Transfer Restrictions and Free Character Transfers Now Available -- Updated Nov. 22

Tell us that “Sulfuras is almost full” is useless information to us without disclosing some sort of faction info. Great, it’s almost full! Of Horde! Sucks for any Alliance that decided to move there…

This is half the reason more people aren’t taking advantage of the transfers. No one wants to risk their game experience on a huge faction imbalance…that they’ll ultimately need to pay in order to fix later.

Imagine simping for a company you pay money to

You guys knew this would happen, you knew how popular wrath would be, but still choose to ignore it. Now your going to mess up everyone who has already spent money on the servers and built bonds in the guild already. This is a huge middle finger.

when hasnt a launch of theres been though tbh?

ONE BIG FLAW in the free character transfer, it does not include a confirm your choice button. I was greeted several times with an error saying it could not be completed. On retail and regular transferring they prompt you to confirm you wish to continue with this action. When I attempted the transfer to Earikis from Benediction I was not asked to confirm. I was given the error messaged and I logged off because I still had a 12k queue to get through. Low and behold my character is now on Earikis after being told there was an error and the action could not be completed.

how long did it take? I just made a post asking about this exact question like 1 min ago

My entire guild paid money to move when your go anywhere transfers killed our server. We have seen what happens so FOTM servers, they die, sorry they unalive themselves. We came here to Faerlina to continue to play with people.
You speak of numbers now, show us the numbers from the middle of TBC when all these people paid you for the moves.
A lot of us watched our servers slowly fall into nothing WE DONT WANT TO GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN.
And these FOTM, yes FOTM servers except mabe a single will fallow the same path.
The data is there, it has happen time and time again with the cyclical nature of Warcraft.
If a technological fix is not possible then a change is need because forcing people to leave now only to pay for another transfer later is reprehensible.
What if any assurances could you possibly give the thousands of us that had a server die out from underneath us that the same thing wont be allowed to happen again?

Can you read english? Ironforge says there are 1757 players in total on the server, which I repeated, horde being 97.3% of the total, what is so hard to understand about that? The server has no one on it. as of their last snapshot, only 48 alliance on whole server lol.

How difficult would it be to make a server 2 for the mega-servers, then have them share the same realm? Basically cross-realm play, but only for Benediction 1&2 , Faerlina 1&2 etc?

again, imagine thinking outside of the box again!

yeah just add cross realm guilds, cross realm servers, war mode. You’ve proven you can’t do your job in classic. Retail team at least makes the game work

so you take 150+ dollars of my money to transfer off a dead realm. you let me go to a realm thats thriving then tell me sorry we let too many people here. go to this realm that may die then you can pay to transfer back! this is pathetic. i also unsubbed both my accounts ill find something else to play.

Do you even know how ironforge works?

Ironforge only shows LOGGED raiders. It does not show TOTAL population.

  • That does not account for anyone who raided that was not logged
  • Anyone who is leveling, as they wouldn’t be raiding
  • anyone who is 70 that just simply did not raid

This server WAS dead prior to them offering it as a transfer option. Opening up transfers has boosted the server on horde and alliance side. My guildmate just did a scan using the census addon to show there’s roughly 4,500 ALLIANCE online RIGHT NOW ALONE. And this server is horde dominant by almost double meaning online amount of horde right now is likely between 7-9k. Their last snapshot shows how things were PRIOR to all the transfers and once again, only keeps track of players who were raiding and had their raid logged.

Do yourself a favor and start using wowclassicpop it’s a website that tracks data gathered through the census addon. This server within the last 7 days is 56:44, horde dominant. Over 50,000 unique characters scanned within the last 7 days.

This was what I was thinking as well when reading his post. Hell, my kids would eat waffles and M&Ms every meal if I let them. It’s my responsibility to ensure balance in their diets. The same way Aggrend and his team are responsible for the balance and health of their servers. I don’t get how there wasn’t Application Insights, monitoring, data analytics, and trend analysis going on that would have warned them this was coming. I’m surprised they don’t have automatic locks for factions/realms to help keep them balanced.

When these mega-realms started to emerge last year" – what, you don’t have control over your own servers? They just emerged? This is called mismanagement.

"fear of breaking up friend groups and restricting player freedom. ” – the very thing you feared, you created ten fold by your own actions or lack thereof.

And then to top it all off, Aggrend lays it at the feet of his paying customers to solve the problem for them by transferring. Like you said explaining your side of it: “It ain’t that easy.”
