To Tinker H8ters

As stated, Tinkers are not fanfiction, they’re cannon to Warcraft, two races are led by them.

This take that Tinkers are some sort of community fabrication just shows a lack of Warcraft knowledge, history, lore, what have you.

Copium is a hell of a drug

why do you act like having less or more classes would change the fact Blizzard has a hard time balancing anything. Blizzard is terrible at balancing either way, it makes literally no difference, might as well just go down the path that gives us more classes instead of less.

Basic action economy. There things that can go wrong, the more will.

The issue is that “tinker” is pretty much covered already with the Engineering skill.

I dont follow, the game is more balanced now than it was in Classic/BC and either equally as balanced or more balanced compared to WotlK - Shadowlands; adding more classes has never definitively be shown to make the game more unbalanced after testing and assessing feedback to polish out bugs.

The entirely lifespan of the game has been unbalanced for all its life, but adding classes has never been an attributing factor to that, its simply Blizzards lack of ability to balance to that level that is desired by players in general.

all the ridiculous class builds people have been dreaming up are.

the whole concept of tinkers is dumb and I hope we never see them

I see you haven’t changed.

At all.

Remove Engineering. Make it the tinker class. They’ve always tried to do “fun” things with engineering but it inevitably gets nerfed/removed because if it’s too powerful then everyone will just be an engineer.

Hi. Yes, I have.

Your talking points are several years out of date; you’re describing both DK and DH tanks, both of whom have higher HP and heal better than bears. Meanwhile, a Warrior tank not only heals way more than a bear tank, but a Warrior standing there /afk has more armor than a bear using Ironfur. So much for “stack/rotate flat DR”.

Bears don’t bring any utility apart from Soothe and Stampeding Roar, both of which are also available to Resto, Balance, and Feral Druids. Generally Resto since they’re also exceptional healers, whereas bears are the worst tanks. So bringing a bear for those 2 spells you could get from an amazing healer instead would be the height of stupidity.

(Not even counting battle rez since a DK or now Paladin tank can bring that too, and you get a much better tank as part of the bargain.

You obviously haven’t.

No more classes until Blizzard can handle the ones they already have. Start by fixing bears. The 10.0.5 “revamp” for bears made the spec far worse, because Blizzard doesn’t have the capability to handle the current roster of classes and specs. Adding more is the LAST thing they should do.

I literally said it was tech. That’s not their base.

No. They can use bows and still have the same abilities. That’s not tech. Have you ever even played a hunter?

Nope.

Nope.

Nope. Way more than just guns.

Nope. You’re being reductive by saying engineering is the same as what a Tinker would do. You haven’t played WC3 or HoTs. You literally started the conversation by saying it was fanfic lmao

No one is using engineering as their primary or even their secondary attacks. In fact, in all the years I’ve been playing the only thing engineering I see used are mounts and gliders, not much else.

Yeah, we’ve all heard this before. They had BFA and SL with no new classes, and you’re all still saying it. Wake up. Blizzard can’t balance everything, regardless of how many classes there are.

Who’s talking about balance? I’m certainly not.

I’m just talking about finishing the class designs. They can’t even do that.

Correct. They can’t. Maybe if they didn’t reinvent classes every expansion they could. After 18 years they should be doing tweaks and such, not full on revamps.

Imagine if Blizz since Vanilla stuck with one vision for classes, tuned them all, then just pumped out new classes every xpac and tuned them up to the others. That’s where we should be. Instead they can’t even decide what to do with trees/talents or class themes.

They’re still juggling after 18 years, when they should be ironing.

PS - Blizz’s inability to balance is why I think HoTs failed. There was no consistency.

Hard to hate what doesn’t exist.

Also it’s talked about too much. It’s annoying now.

It’s a crap idea and no one has ever made a remotely interesting concept for it

Three major things, for me:

One, it’s too close to Engineer, as a profession.

Two, it’s too close to Hunter, as a class.

Three, I am like 80% sure it’s majority a Gnomish and Goblin class. Human and Orc tinkers? Sure, but what about elves who predominantly use magic?

Then, if this class WAS implemented, you’d 100% see more Blood Elf tinkers running around than Gnomes and Goblins.

It would destroy the class, unless it was locked into those races, upon which, it wouldn’t be played because they are unpopular races.

As much as I HATE Demon Hunters and wouldn’t play one even if you forced me to, I still have to admit having an elf-only class works out, because of how popular elves are.

It sucks enjoying what’s unpopular, but I’ve gotten used to it, lol.

The same was said about Death Knights. I literally sat in line at a midnight sale for Wotlk with people talking about how they were dumb and didn’t belong in WoW.

Just say you don’t know what a Tinker is.

Do you confuse Gazlowe or Mekkatorque for a hunter?

I’ve played an Engineer in GW2, I’d like to think that’s pretty close? It had turrets and flamethrowers and net guns and stuff like that.

Have you seen WoW’s Survival Hunter’s wildfire bombs and shrapnel grenades? They use a harpoon as well, and GW2’s Engineer also had a harpoon gun.

And I assume it uses a gun, only Hunters use those.

Marksmanship, yes, sure why not.

It’s not like Kel’Thuzad, the lich/necromancer, is a playable DK or anything, as he wears cloth. He’s not a Death Knight, at all.

Not every leader/NPC directly translates into player classes.

Didn’t they get an exclusive hero class?

Tinker threads are the new High Elf threads.

And if Blizzard gives them an inch, they will most definitely take a mile – Mark my words: Even if they got tinker - It will never,

NEVER

– Be good enough.
