Honestly don’t know why this hasnt been done, and then locking the creation of horde until ally numbers bounce back up. Both are PVE servers so it’s not like WPVP will force ppl to transfer off like what happened to the PVP servers.

I’m in the minority, but… I am glad to be leaving Benediction behind.
I’m not a raider, I just like to farm, level alts, craft, and make gold.
The AH on Bene is completely busted, the queue times are ridiculous, the lag is horrid… so I am VERY happy to utilize this free transfer to a small realm, (which was what I was going to do anyway), so being able to do it for free, is great.
Already enjoying my new server and being able to level and farm in peace.

So this has created a huge issue for my friend group. Like they just transferred from Pagle to Benediction and I was going to follow him, but wasn’t able to do it at til today. So now, he has his toons stuck on benediction and mine are stuck on pagel. Is there ANY way to “refund” his tranfer or something? He even boosted his toon last night from WOTLK pack. Is there no way he can undo this? Because this patch legit just him waste over 100$

Absolutely the worst, most blatant money-hungry solution that anyone could imagine.
Free transfers to dead realms so that anyone who even does take it will have to pay to transfer off when they realize the mistake they’ve made. Open free transfers up to any server that isn’t locked if you even care to have a reasonable solution, but you’d rather have them pay to leave Benediction to go to a server like Westfall that might still have a chance at a healthy population.
Locking servers without queues (Pagle), so that guildmates that might want to rejoin their friends will have to pay for a level 70 boost just to get to level 80 in a reasonable amount of time.
This is yet another embarrassing attempt at realm consolidation on behalf of Blizzard, offering no real solution to anything other than their profit margins.

How many more times will it be an issue, and for how long that it’s worth spending resources on trying to solve it?
Seriously? I resubscribed my accounts thinking I could transfer my existing characters over and play with my friends… NOPE. Apparently, if you want to do that, you have to make a NEW CHARACTER and PAY FOR A BOOST on it.
What kind of backwards logic is this? I can still play on the server, I just can’t do it with my character I worked hard on? How does that make any sense whatsoever??? Ridiculous, unsubbing.

I strongly encourage Blizzard to discontinue the practice of tranfers wholesale. They are far too destructive a tool for casual application to realm communities. The game would be much healthier if you instead took a more active role in managing your server populations with prudent use of realm connections.
Pretty frustrated by this. I was able to transfer my character over on 8/30 but my wife couldn’t do it a few hours later? You say you will open this back up, but when? Before launch, after launch, when? Once you do open it back up, do you not anticipate the exact same issue recurring? I don’t know if I’m more frustrated that I paid for something that was free 24 hours later or if what I did is now blocked for others.
Why not address these insane server balance issues before you launch the prepatch? Now there is no real incentive to move and you have these mega servers with 99 percent of one faction. No one wants to move to a dead server.
A little planning or communication to the community could have went a long way here. These are not new issues. IMO, just open the floodgates in both directions and deal with the mess you made with layering/sharding.
As an afterthought, allowing people to create new characters on the server and then boost them feel pretty bad while you’re blocking xfers. I guess the cost differential wins out here huh.

This has to be one of the worst decisions ever made.
The prepatch just started. Launch is in a few weeks. People are moving guilds. Why in the world would you restrict transfers with NO WARNING?
My guild is now fragmented with 85% of us on Faerlina and 15% stuck on grob/whitemane/sulf.

As many as they need? This is like saying you are no longer trying to do something because you already tried several times with no success. Maybe look for a proper solution instead of keep trying the same thing over and over.

Big true, this really is inexcusable.
Man, screw you Blizz. I don’t wanna transfer to a trash tier dead server after you literally just closed all the trash tier dead servers and force transferred people off of them and screwd that up so bad that people were waiting almost a month to actually use their characters again. Offer the free transfers but don’t lock the realms. Maybe get the infrastructure to support the megaservers, or stop charging for transfers, because nobody wants to play on dead servers, and I guarantee you Sulfuras and Old Blanchy are gonna be dead by the end of the year.
I still cant figure out if this was a joke or not. The two destinations werent serious were they? Or are they honestly of the belief people are willing to hop to virtually dead servers?
A heads up prior to restricting transfers would have been nice. I wont be able to play with my guild/friends due to this now. This is the time everyone is coming back and transferring etc. What a god awful decision.
Honestly this is total bs. If this doesn’t lift before the WotLK hits I literally have no choice but to cancel my subscription. There’s no way I’m starting a new character.
From what I understand this goes against the Blizzard mentality that they want people to enjoy playing with your friends.
Just let me give you my money so I can actually play the game with the people I intended to play with.

With this sudden transfer restriction, now a guildmate and I are stuck in Grobbulus, unable to transfer to Faerlina with the rest of our guild. A raid is scheduled for this next Sunday.

Whitemane didn’t even have a que time! I have characters on that server I moved over to play with my friends and now I can’t move any more characters over. This is annoying.
Whata joke this is lol, you want me to transfer to a dead server while just days before you were taking peoples money to come to my current server (Benediction)? What kinda crap is this lol, are you all high?
