To all who keep designating servers for this and that

It’s the way it is, when people step to the edge of their bubble and realise that there are people who aren’t like them out there. When they’re in their little bubbles, it’s all a nice picket fence fever dream.

Any post mentioning LGBT on here is a perfect example.

That’s what safe spaces do to people eventually. They can’t tolerate differing opinions, so they try to have an entire realm to themselves.

This is the idiotic scaremongering that is the problem here. These different groups aren’t trying to exclude people not in their tribe. They’re trying to find each other amongst the mass of people. Only people who feel threatened by the fact that there are other types of people out there, interpret as being excluded while they make up the majority of every server still.

The white male is still the dominant force in WoW. Don’t get scared.

I refuse to take that from the person who just depicted America as entirely homophobic. You call ME the scaremonger? That’s rich.

It must be very tiring playing up your victimhood all the time. You should take a nap, your racisim, and sexism is showing.

Lol, again with the “I’m going to choose a horrible interpretation and run with it.”

I said America is undeniably tribal. It doesn’t matter whether your Tribe is Democrats vs Republicans, Hipsters, LGBT, Gun Lovers, Christian Evangelicals etc. What matters is the tribe.

The fact that you jumped to “You called America homophobic” just proves, you’re working hard to interpret things in any way you can to find an argument.

Because I want to allow people to connect with other people they can be comfortable with? Ah huh.

But word choice is important. Saying a server is a streamer server or a brazilian server or lgbt server or especially the Herod folks who are aggressively against any of those things indicates ownership. If a community is trying only to find like minded people, a habit I might add which limits new ideas, then they should post that message, not plant a flag in a game where people get off on trying to cap each others flags.

Today’s phrase of the day is : Cognitive Dissonance.

I think fundamentally in all these endless threads… is that we all just want people to play the game and enjoy it. The people who understand making inclusive guilds or communities and the people who don’t understand why that’s ever needed just aren’t going to see eye to eye on this topic.

I’m fine with that. People are gonna do what they want at launch and if they want to create communities, it’s not against TOS and not bothering anyone else.

Couldnt have said it any better myself.

That’s all well and good until the RCR starts getting out of hand.

Except that it doesn’t. Because there aren’t enough Brazillians to push everyone else out, and the streamer scare is a ridiculous beat up by people who want to make excuses for stream sniping. And there aren’t enough LGBT players to take over a server either. The vast majority of players on everyone of these servers will not be a member of any of those groups.

I agree, you really should look into it. There’s zero conflict in my position.

That’s completely true. Which is why when someone makes a post about “Tribe X should all go here”, and it gets jumped on by hundreds of bigots, people who don’t even make up a part of Tribe X are going to defend it against people like the OP.

Mmmmm that’s some tasty salt.

You basically just did a “NO U”, the battle cry of a person who has lost an argument. Whatever, no skin off my nose.

And see, here in lies the problem. You claim to want diversity, and yet you are so eager to write people off as bigots. That is extremely intellectually dishonest, not to mention unethical.

And you wonder why these sorts of communities get so much flack? When people like you do this crap constantly?

Well, since it doesn’t apply to me, I figured you were talking about yourself, but if not, why did you bring it up?

The only thing stopping the LGBT threads from outright abuse, is the Blizzard forum policy. So yeah, there’s a reason Blizzard keeps locking those threads, and it isn’t the people making the topic.

I’m not part of these communities. I literally am not going to any server because it’s “my people”, because I don’t fall into any minority. But so far, every thread made by one of these smaller groups to try and get their community together, has been abused, insulted, derided and basically made to feel unwelcome.

And then the OP has the gall to claim it’s their problem, and you seem to think you’re being excluded because you don’t fall into “that tribe”.

But you just said it. “Tribe X should all go here.” Those words have a very different implication and are exactly what should be use to indicate that, as a group, Tribe X is going to a place. Those are not the words being used. For some reason, everyone wants to play king of the hill. I dont care who goes where anymore as long as they can play well with others.u
I moved my two toon reservations from Herod due to a combination of 10k wait time and toxic attitudes before so much as one toon entered the game.
I moved my toons away from Grob once the rp police started telling folks how they were expected to behave and called it griefing and harassment if their little rules werent followed. Now their area bunch of guilds going for Atiesh and they come across as seriously heterophobic. Guess I will just have to try again.

WELCOME TO THE INTERNET. It’s quite literally the wild west. Fact of the matter is, this stuff happens constantly, and it’s not exclusive to LGBT communities either. It happens to EVERY community. That’s how it is.

Please don’t project yourself onto me like that. I’m part of the LGBT community myself, but I’m pointing out how your behavior makes us look bad. Even if you aren’t part of ‘our tribe’ (Which I think is a bit offensive rhetoric in of itself) you still make us look bad.

We don’t need you going to bat for us, calling people bigots or whatever because they said something that might be construed as offensive. We can take care of ourselves, just like every other healthy human being, we don’t need someone like you playing moral guardian for us… All that does is make people hate us further because you alienate them with toxic behavior.

The only people in America who care are the ones trying to make money from or gain power from.

You have heard of the Straight Pride Parades right?
