Toxic community and griefing

That’s the weirdest one. I hadn’t even started. I popped into the dungeon and then I was back into Org. I asked my husband and he was like, “You weren’t wearing shoes.”.

I moved on, but yeah…it irritated me.

There was a thread about the strangest reasons for kicking. One of them, the first…‘Vulpera’.

It happens.

Why wouldn’t it work? You think most people would intentionally give others the debuff anyway?

I know I wouldn’t give an underperformer or slow tank a debuff if given the choice. It couldn’t be any worse than the current system where everyone who gets kicked gets a debuff. Even if most people gave the debuff anyway, some wouldn’t and that would be an improvement.

i honestly could care less if someone kicks me from a leveling dungeon ill just hop on a my main and do dailies for half an hour because ive seen what the alternative is, lets look at this case

  1. the group thought he was pulling to slow, that is enough of a reason alone for them to kick
  2. he mentioned that he said something to the group, we dont know what that something is but i can bet you it didnt de-escalate the situation.
thats more than enough reason to kick someone from a group that is being annoying to the rest of the group. so in this case and in their eyes hes not the victim he is the source of the irratation.

Hold up. I don’t remember authorising your subroutines to change your mog. Are you going rogue AI on me, Mira?! :scream:

Because once people know that one gives a debuff and one does not, exactly which one do you think people would choose (because they can or it allows them to troll even more)??? Let’s not pretend the people who are abusing it would choose the non-debuff’d one.

Metrics are a better option, but most wouldn’t like it because it would interrupt their trollish antics.

It’s funny that you responded that way. I’m pretty sure you would be ticked, any reasonable person would be ticked.

But as for this case, I do believe that the OP was more concerned about the healer being able to keep up with their healing. I didn’t read anything about him being slow. That’s just been assumed by many.

Again, victim shaming. Most have assumed.

after all the comments, the solution that i have come up with was to switch back to dps and not play tank because according to that group and most of the people here in the forums i just suck. great job blizzard and community yall are so amazing…

When this happens to me when I’m tanking, I don’t say a word, I just start moving faster than them. Pedal to the metal. Eventually people will be okay with the pace and stop pulling 99% of the time.

I’d gladly have you as a tank.

Seriously, don’t pay attention to the forums.

Really simple solution:
1.) Place all party members involved on ignore. That way you’ll never see them again.
2.) Place Oneonex on ignore, preemptively, because he seems to be cut from the same cloth. That way you slightly lower your odds of it happening from him.

well they added M+ to the game and this is what happened people need to have 20 nameplates on the screen to attack or they internally scream

I’ve heard said and agree with an argument with this:

LFG should not exist exclusively for the “go fast, get levels, get points” crowd. People need to learn how to operate their class or role in a group environment, and the only tool for automated cross-server matchmaking is LFG.

If we say “LFG is only for point/xp farming” where do new players or players experimenting with new play styles go to learn their purpose in a group?

Metrics are hugely problematic. My suggestion of giving people the choice offers zero downsides and only positives. The worst possible scenario of every single person giving everyone the debuff results in no worse than the current situation.

Many times people kick someone for underperforming they have no ill-will toward that person, they just want things to go smoother or faster. I’m not a mind reader but I can say with certainty that at least 1 person would choose not to give an underperformer the debuff, me.

I had something like that happen to me as well in the past, OP. And anyone who defends this kind of behavior from pugs in the forums is in the wrong.

Again, people love to state their issues with no way to solve them

Explain how you would possibly control community behavior in a pug dungeon setting

My statement was in support of the OP and others who have had friction with the current LFG state. Proposing a solution would’ve been derailing OP’s topic so I kept it out. There are plenty of other threads on the topic.

Excatly, my wife and i feel the same. We then also get the complaints of " as a dps why are all my ques 15-30 mins long, we are waiting for a tank and healer." … this is why…

vwhy would i be mad at a video game? im literally playing it to waste time and relax if the game is no longer fun and relaxing i stop playing it. plain and simple. i dont care about being kicked for one because its extremely rare for it to happen and two i just dont care about that content enough to get mad. like i said there are plenty of things for me to do in game for half an hour.

it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out he was pulling to slow in the eyes of the group if they were going ahead and pulling mobs. you dont do that if the tank is moving at sufficient speed.

ok so you have a problem with people making the assumption that he was going to slow but now you are assuming the healer was having issues. considering it was a majority vote to kick him odd are the healer was part of that vote, could have been the odd man out sure but he could have also voted to kick the tank for being to slow.

funny how you immediately think he is the victim when we only have one side of the story weird how once again you make assumptions when they benefit you but dont like it when people do the same for their arguments. ive been on both sides of the fence you know what the correct way to handle that situation is? just play the game how you want, keep going at your pace and they will either die or the will survive and keep going to their pace. what you dont want to do is start an argument in chat and basically cement in your kick from the group. quite frankly once again i dont have this problem because if my group has time to type then we are moving to slow.
