That word has lost meaning. What’s your definition of toxicity? What’s mine?
In my opinion toxicity is subjective and too generic. I’ve gotten into arguments with GMs over this.
I believe that.
So you want halfway accountability now?
You want to be able to harass the person who kicks you, then turn around and queue for another LFD in 30 minutes without any consequences to you?
Hmm…
Im sure that worked out for ya
Well, pick one. Either getting kicked gives you deserter, or people will demand kicks to avoid it (as they did 14 years ago before it was patched)
The issue is that many people in this thread have been saying things like, “All the group members voted for the kick” or claiming that this happens so rarely that it can’t be considered a systemic problem. These comments seem to describe a utopian world where malice doesn’t exist, but obviously, that’s not true. There are plenty of bad players in the community, with terrible intentions, who don’t hesitate to ruin the experience for others.
Blizzard likely implemented this system as a good idea, but unfortunately, toxic players always end up ruining everything they touch, misusing it in the worst ways.
It’s like the game League of Legends—no matter how much effort RIOT puts into banning toxic players, they always find ways to keep bothering others. For example, with the ping system: do you think RIOT ever imagined that toxic players would misuse the ping system to harass others? Of course not, but toxic players misuse everything they touch! That’s why we end up in these situations.
Blizzard has a tough task in dealing with the toxicity in the community, but they need to do something to ensure that good players aren’t so negatively affected by the actions of toxic players. That’s exactly what’s happening here: they’ve given tools to some players that allow them to harm others.
It’s a bad combination when these tools fall into the wrong hands. Blizzard needs to recognize this and take steps to ensure that their systems protect good players from the harm caused by bad actors in the community.
Harassment has consequences in game.

GMs are very robotic, there is little you can say that upsets them.
Not always.
Still begs the question of why you’d need to know their name. Especially if the vote passes and you’re out of the group. What are you gonna do with that information?
That’s a you problem

You can open a support ticket for dirty socks on the floor and most GMs will remain professional.
All these people complaining about getting kicked like its an epidemic and everyone is getting kicked every other dungeon…unless you’re a troll or are asleep for half the run 99.9% of the population aint having this issue, its obviously a user error on your end
4-6 weeks later, when the ticket pops up for a GM to review.
Ask them why.
Even if I didn’t respond them having their name attached with a public vote would have them more carefully decide on initiating. If I got kicked because it was legitimate then it’s easily defendable and they’d enjoy the chance to tell me “you were afk for 5 minutes”.
I don’t think there’s any point in denying human nature to think more carefully about actions when your name is attached.
And if they don’t care to respond to you? Then what?
You’re describing exactly why an individuals vote on a ballot is secret.
Me and my brother used to join groups and when they tried to kick me for low dps my brother would vote no.
