Titanforging gone. Game harder?

No it will not, everything is tuned based off of DPS, damage reduction and HPS. It doesn’t matter if we have it or not. I do think that if you cleanse corrupted gear it will be harder for you to play though because raids and mythic plus will definitely be tuned with corrupted effects in mind.

Titan forging gone just means i can skip much more (content)

Did he mention that his guild took 6 months to clear EP? Nope.

Imagine players being near ilvl over a 6 month period, because of some rng change to get ilvl, which rarely if almost never dings the chance to even proc 445.

It was clearly for that reason, his guild was unable to do it.

You have to understand that Blizzard feeds off of complaint feedback especially those that gives players the upper edge. If they can’t see the magic and complain about it. They will nerf it and laugh secretly saying “We gave them a little rng upgrade concept to have an upper edge and feel rewarded and they still complain”.

Once they remove it then the players will pretend to be happy about it, but then realize it was actually a good concept, but never to return like alpha worgen cosmetics. Appreciate what you got because once it’s gone it’s gone.

Does it matter for the point that he was making? Nope.

It does when your sample size 6 months, 25 weeks…

How? One guy spent 6 months in a Mythic raid. It makes sense that his ilvl would be near said raid. Frankly that would have still made sense if he’d been in one of the guilds that brickwalled at Ashvane and gave up two months in – most of the gear people wear tends to come from the early farm bosses anyway.

Other guy has never stepped foot out of LFR or timed a 10, yet has ilvl above Heroic raid, multiple tiers over anything that character has done. That’s weird.

What other information is even relevant here?

(And let’s set aside that EP was unusually screwy gearwise. DPS in particular were raiding at ~435 because of benthic and weren’t even getting a lot of upgrades after 2/8 dropped their weapons and trinkets.)

I leveled up this DK a few weeks ago and really haven’t done much on it…

Almost every piece of gear is warforged or titanforged and the pieces that aren’t have 'forged equivalents in my bags with useless stats.

It’s ridic.

My main that I had been raiding on and playing heavily all expac is the same ilvl with worse luck.

The RNG slots game is -not- enjoyable.

That is very unusual luck you have had. I see maybe 1 in 10 pieces that are forged, and usually only 5 ilvls. You totally made out, and now you think other people should be nerfed because of it? It smacks of “I got mine”.

Except he pointed out it’s an alt he doesn’t really care about.

Try reading what people actually write, instead of just making up a narrative.

not for just one item, no, but when you go from worldquest 415’s to heroic 430s there is a DRASTIC difference. it will be equally drastic in 8.3, even without corruption. i considering buying stock in popcorn for when the screaming starts once everything begins to play out after the patch goes live

On one level I understand. But the idea that “I got 1 in 1 trillion luck on this alt I don’t care about, nerf everybody else’s gear” sounds a dight dishonest to me.

The thread is filled with plenty of other examples and stories.

Sure. And most of them have the same solution offered. Which is nerf those people’s gear.

FTFY, and Yes, …why yes it will keep people

HAHA. Some people will stay. More will leave.

It is designed to give advantages to the minority at the expense of the majority.

It’s kind of like how when they brought in the titan residuum vendor, they removed vendor value from azerite gear. So people who had bagsful of gear that wasn’t going to give any residuum ended up having to dispose of it, ie, scrap it into worthless mats.

To put things into perspective, the +30 between 415 Dazar and 445 EP has been a jump of almost twice the previous tier for DPS/HPS, and a touch more than 100k health on top of it.

385 -> 415 was pretty big too, but not this large.

I sense a lot of projection on your part.

-A lot-

My point is that the Skinner’s Box gearing process is an unrewarding, discouraging, unsatisfying system that has -no- place in an RPG.

The fact that my alt can practically out-gear my main within a much, much, much shorter period and with much, much, much less play time and content than my main because of “luck” is not a logical system.
At all.

And the fact that this happens is part of the reason that many players have grown discouraged and quit.

Not everyone enjoys playing the gear slot machine.

It is a poor “rewards system.” What ends up happening is the average player becomes disincentavized and disinterested.
For others it just becomes a matter of seeking the next dopamine hit…like an old woman playing slots at a casino.
There is a reason the systems at a casino are rigged to randomly dispense “winnings”…it’s to keep you pulling the lever.
And the fact that Blizz decided to implement it is an insult to the playerbase.

So, no, my argument is -not- what you are projecting on to me…something which says more about you than it does about me.

It won’t change much, as 460 gear will be obtainable from a heroic warfront, and 470 gear will be obtainable through solo content.

The ilvl inflation is another huge issue.

It really does disincentivize players from engaging in content progression.

And it also leads to a lot of resentment on the part of players that keep chasing the loot dragon… They get frustrated when they end up out-gearing the content they’re not ready for and then hit that wall.
The “remove Raider IO” threads provide numerous, excellent, examples. Nevermind the players that quickly out-gear Normal difficulty raids, but lack the ability to complete Heroic…etc. Group Finder is full of those.
Then this leads to a division in the playerbase… the group that -can- do content feel the need to sift more so they can accomplish what they want to do while the other segment becomes convinced that they are deliberately being gated out of the only content that can provide them “upgrades” at that juncture.

The current process and system is not healthy on the whole.
At all.

And I really feel sorry for PvP players…Blizz has completely screwed the pooch there.
