For me personally, most of my mogs are Vanilla, BC or Wrath mixed with an occasional updated (modern) piece, if it fits.
For the longest time I couldn’t figure out what it was that kept me going back to preferring those but I finally figured it out (mostly) sometime last year.
They aren’t shiny. Norman is typically seen in what he’s wearing now - which is very matte, very simple, clean lines, thin lines. I don’t like smooth/shiny/sparkly/thick drawn items and Vanilla, some BC and much of Wrath suits that just fine. I like the design of many of the modern items and gear, but they are either way too shiny / sparkly or just look way too bulky.
I rarely mog any daggers outside of Vanilla. As I pointed out in another post, I play mostly Gnomes and Dwarves - they are smaller in stature obviously. To me, modern daggers / modern gear, armor, etc - it makes these characters look even more comical than they already do. A dagger should not be as big as my torso.
There is an enormous database of items (armor/weapons) that either are no longer available to players or never were. As someone that rarely uses the new stuff, it would be great if I had access to more of the old stuff, which is what I like.
I also guess I don’t understand why they won’t give it to us? They don’t have to create any of it. It already exists. Just put it in the loot tables somewhere or make it available.
It’s such an easy win.
Most people don’t know but the Imperial Armor set, which is the classic Alliance Blue and White (silver) plate armor, has a pair of gauntlets in the database. They’ve just never been made available. WHY NOT? Just put it on a loot table!
A friend is running an April Fools themed event for the next week or so, and Thomas got changed back into a human, so he took off his armor for the first time in forty years. Forced vacation.
A devilsaur mount with 2 vendors on the flanks, a brutosaur mount, just without the vendors and 4 passenger seats, and a Kul’tiran-themed Hydra mount with 2 passengers, but mounted behind the driver, please and thank you.
