You beat me to it. Or they’ll see where it was clearly an idiotic reason to kick but pretend it was justified because they’re the same people who think kicks are for laughs.
But then everyone is going to look at every kick as being unjust, and will make it more work for Blizzard, desolving from the real problems of being who are breaching the In-Game Code of Conduct.
I don’t think you understand the kick system or its purpose.
There are no “unjust kicks” because the VtK system is a tool with the purpose of giving groups agency over who they play with. It is NOT a tool to punish players for breaking the rules.
You can’t report someone for using the tool Blizzard gave them to use for whatever reason they want to use it.
I think people truly do not understand just how much actual human work would be involved in policing the Vote to Kick system, lol.
They’d be better off just reducing/removing Deserter and leaving it at that.
I think they’re better at leaving things as they are currently, otherwise the dungeons are never going to get done.
Let’s be real here. Blizzard’s “codes of conduct” are notorious in other circles for being overly vague, generic, ambiguous, and convoluted. If they were any more vague, they’d simply say “Do not do anything wrong”.
The proper thing to say is that there are no kicks that are against the rules. Now, are there idiotic kicks? Are there weaponized kicks? Absolutely 100%. No intelligent person will say there aren’t. People are just wishfully thinking of something better, since other companies are able to do it.
If someone reports kicks that were justified, they’re really just telling on themselves.
Then they weren’t kicked out for wearing greens. They were kicked out for another reason.
Greens are the most common rarity encountered in leveling unless you’re spam running dungeons and/or delves, so it’s to be expected that people are going to be wearing a majority of greens unless they’re just completely lucky on their loot rolls in getting higher rarities lol
I don’t know if Quivermethis is petty or not. The examples he gave are petty, and if you’re someone who thinks the vote-to-kick system is a necessity to weed out actual trolls and bad-faith players, giving me petty examples doesn’t exactly paint your stance in a great light and only further contributes to my point that it needs to be reformed lol
Okay, so they’re just being a contrarian then? Cool, because that’s definitely better lmao
Yeah, problems will become exponentially more common if they remove the debuff. The way it is, it’s not perfect, but it’s better than it was when there was no debuff.
Maybe that should have set warning bells off in your head that no one’s getting kicked for wearing greens.
Their point was that the reasons can be arbitrary, but the system exists for a reason and isn’t rampantly abused like people seem to claim it is.
If the conclusion you got was that then you misunderstood them.
Possibly, but I can’t exactly say for sure on what another player may be kicked out for.
Let me ask this: If I posted on the forums saying I was kicked out of a dungeon just for picking up a quest, would you believe me?
How do you know this?
Again, I don’t think you understand the system.
Blizzard would have to change its entirely philosophy on kicking in order for what you’re asking for to do anything at all. And that change would necessitate a ton of manpower to enforce.
Per Blizzard, every kick is justified as long as it passes. There is nothing to report.
As I already said: Just remove the deserter debuff and vote to kick system. Allow people to self-select. The people who want to stick around and are unbothered by an underperforming group can do so, and the people who don’t want to can leave and queue up for the next dungeon.
Best of both worlds for two groups that clearly contrast with one another.
As far as I am aware, Blizzard has done that actually on purpose. As for the reason why, I do not know.
Wrong.
If one person is impeding the progress of four people, your solution requires the four people to leave the group, requeue and get into a new dungeon.
I disagree with removing vote to kick in case someone genuinely is griefing, but I agree with the deserter debuff either being removed or shortened.
As cynical of Blizzard as I usually am, I have to admit that if this were a rampant issue for as long as people have screamed about it (which has been quite a long time now, actually) Blizzard probably would’ve done something. Maybe not the right something, but something.
How is that going to improve things?
I say shorten it to 15 minutes. If the one thing I do agree on, I hate the deserter being 30 minutes long. 15 minutes should be better timing of it.
