I’d argue it’s also something that doesn’t need dealt with.
If I go to a hobby shop and run an open D&D group, I retain the right to refuse DMing for any one person individually for any reason. There are definitely unfair ways to use that power, but fairness does not equal rightness. You have the right of association; the right to decide whom you associate with, when, and why you do so.
The alternative is forcing a game in which there are known tensions that can ruin it for everyone.
In WoW’s case, it isn’t the DM’s choice - an important distinction. The group entire is given agency by way of majority vote.

At the very least they need to remove the deserter debuff for being kicked.
I leveled 4 healers at the start of the anniversary event and was kicked several times always just before the last boss… I also noticed each time there were several players from the same server present… My guess is this has become a fun pass time for small groups of players that are inclined towards griefer behavior.
