Ok, let’s evaluate your position. According to you, I’m affecting the experience of four other players by delaying their dungeon completion by, say, 1 to 5 minutes. And of course, it’s perfectly reasonable for them to kick me and waste 30 minutes of my time in return?
If we put this on a scale, the expelled player’s loss is FAR greater than what the others might lose. So yes, you’re absolutely right—I’m such a terrible person for “stealing” a few minutes, and they’re the heroes for stealing 30 minutes of my time. Perfectly logical.
Additionally, everyone keeps saying I’m “bad” simply because I’m playing a secondary character that I don’t fully master. So, apparently, it’s logical that with a new class I’ve never played before, I’m expected to master it within my first three interactions, becoming a Pro Player in minutes just to avoid wasting 3 minutes of progression dungeons (10-80) for a few “poor” players who apparently can’t spare 3 minutes but think it’s fine for me to lose 30.
And let’s not forget that many times you’re not even kicked for being “bad.” As I’ve already mentioned (not sure if you read it), sometimes you’re kicked for simply disagreeing with another player. Like in the example where I was kicked for defending a healer who was being verbally abused by an aggressive and offensive tank.
That kick didn’t waste anyone’s time and had no impact on the group’s progress. But my expulsion? Completely justified, right?
If you’ve been kicked a number of times that this has become a problem for you. I’d suggest you look within.
It’s just wild to me that I can do hundreds upon hundreds of dungeons and never witness a kick, even for a dc. Yet y’all seem to run into them frequently enough to warrant these disingenuous rage posts.
Retribution: something given or exacted in recompense
People are getting kicked as punishment for disrupting the dungeon is exactly that: a punishment.
You’re punishing someone (removing them) for not playing. I’m not saying that’s the wrong action to take here, but it’s clearly a punishment.
Having someone ask you why you accused them of being disruptive is being held accountable.
I want to impose a cost (having to defend their actions) sure. Revenge is a bit much. I can be easily ignored and, if I send them harassing messages rightfully banned.
The tank kept dying because they were pulling way more enemies than they could handle. They blamed the healer for not keeping them alive, even though it was impossible since the tank was dying in seconds. They started insulting the healer, saying horrible things. I simply told the tank to stop being so toxic and to try pulling fewer enemies.
The tank initiated three vote-kick attempts against the healer, blaming them for their own mistakes. I voted No all three times, and when the tank realized I was the one denying the kicks, they kicked me instead.
Obviously, the group’s progress wasn’t slowed because of me—it was because the tank didn’t know what they were doing. But sure, I still got kicked. And according to your logic, I wasn’t hindering the group’s progress at all. In fact, I was the top DPS in that dungeon.
1,000% valid reasons to kick the top DPS for telling the tank not to be toxic, right? Totally reasonable, of course.
The abusive player already has the names of the 4 people in the group. If they choose to harass, which I assume is what you’re getting at, then they can be banned.
Why didn’t you vote kick the tank for being toxic?
The squeaky wheel gets the grease. You spoke up and drew attention to yourself. You joined the conflict. It’s like never get in the middle of 2 bears fighting.
Well… If the others voted yes, and you voted no. You’d be the odd man out of that. So yes, you were impeding the groups progress.
And it doesn’t matter who was top. It matters that you drew attention to yourself and you got voted off the island.
It’s not about “fair” or whatever your angle is. It’s about majority rule and the GROUP deciding what it wants. Not what you think is right or wrong.
Well, the others did not vote yes, because if not they would have expelled the Healer, which was not the case. If the vote failed 3 times it is because someone else besides me voted NO, so no, the group did not agree with the Vote.
