And by players - some casual raiders, some pvpers, some dungeon heroes. Not some bleeding edge ex-method or something, which is already who ion caters to.
DH tank and i did both layer 3 last week at 150 item level, now the upper portal one at layer 3 and i cannot get past floor 4 at 160 item level. Getting hit for 10k with DS up, like wth ? I did the bottom portal one at layer 3 npâs. Just another system that isnât tested and tuned like it should be, indie dev and all with no money for real devs etc etc
Sorry Blizz this is very pathetic that you nerfâd solo tanks and heals, in an expansion that isnât very alt friendly nor alt spec friendly. This expansion is really starting to get to me, the maw is annoying and this tower is on the same level as annoying and making me not wanting to play WoW at all.
Until everyone needs to pay a metric tonne of gold to the premium guilds to do runs for people wanting LOOT, for whom this expansion seems to have been tuned for.
My biggest problem, trying out layer 6 this week to ease into the next two layers, is that the packs of trash with two elites facing each other (and other elite packs) can no longer be rooted and pulled without aggroing the other elite. This makes slow, surgical pulls impossible if I canât kill both at the same time. Their damage buff gets too high.
Last week, I soloâd both Torghast tiers on layer 6 as Venthyr feral, somewhere around 170-172 ilvl. It was a challenge and I had to be very careful with what I pull and how I killed things, and I enjoy trying to figure out how to handle the next pack and managing my CDs to not die to an elite.
This week, I died several times to layer 6 Fracture Chambers, but I did manage to clear the layer. Blizzard hotfixed the elite + nonelite packs for when I root them, I cannot separate the elites from one another without aggroing them, which stacks up their dmg modifier and they kill me very quickly. While I donât mind the extra damage, it was definitely a sign that I needed more gear at the very least.
Best of luck to all you DPS trying to solo these layers now. It will be much, much harder if you havenât geared up prior.
Yup, sub is ticking down, what could of been a thematically cool expansion has FOR ME turned out to be a drip fed, slog that is severely unrewarding.
Took a long time before I wondered why I was playing BFA.
This took pretty quickly. Leveling was nice, and I loved the art of the zones. Past 60 I started to see the stuff I didnât like.
Except Torghast for what it is already took enough / too much time. SO, from a business standpoint Iâd be wary that itâs causing my player base to want to disengage with the game⌠SO SO similar to many past systems Blizz implements as âchores.â
This week feels way too hard compared to last week. I understand a step up in difficulty, but that feels like a whole flight of steps.
If itâs meant for higher item levels, which is OK by me, then you should probably not be able to queue for it until you reach that level. At least then you wonât waste your time trying something that is out of reach.
I definitely agree, as it feels like everything in Shadowlands was designed in a way to prioritize keeping people logged on longer, with fun factor coming second. Sure some things are definitely still fun, but I highly doubt that was the priority.
Is it good design to have every floor blown through by every player on the first day it is released? Would that be a good solution?
Or should there be some scaling difficulty to work towards? This is a serious question, by the way.
except the maw actively discourages you and ultimately outright blocks you from spending too much time there once you max jailer aggroâŚ
You might have to interrupt and nuke with all ur CDs. Then fear for full length to let interrupt come back up, stun etc. Go hard. Leap away and LOS to buy time. Change talents etc.
Just theorizing as I donât know how the mentality of it works, but doesnât that instead encourage people to try and âcapâ that daily though? Leaving it open ended would allow for people to back out when they wanted without the feeling that they left something unfinished. Instead there is a very apparent âcapâ which ultimately leaves you feeling like you need to hit to have completed it that day, rather than just doing dailies and wrapping up in half an hour.
I have a serious question for all the crying that is going on in this thread. Have you purchased any of the permanent upgrades that Venâari offers?
Next question do you seriously think that m0 gear was going to cut in for the top layers?
Next question, which is more of a statement. There is a reason blizzard tapered the rewards. So instead of punishing all you casuals and locking the maximum amount of soulash behind layers 7 and 8, they did the reverse with the majority of soulash found on the basic floors of 1-5.
Lastly i have seen alot of players in dungeons that dont interrupt, that dont stun, that merrily stand in boss cleaves and generally ignore mechanics then wonder why they suck. Well ladies and gentlemen instead of complaining that the content is too hard lets have a little self reflection firstâŚ
but the point is that there is no commensurate reward for such a hassle and friction
you get a small amount of extra soul ash
the time vs reward vs fun ratios of torghast are all jacked up
Yeah I came straight here after the bullcrap run I tried to do in Torghast tonight. Like you canât even get through the first boss. I shouldnât be this fustrated in a game that I pay to play, since 2005! Looks like Iâm not getting that soul ash I need to craft my bracers I need for MM spec that cost me 250k on the AH. Wasted my gold.
Interesting analogy, almost like calling it throttled time gateing.
I think there are issues with Torghast, but Iâm still not understanding how were just over three weeks into the expansion and people are freaking out because they cant demolish every part of it already. None of us should be steamrolling it this early into the expansion. The biggest problem with it is it takes a long time usually and thereâs no real incentive to do this for an extended period of time for the little we can acquire in addition to soul ash.
In general, Iâd agree.
But thereâs a lot of mobs in there that Blizzard have completely missed the mark with that do absolutely obscene amounts of damage even if youâve got a kit with decent CC and interrupts, or mobs that just whittle you down if you lack things like a pet tank or strong self healing.
I managed to complete both wings on layer 8 already, but that was basically only through RNG blessing me and letting me dodge the Consular floor-bosses and having an incredible high-roll to deal wth Cromwell as my floor 6 boss.
Gear will help, but the biggest issues are ones you canât outgear, like simply not having enough kicks to deal with certain mechanic unless youâre playing something like a Prot Paladin.
Iâm playing a very geared, very strong class for Torghast. I shouldnât have to be resetting entire runs simply because one specific mob is the floor boss.
nice, glad to hear this. canât wait to check it out later this week!
I wonder if this is a push to try and force higher levels with group play until gear allows solo âcompsâ. Iâm picturing your interrupt issue and thinking that with another class able to kick well, that may be a non event - even factoring in the mob scaling with the additional body(ies). The group play component would dissuade carry groups because the other individual will be a needed body.
But again, I havenât experienced the new levels myself, so itâs all conjecture from me until then.
