Encouraging someone to be compassionate and empathetic is definitely not rude.

We are allowed to stand firm in our beliefs. We can reach out towards others. We don’t have to go down the lanes of debauchery. After a period of time, we are to separate from others who will not repent.

They did. Chat could not handle it. Much like you seem to have assumed someone was on the video because of their appearance and not their capability.
The person they were speaking ill of is a senior game designer(systems) and mathematician who has been at Blizzard many many years. They were one of the main people working on the talent system hence they were there to talk about what they personally made. I met him (how he presented at the time) back in 2018. Very very nice person and very smart. I adore his partner too. She is awesome.
That you, like some others, have made assumptions about the folks on the panel not being qualified, should make you do some reflection. Don’t assume things just because the media tries to tell you that qualified people “don’t look like that”.

This is an honest, genuine question. Has that person appeared on a single panel, or in a video, prior to Blizz’s PR debacle? It’s not say that there is a correlation, I’m simply curious. Honestly, I couldn’t care less either way. Anyone can be making this game, and as long as it’s playable for me, I’m good

What I meant is I don’t care what they look like or the sexual orientation. I’m satisfied if they’re qualified enough, so don’t go spiraling into your own world of social justice. I didn’t assume anything, I simply stated I don’t care about this stuff, and only if they’re good at their job.

I don’t know if they have or not. I would not have expected it earlier in their career, but they have been senior for a while now. It is possible they appeared on panels at Blizzcon before. Not sure how to check that. I also know when they did an MVP summit in 2018 that they were part of the team who met with us. So was Jackie who is in the video.

I was just curious. As a company, it would be smart of them to put someone like that at the forefront, especially if they’re an accomplished, long-term employee. I don’t think that fact should take away from their accolades though. It’s simply one facet of who they are. I think both sides like to cherry pick certain aspects of an individual to further their own narrative.

WoW community is pretty racist/sexist/whatever. Terrible people all around, but not everyone. Turns out, people are dicks whenever the consequences don’t follow them.
I wouldn’t worry too much; these hateful dinosaurs always get run over in the name of progress. The future will be more accepting, history has taught us this fact.
