Is this true?

The price someone sells a token into the AH for is locked in at the time of purchase while the price the AH sells it at floats.

So during wide market swings, if people are preferentially selling tokens at a high price while buyers (with gold) prefer to buy them at a low price, does this not break the 1:1 ratio?

I have never wasted gold on my sub I’d much rather spent $15 and keep my gold. Plus buy a token when they get this high to add even more gold.

I don’t actually think its fair to compare SL with DF population wise anymore. I’m increasingly convinced that even at SL’s lowest point, it still had far more players than at any time during DF. I base this on my own personal experience but also from the numbers i’m seeing coming out of the raiderio logs etc. Participation rates were orders of magnitude greater during SL than in DF. Just look at the number of raid clears for example.

I’m not sure where exactly DF went off the rails but something is seriously wrong with this expac. I could point out the failure of ZC of course but I don’t think that’s the main reason.

I thought about buying a token to sell on the AH, but why bother?

Unless you’re going to buy carries, what’s the point of that much gold?

Im buying sub on classic gold is super easy to make and tokens are dirt cheap

You’ll get way more for your gold if you wait until the first raid opens in 11.0. Token price always plummets after that.

Or it’s the damage done by SL and opening cinematic of DF. Wasn’t much hype from the trailer to pull people in and those that would’ve normally been able to be convinced to give the xpac a try were salty from SL. IMO until they added aug evoker they were on a steady pace to make DF solid. However, if you look back to pre-cata we had a lot of dead time after ICC. I think their formulaic patches in DF is an indicator more development resources are being put into the next xpac that might include a world revamp. They only like quadrupled in size and the content pace doesn’t reflect it, so i think they’re doing something big like cata.

Hello, I see you replied to the thread. Haha, I’m not sure you understand how it works! If I list a token for 400k gold and someone buys it a day later at, say, 380k gold, I still get 400k gold and now there is an extra 20k gold floating around, haha! There is no 1:1 ratio when the gold price is in constant flux throughout the day!

Except it won’t be. Your token will be sold for 400k before it sells any token for less than 400k.
