That is completely out of context. I simply was making a joke on the fact that people in the media were claiming that people who weren’t vaxxed should be denied medical attention.
I’m not claiming this, nor is it relevant to anything I’ve said.
Given what I actually meant, it is equatable, but I didn’t bother to flesh it out. I wasn’t trying to relive that period in time on here lol. But, it is on me for not explaining that portion properly, so I apologize for the confusion
I hope you know at this point that I’m really not against people being who they are. I think it sucks that we live in a world where that’s even really a talking point. That is has to be some sort of deal—big or small.
They were a senior systems designer talking about systems…
Not directed at you specifically but I’m kinda tired of everyone assuming that LGTBQ workers are used as props or to fill quotas. As someone who is majoring in Animation and VFX and minoring in Game Development right now I can safely say that there are more LGBTQ people in my classes than not lol.
Oh give me a break. If you can’t handle being criticized for looking differently than others, then either grow some thicker skin, or don’t go in front of a big internet audience. You know how people are going to react, and bashing them for having different opinions than your own bubble is ridiculous.
Once again bigotry isn’t a difference of opinions.
You or anyone else being mad at LGBTQ+ people existing commenting saying what ever you want to say now being mad you’re being called out as not acceptable behavior is kind of ironic isn’t it.
Because what’s being said rn in response to unacceptable behavior is just that, it was unacceptable. But that’s what has you all upset? Not the things bigots said? That’s just stuff that’s okay in your book because (?). But the second someone says that’s unacceptable behavior you get awfully defensive and why? How is people calling it like they see it, awful behavior that in 2022 thank god isn’t acceptable but what bigots are saying you think people just need thicker skin? Perhaps you and others who want to say these things need thicker skin if accountability catching up to you has you worked up.
This thread is not about in-gave behavior. It is about how the chat community on Twitch/Youtube, and streams, spewed vile things including death wishes when a Dev who presents as gender fluid or trans was on the video talking about the talent tree work they did as a senior game systems designer.
The person never mentioned their choices or anything else. They were simply on camera - talking about game development for Dragonflight systems. Then the hate rolled in because apparently people are triggered by seeing someone like that. They can’t just go “not my thing, but you do you”.
Spewing hatred as people for just existing is not ok.
to be fair they were pretty unfortunate looking and have a pretty bad twitter presence. people make rude and unasked for comments about biological women’s appearances and say abuses towards them all the time. Don’t they want to be treated like women lol? or are they supposed to be treated with kid gloves for being so brave for existing. so infantilization.
You learn to ignore it and let it run off your shoulders because if you make a huge scene about it you just attract more attention to yourself. I think trans people should make a point to understand and learn this pronto.
Alright, no offense, but i need to stop you right here.
What i’m saying isn’t “All lives matter”. It’s not meant to take away from the need of prioritization because as i said before, while we all have it bad, non-white/straight/males have it worse. I’m saying “No bigotry towards anybody, or everybody”.
It’s to acknowledge that we have a bit of an internal problem regarding extremists like Stargazer, who seem to assume this fallacious thinking of “either you agree with me or you’re a bigoted”… while being the very thing they disagree with… in a position where they are looked upon as they know about hatred. Thing is, you can prioritize where you need to defeat bigotry the most without discriminating the other. Infact, that should be the point. Being trying to fight hatred with more hatred… will just lead to more hatred and the fighting you’ve been doing will all be for naught.
Infact, my previous comment sums this up pretty well.
There is nothing wrong with fighting for things to be better. I remember some very famous people who advocated for the poor, sick, homeless, cast out lepers, immigrants, etc.
I think you remember, you were just talking about it earlier right? (I think have the right person)
I don’t have to just accept that people can’t change for the better. That they can’t just let others live their lives and be happy.
Hey man, I’m with you here. Perhaps I worded my comment poorly, but what I meant to convey was that this supposedly tolerant crowd turns bigoted as soon as someone starts talking about the issues of straight, white people.
You do you. I hope you’re right, but human history has proven otherwise. So long as we have free will and sin natures, and an evil god satan of this world running the show, I won’t be holding my breath.
