This! I was Tank, and I got a lot Kicked. So I Quit Tanks.
You must have messed up hard. What difficulty was it
I dread queueing, mostly because it’s always a dungeon I’m not familiar with, that I’m only doing for story progression – so I end up just blindly running after my party, trying to catch up and not pull the trash mobs everyone else seems to preternaturally know to avoid lol. Because I’m rushing to keep up, I occasionally make a fool out of myself, which is always embarrassing at best lmao. I’m always relieved when it’s over.
Being able to solo old dungeons from previous expansions is way more my speed, but also pretty boring, so I just avoid dungeons in general unless I’m farming. Or again, if progression requires it.
Basically because the chances of a toxic experience is very high, especially if you are tanking or healing in a pick up group. It’s just not worth the hassle.
As far as playing solo in an MMO, it’s the content, and the expansions, and maybe a bit of chatting now and again.
It was Normal Dungeon, and I got a lot Verbally Abuse as Tank. That why I Quit Tanks.
I just do the dungens when i have to like campaighn etc or 1 vault . Idk when it happened but i lost all interest in dungens
they changed this dungeon since 9.0 ? each dps take one and last one heals+tank ?
Funnily, doing normals now (at least as DPS) is even easier since there tends to be 1-2 60s just pulling and burning down entire sections so you just gotta manage to stay alive and you’ll be done in 10 minutes.
One more time…
NOWHERE in the definition of MMO does it suggest that grouping with others should be required. Only that you are online with many other people simultaneously.
Not everyone likes dungeons.
To answer the OP:
Because I don’t care to do them. There’s plenty of other things to do in the game.
Imagine the classic dungeons, like BlackRock Depths or BlackRock Spire. Big, long, full of questing and story. They were built more like a classic DnD campaign, while today’s dungeons are more like a go-kart track.
Blizz tried to get that epic feeling back with mega dungeons, but kinda ruined it by making them into M+ anyway.
you really are going for the low hanging fruit arent you. you should be embarrassed.
Learn with friends
I love how relaxed normal and heroic dungeons are. Best way to learn all the mechanics of the fight without the anger from the mythic + crowd. And ironically, each time I join them, I'm finding people in there with high current season RIOs. Some there for the weekly, but others are doing it just to blast through them. Someone was even there to "take a break" and just enjoy it.
I do other content, but for some people, the dungeon IS the game.
It really only takes one or two runs where someone tells you that your trash, should uninstall that game, and that your parents should die horribly from a terminal illness for someone who is socially awkward to begin with to say…
…nope.
Because go go go mentality perhaps
There is too much hurry
Is it really that bad? I’ll run the occasional heroic dungeon for quests while totally out gearing it. Usually there is a low ilevel character or two in there. It doesn’t matter. One over geared player and you breeze through the place and are done.
you try that when lvling a toon and not knowing anything about the dungeon.
I don’t like doing dungeons because it’s not a group effort to take on a challenge…
It’s a silent speed run where someone only speaks if something goes wrong, and usually the group breaks up after that and you have to slot in a new random person whom you’re likely never to see again, if you can continue at all.
Dungeons in Classic took fkn FOREVER, but you often got to know the people you were with, make acquaintances, and maybe even friends.
Dungeons in Retail is just that thing you queue for and do while you watch youtube or listen to an audio book.
You’re not by yourself… but you’re solo.
Dungeons in the game have moved from “can we overcome the challenge?” to “how quickly can we overcome the challenge?”
(And don’t get me wrong, I love running M+ with friends)
But the M+ attitude only enhanced the “get this over with now” attitude that came with crossrealm dungeon finder.
No. But waiting 20 minutes in line for a dungeon that takes 20 minutes is annoying.
I only do them if I have to, or if it’s one of the TW xpax that I enjoyed. I don’t find the latest group of dungeons that fun TBH. So I play the way I want to.
