than WoW could ever dream.
Does more people playing your game make your game the best?
Is Fortnite the best shooter because it has more players than CoD, BF, CS:GO, Siege, etc.? Is that the hill you really want to die on.
The reality is, a lot of WoW players stick to WoW because they feel obligated to because they’ve put so much time into the game. They see their Bnet friendlist getting shorter and shorter as the last login times of people they played with all the time gets longer and longer.
I’ve seen and I know other have, famous raiding guilds on top servers slowly collapse as players leave the game. I’ve seen static groups fall apart because people leave and nobody can fill the slot.
Classic is so bad in lack of players and balance that they have Alliance only battleground queues now.
So please, don’t act like WoW is the best game in the genre anymore. It hasn’t been for years actually.
Other games have better stories. Other games have better classes. Other games have better crafting. Other games have better dungeons. Other games have better raids. Other games have better endgame. (WoW for example, got the idea from Mythic+ from GW2 fractals). Other games have better worlds, better communities, more friendly communities and less drama.
So no, WoW is not the best MMO. It simply has more people playing it than anything else, but as we’ve established, simply because you have more people does not mean your product is better.
I tried FFXIV and loved it. So much more casual friendly and best of all no idiotic system after Idiotic system after Idiotic system after Idiotic system to keep track of.
Valid points … and ya I have 8 years of my life in WoW . No way am I letting that go.
Same. I still have my original character from launch.
It’s hard to let go, but I find myself taking longer and longer breaks and actually enjoying my time and feeling happier in other mmos.
yeah Final Fantasy is pretty gross, i think Guild Wars 2 is so much better, i like WoW way too much to quit
At my age I don’t have the time to put years into another mmo . I started WoW when I was single in college . I am now married and I have 2 kids . I will play WoW till the servers are shut off .
I tried Everquest 2, too janky.
SWTOR, should have been a single player game
LOTRO, too old and now not gonna get more content.
DC Universe Online, even more repetitive and easier then WOW, and I feel the combat could use a better engine.
So on that front, ESO and GW2 are actually incredibly time efficient for people who have families and a life. FFXIV “can” be, but more so once you get past the base game.
Try tabletop gaming. It is a lot more fun than you think.
FFXIV isn’t a good game for WoW players who are used to no effort in story or dialogue and everything being about a dungeon queue lobby at endgame to endlessly grind purples.
