Woah snow woooooah! Have some more empathy, come on now!
The problem is that misbehavior is not limited to max level.
I don’t usually do that because I got HBO or Netflix or a movie on the 2nd monitor.
Me as well. I jump between youtube, twitch, crunchyroll or netflix. But I blame my a.d.d. which almost forces me to multitask.
I can tank, watch my show, and be a total clown in chat
Exactly, they lose more and more content creators, new players come and leave in a few months due to the Toxicity and Elitism of the community, only the same faces from 10 years ago remain, and what does Blizzard do about it? They release WoW Classic-Classic hahaha… definitely this game, I don’t know how it has come so far with so few solutions to the problems and a community that instead of demanding, settles for whatever they are given, are there problems? Well, get a $90 Brontosaurus hahaha… it all seems like a joke nowadays. The “Loyalists” to Blizzard seem like Zombies that follow them without protesting whatever they do! They will only be left when the company collapses.
Everyone already has the option to queue up with friends. Given the choice, I imagine most people don’t choose randoms.
I think I understand the point you’re trying to make, but I still maintain that anyone at any level of play or stage of progression should have the tools others do to keep the game enjoyable.
Yes, you will get the odd person who manages to pass a majority vote to kick someone for low damage when it doesn’t matter, but you leave them with the ability to remove AFKs so others can get in and level who are active, and the ability to remove anyone who’s disruptive.
I hold that the former is far less common than the latter two.
I understand, (A GAME) but instead of playing, you are supposed to Ask, Study, graduate from WOWHEAD University, and only then will you be ready to play a level 20 Dungeon… Is it just me or is this Ridiculous? That to play a game you have to Prepare more than to perform Surgery?
Maybe it’s you?
and this is why I now played conquest of Azeroth by Project Ascension. They don’t have a vote to kick system. They also don’t have toxic players. I don’t think the vote kick system is the problem. I think the community is the problem. Everybody sitting here bickering about a system that’s really only intended to keep people in line when the people themselves can’t be kept in line. So whether you keep it or remove it, the problem still exists. what needs to happen is better moderation of game opportunity by the game masters to actually remove toxic players from the situation and prevent the need to even have such a system in place. Everybody sitting here bickering about vote to kick and nobody’s talking about the fact that players suck.
Let me know when Blizz lets you deal with people following you around the entire world trying to disrupt your roleplay. Can’t vote kick people from a shard/zone/area at the moment.
If Blizzard really cared about the issue they would actually be dealing with the problems and not just hoping the community does.
One of the things I see there is that the game is pretty good at hiding its complexity, and players tend to skip tutorials and not read all their talents/passives as they get them.
So this is another requirement? Do you have to have friends beforehand to play or do you have to search among hundreds of thousands of Guilds for someone to help you? Have you ever played other games where everything works as it should? I don’t know if it’s just me, but this is the only game where I’ve been told that in order to “PLAY” I have to study. I think that more than playing it would be like “Working” after hours of studying and working. The last thing I want is to have to sit down and “Work” in WoW.
Principle, in this case.
Sorry, I can’t help it.
Do they not action people for reporting this? It would be nice if ignores disabled seeing these people, FFXIV recently added a feature like that.
We don’t get authority to enforce the CoC, just the agency to control the group based on the majority’s choice. That’s why VTK doesn’t have any real limitations on reasons you can give, it’s not meant to be a punishment of any kind.
I initiated a kick today. I came in the middle of a dungeon, apparently 2 people had quit the run and people were insulting the ones who left. I follow the path to find the tank, see a healer rushing in twink mode, skipping everything on his way. I asked him to stop skipping and I even said please. His answer? “Tough. Go roll a tank if you want to clear like a stupid noob, what are you (the R-word)?”.
Yes this one is getting kicked and deserves the 30 minute buff. Funny part is he whispered to ask why he was kicked and that he did nothing wrong.
If you read half of the 500 messages in this post you would see that the “Empathy” factor is a bit absent here! haha
But I do understand that everyone is different, it’s a shame there aren’t more understanding people like you out there these days.
Of course it’s not a requirement. But if you’re going to queue up with randoms, you’re going to be subjected to the way those randoms play, think and feel.
I didn’t say anything about studying. Or work. Wtf?? Do YOU have to work and study to have friends? Get new ones.
You made a big complaint, I offered an easy and obvious solution. It’s an MMO. Make friends that won’t boot you from dungeons. EZ
Or don’t, and suffer. I’m just sharing what I do to avoid having the problems you seem to be having.
Quoting for posterity because that was such a wild leap.
I totally agree with you, it is an overly punitive measure that takes up a lot of your time.
I mean, if they insist on leaving the system in place, just remove the 30 minute debuff and then they can go off and become someone else’s problem.
Yes this one is getting kicked and deserves the 30 minute buff. Funny part is he whispered to ask why he was kicked and that he did nothing wrong.
Yeah there are a lot of people who think they do nothing wrong and kicks against them are unjustified. It’s unfortunate that people are like that.
You talk about a lot of freedom, my friend, but what about the freedom of the Expelled? Doesn’t he have the right to freedom, or at least to defend himself? Too much excessive freedom for one and no freedom for others. Your freedom is a bit arbitrary.
