No. You are wrong. I did play long enough to decide I did not like it. You know how I know that? Because I didn’t freakin like it! I get to decide what I like and don’t, not you by making the rules for me.
The 14ish hours I spent did not have one single minute of excitement or wonder or that awe feeling. I was never taken back by what I saw or did or even once thought “wow this has potential.” Nothing, not one single thing hooked me. It was the most boring and uneventful 14 hours I have spent in gaming for a long time. And I didn’t sit in town for 1/2 the time. I was constantly on the move exploring as much as possible.
So yes. I decided based on what I like that the game sucks. Got it?

Yes, they absolutely can! If you don’t like it, don’t play it. Why make an entire thread about it, openly admitting you barely played it and say it’s “boring, terrible, etc”?
I know this thread is a bait thread but it was entertaining debunking it.

No it wasn’t bait. Just because you love the game and I didn’t doesn’t make it bait. People don’t like what you like sometimes. No matter what you say or do to convince them. That doesn’t mean they “just don’t get it”. It means they don’t like it. FF sucked for what I did. Get over it dude.

I don’t like CoD but I’m not going to make some bait thread in the CoD forums or subreddit talking about how I played it for 1 match then said “this game sucks”.

Regardless what you may call what you feel like calling, the “People who live in these forums” is not an argument.
When somebody tells me i’m being nonsensical or confused on what i’ve said, i pretty much need to.
I explain to people anyways whether they wanted it or not. Deal with it.

Likes are irrelevant and certainly not a shield to protect you if your wrong. You can have a lot of people like your comment and still be wrong.

And honestly, nobody should think the same way. People should form opinions from just about anywhere and share them. Regardless how much time they put into it. 
If somebody dislikes FF14 (or any game for that matter, even WoW) 2 days or 2 hours in, they should be allowed to dislike it if they dislike it and share that dislike. If you’re going to disallow that, then disallow the same thing for liking as well. Because there’s no different between disliking and liking.
Now if somebody is being paid to review the game, sure, you should be fair and play it all the way though. But this is just random comments on the internet. They are under no such obligation.

How can you claim that if you only played for a few hours? You didn’t even unlock your job or the real rotation. Healers in WOW can’t even ress until level 30 and have two spells they use.
You didn’t even give it a chance and you’re comparing it to maxed out WOW

For roles there are templates, yes. And it’s a really good idea. Each role has useful abilities and they just bunch them together instead of making each class have one. Melee DPS all get a stun instead of having one with storm bolt and one with kidney and one with leg sweep and one with cap totem. And it’s off the GCD.
But there is plenty of variation in the individual job feels.
No. The complaining about it started amping up before Stormblood because people were looking forward to the new Shirogane and new it would be a hot mess. People like to buy houses in good location and then mark them up to resell. We get enough of that IRL. lol
