I agree with you adroi. Problem is, people here want to argue over silly things over and over. Unfortunately, the wow forums are not a place to discuss wow, so much as they are a way to argue about things with a wow flavored skin. The regulars here at this point have chased out anyone who actually wants to talk about the game.
My recommendation is to just stop attempting to see this place as anything more than a jerry springeresque arena where people need to feel serperior to others for having the audacity to speak to people in earnest, and to find people you actually can talk to without the expectation they’ll nitpick everything you say.

For me, it is to see if they are alt swapping on the forums to make it seem like people agree with them. Which can be easily verified to be the case if the different toons have the same battle pet line up. Since that is account wide.
Which tends to happen far more often then you would think. Kinda sad actually.

Honestly speaking, you have other issues if people are actively stalking you. For the most part, anytime someone says this, I just assume they are lying.
No one here is important enough to have stalkers.

I just use the ignore function. It’s why I want account wide ignore. Even with like 50-100 people on the ignore list, I’d still see 75%? Of posts. The other 25% are just the trolls doing their thing.

People get mad over the dumbest reason. You literally are combating me on people deserving to have an extra line of security for example is one thing.
And if the information they gave in one thread is not the same topic as the other thread, you have 0 reason to bring up one thread in another thread.
Vetting someone on what you believe? What makes you think you have the power to dictate wether or not someone else’s OPINION is valid or not? Other than having your own opinion.

I think its valueable for others to know who they’re dealing with.
Like i said, i dont dismiss opinions but credibility matters.
If they are participating in the content they have an “opinion” on, it matters a lot more and contributes to a honest discussion.

When you don’t understand the issue at all, this is the kind of response you give.
No one is stalking anyone. It’s about knowing who is and isn’t the trolls. That’s it. We don’t all have a perfect frame of reference to come from and you can’t always give everyone the benefit of the doubt. You might be trying to have a conversation with someone and the entire time they are just trying to make a joke of you. If that person is hiding their main, it becomes obvious it wasn’t a good faith discussion and you can move on.
some hide to troll someone hide not to be trolled they not all bad just most
i used to like posting on my classic characters for representing the best version of the game but its become a troll haven so i just don’t anymore just a shame

Nah, I mean the ones who, legit, make things so far fetched it’s just a clown move.
I forget what war and is. I didn’t generally feel the need to hide. But I do understand people wanting to. There are trolls that also make their sole purpose to annoy that one person for whatever reason.
