Is there are limit to how many characters you can transfer using this free transfer method?
So, Iām looking into transferring to get out of these horrid queues.
I take a look at Sulfuras, heavily horde dominated, with Faerlina funneled into it as well as my server, Benedictionā¦
Alliance is still basically dead.
Old Blanchy has like 300 total people as of August 20th or w/e. And even IF people risked transferring there, not that many, and probably not of a caliber I would want to foster/raid with.
Why not give us actual options with a base population to build off of?

This is just frustrating. Honestly. If they opened Westfall Iād take it. 2k population + free transfers wouldnāt be too bad. Back in the day a 2-3k server pop was functional.
Unfortunate, Was hoping that some of my friends would be able to run dungeons alongside me this weekend and meet my new guild members. Hoping the restrictions arenāt too long, was really looking forward to playing my warlock again after some time.
Blizzard should make the transfers more attractive with additional bonuses for transferring.
How about if you transfer all of your characters from Benediction to Sulfurus/Old Blanchy you get 1 Free Character Boost (58 or 70) or something else?
As it is, thereās too much risk in transferring now, but with additional incentives, more people would bite the bullet.
Another thought, maybe you could sign up for a transfer that only triggers if 2000 or so people from your faction also sign up? That way you have some small assurance itās not going to be completely dead.

Actually, itās more like saying this problem will go away pretty quickly. Maybe even before they are able to come up with a solution, and itās less likely to resurface in as impactful a way as we move forward.
So, basically itās diminishing returns on a very expensive problem to fix that we already have workarounds for.
There may not be much incentive for Blizzard to further address queues at this point.
I was told to provide some feedback here by the GM I worked with, so I will do just that.
Here is my story:
My 70 character was automatically transferred to Sulfuras from a server that was being consolidated. No problem, now me and my guild-mates need to do one simple thing; Transfer to Mankirk. This is how that journey wentā¦
1. I went to transfer my character and was met with a āThis character is on cooldownā. The automatic transfer had somehow incurred a CD.
2. I put in a ticket to figure out why I was on CD, or how long the CD was.
3. GM responded and told me that the automatic server migration transfer shouldnāt have incurred a CD (some kind of error or glitch), and they would work to transfer my character.
4. They send me the link to this forum post saying Mankirk is now closed. [[BIG NOTE HERE: Mankirk was not yet closed when I went to transfer initially and put in the ticketā¦only in the following several hours did this forum post go up]]
AND The cherry on top
5. Mankirk is one of the few high pop servers that is NOT offering transfers back off of it for free.
So the state of things for my guild: Some of us transfered to Mankirk and are on cooldown to transfer again, some of us are stuck on a low-pop server, and we have no easy path forward to play togetherā¦aside from buying the collectors edition WOTLK bundle and boostingā¦ 
Despite Mankirk being locked you can still create/boost characters.
I really apologize for the long post but I wanted to put down in text my experience. My suggestion is this; if you are consolidating servers and forcing people to transfer, do NOT lock down realms ā or do so far in advance.

The options arent attractive at all and gives the pretention theyre trying to improve things.
Two non options. No win for anyone leaving, except no queues, but you have no one to play with.

Any clue when the transfer locks will be lifted? My SO has her character setup and waiting for me. Iād love to level with her during the pre-patch but my main is on another server 
If we had a heads up, I wouldāve transferred right away but there was no notice.

Blizz needs to forcibly split the mega servers.
Make players pick option A,B,C.
Players who wanna stick together pick the same option.
Close the original server to make them move
Itās the only way to fix the blunders from classic xfers

Looks to transfer characterā¦cant transfer character due to mail in mailboxā¦ Proceeds to wait 200+ minutes to delete mail from NPC in gameā¦
FIX THE SERVERS WE CAN TRANSFER 2 PLZ. Sulfuras is not a good server at all. The economy is scuffed players are subpar on their best day. We have how many server options on US East and you give us Sulf as the pvp option. The non pvp option is on US West serverā¦
Why are there only 2 server options open? 1 is a US West and 1 is US East??? Why did you only choose the most dead servers? Sulf is a baron wasteland with no players and no economy? Why are you holding players hostage to force them to play an MMO alone on an almost empty server?

It will probably just cause more people to quit pretty sad state atm unless they offer transfers to realms that arenāt completely dead no one is going to leave benediction is at 12k que today
I have friends that in the face of the situation I described above, are contemplating quitting. Iām sure there are many more.
It should not be this difficult to play with your friends. People want to give their money to be on a server, and canāt.
Guilds are getting stuck split between servers with no means to reconnect, friends are unable to play together, and itās just a sad state of things.

What I do find interesting is that you can still make characters in these crowded realms despite restrictions, The restrictions are there solely for que times and the fact that people are less likely to make new characters on the bigger servers if they have already invested into one.
I do like to point out that this is a temporary fix and with wrath being so close these que times can go on like this for weeks potentially. Not sure what the next move is for blizzard on that front, But from the looks of it, people are not happy at all.
