To people who refuse to do dungeons, even normal…why?

I only ever do back to back M+ dungoens. I have not touched any other difficulty this whole epxac and i dont plan to. Thats the best way to assure you run with a group of friends and people who want to be there, are dedicated to getting it done and wont screw up. Zero wipes this entire expac.

I have been seeing a lot of that lately. I see it a lot in Classic to which makes no sense. You can make it here in retail without doing dungeons, but in Classic no dungeons means you will really suffer.

The current state of the game encourages player isolation more and more every epxac. I only do Ms because that way I get a group of people who talk to eachother.

I dont understand this thread. I have never seen any kind of toxicity in low difficulty dungeons. You would have to aggroo half the SL dungeon to be remotely close to die lol

I never saw it when I played classic. Most people didn’t do dungeons and didn’t complain about having to do one, because for most people they were optional. Most people didn’t raid.

I have, but mostly it’s players who are in such a hurry they don’t have time to do 3 seconds of mechanics, because that’s 3 seconds of their lives they will never get back.

Well, I guess you do you?

Grats on your success?

thanks.
Hopefully you will have one too… or maybe not.

I just haven’t. Ever, Tanks do not care abouy how much aggro there is, healer are just spamming one heal anyway and dps just spam anything and every mob dies.

Imagine making a post about this.

I love playing alone most of the time. I do not take up other ppls time and I like to be in my own head space doing my own things. I do love being around real ppl tho - so an mmo suits me.

Also, M+ has poisoned ez clap normal/herioc/tw dungeons. IMAGINE getting sweaty in such ez content. I don’t wanna skip. I don’t wanna pull 1/2 the dungeon. I wanna enjoy the sights, make some small talk.

last time i entered a dungeon, i was trapped there for 5 years. never again

You are so right. Perfectly said. I’d give you a “like” if I hadn’t run out of them earlier today.

I don’t because most pugs want to rush through it, and I really don’t want to do that on my first visit. So, I just stopped doing dungeons until I can solo them…if there’s no mechanic that stops me. I also really only want to do them if there’s a transmog I want, and I am in no hurry for any particular transmog these days.

I am going to be honest; I don’t really like to do group content these days with people I don’t know. It isn’t because the content is hard. It is just because I have seen one to many random groups tear each other apart over the smallest mistake and I am just tired of it. The difficultly doesn’t matter. To some people you make a mistake it is the end of their world.

I have not run a dungeon since legion, unless its an ultimate requirement for flying. I just hate them.
The mechanics are too much for me to remember all the time
they make me feel ‘trapped’ somehow - ptsd -
I run tank, ALL the time, have no interest really in anything else…groups are generally not very forgiving to the tank
they are just annoying. I mean, if someone likes to run them, cool, go for it…but me? nah…would rather just avoid until I can 1 shot everything as i go thru it…

you’re going to need to elaborate on this one. How does being designed around mythic+ = unfun in the none mythic versions? How does the Esport side of this take away from it if you’re not participating in the Esport. You’re comment is very vague

You work an 8 to 10 hour shift. You get home and relax. You want to get some wow time in. You can’t wait to get your story you’ve worked on for ages to the end.
In order to progress with your campaign you now have to do a dungeon. You sit in the queue for 40 minutes or longer.

Then you finally get in, the tank leaves.

You have to wait for a new tank. You get the new tank, then the heals leaves when they get the trinket or other piece they wanted, and don’t want to finish the run.

Or another scenario, the tank pulls everything, kills everyone then leaves. Then the rest of the group is so pissed off by then they leave. Then you’ve wasted 40 minutes or more for nothing.

For Blizzard to force players to go through that garbage for campaign progression is brutal and ridiculous. Has nothing to do with social awkwardness.

I’ve played wow a long time and I use to LOVE doing dungeons. I would do PUG groups for many hours and be very happy. My experience with PUG’s have changed since Legion, to the point that I no longer enjoy PUG’s at all. In fact, I have only done one Shadowlands dungeon and hated it.

You want to know WHY my love of PUG’s has soured? It boils down to the “go go GO!” attitude and the toxic temperament of too many players. Specifically the juvenile name calling, belligerent language, and surprise kicks for no good reason. I cant believe that anyone is willing to subject themselves to all that stress just to get a few gold.

I haven’t done dungeons regularly in years because how much has changed. Most of my family just does it one time and be done with it.

  • Heirloom gear is weak
  • Rewards are either non-existent or a person gets two
  • End-rewards for doing dungeons is weak
  • Community is toxic and undesirable which feeds into the boosting aspect where you have to pay gold to have a “great gameplay experience”

Nah, no one has to elaborate beyond what has been already stated.

No one has to prove anything to you about why they don’t like dungeons. Just learn to accept it, and move on.

If you truly care, lobby the CC or blizz devs or offer up some solutions. The problems are pretty clear. It’s not an enjoyable experience for many.

That’s why it’s so puzzling why Blizz puts all this effort in trying to force the majority of players into content they don’t want to do. Making dungeons tedious races against the clock is also not that popular it would seem.

Calm down. Nobody is demanding that you prove anything, but getting all riled up and defensive over someone asking why you don’t engage with end game systems is silly.

where did you get that info? Seriously I want a source. Making up stats like “the majority of players don’t like dungeons” in your head doesn’t count though

This has nothing to do with the question I asked. You seem to be angry about this but please read what I wrote before replying next time. I asked why the Esport side of dungeons ruins the non Esport side of them. (non Esport = no timer)

He did give you the actual answer, so I do not understand why you need to reverse the situation to make him the unreliable one.

I disagree. He said many people don’t like the race against the timer. The original question was why don’t you guys like normal dungeons. Normal dungeons don’t have a timer so bringing up the timer is a moot point. He answered a question that wasn’t asked and I consider that in your words, unreliable
