Tinker, Warden, and Necromancer when?

My fav is when you have the folks who argue against the necromancer. They tell people to play a DK if you want that. But its not the same as a full on necromancer.

I also like to point out. Priest and Pali are similar due to their lore. DK is just a necromancer that is more runeblade and melee oriented version so why can’t we have a full on minions and caster? Could have special attacks based on what perma minions you have out. They can do the swarm mechanice the necromancer from diablo 3 has to get your minions to attack one target.

It’s difficult to condense this since there will be people to nitpick things and i would have to respond to much that i will get the same response to my original post by another person and i would then have to repeat myself since people skim comments.

Necromancer hasn’t been added because the mechanic is cancer. You have to think about the class from all scopes of the game, PVP, solo, PVE, etc. Necro is complete cancer in PVP.

Number one how do you summon corpses if you’re in PVP? No one has died yet. So you can’t do a corpse mechanic. So you’re basically a Warlock now. You just summon 5 million pets onto the screen.

Number 2, all the adds put strain on everything. Epic BG now has Necro’s with 100 pets everywhere. Raid now has Necros with 100 pets covering every single bit of visible ground. Necro pets aren’t like spell particle FX, you can’t turn them down in the graphics settings.

Number 3, pet mechanics aren’t good in any game. I don’t care if you give them an action bar, they have never been good. They’re not good in PoE, they’re not good in Grim Dawn, they’re not good in any game.

Number 4, solo play. How do you summon stuff if there are no corpses around? How do you do Delves? They would have to take power out of your summons just so you could kill stuff for corpses. I dunno, maybe there is come Necromancer expert around who can understand how to make this work in WoW.

I’m all for more classes/specs.
I just want more assassin/tank/bruiser/shapeshifter types that have really hard hitting abilities, are super mobile and do great cleave damage really though.

I am a simple creature. I know there are already lots of options for those, I just want more.

I wouldn’t say no to a spec that played like Teemo though. NGL. Same for Khazix/Nidalee.

Yes I am a bad person.

Warlocks should get necromancer skin, 100%

Lets also not forget that Warlocks were some of the first Necromancers in Warcraft :raised_hands:

  • Gul’dan CREATED Death Knights (before Frostmourne, helm of domination, corrupted Arthas, the lich Kel’Thuzad and the Scourge were even a thing!)

:person_shrugging: So honestly, giving Demo Warlocks a questline where they can swap out spell-visuals for necrotic visuals — along with having undead variants of pets would be pretty cool. :dracthyr_nod:

Additional Note: Would be even cooler if they had Death Knights able to participate in the questline story, for more undead customisations of their own

:metal: Get some DK & Warlock bro-code meme duo going on.

I admire your patience trying to explain the difference between a necromancer and death knight to people who just want to be obtuse.

With that said, I’m with you. I do wish we could have an actual multi-minion, army of the dead, Diablo and Age of Conan style necromancer heavily focused on minions, but I fear the potential for lag, balancing, and other issues dissuade Blizzard more than anything… thus leaving unholy DK’s as the closest thing to that undead minion master fantasy, albeit being forced into melee and plate.

As for tinker and warden, I feel like the doors are wide open. Especially tinker.

It wouldn’t have mechanical pets, it would revolve around piloting a mech into combat like Gallywix and Mekkatorque did in BFA.

Heck, if you look at the Goblin and Gnome races here on this website, both their racial leaders are pictured inside mechs.

Wouldnt Tinker be a perfect hero talent for MM/Surv hunter? Let them tame ANY mechanical as pets, would be dope af.

No, because Warcraft Tinkers are mech-based. Mech piloting makes no sense in a class based around archers are survivalists.

So death knights but as a caster

I have never seen a paladin using void eruption or mind control.

I could see them being a Hero Spec, now that it’s a thing.

  • Tinker could be a Surv / MM Hero spec
  • Necro could be Afflict / Demo spec
  • Warden could be a Sub / Assassin spec

I see a lot of people here never played Diablo, Wildstar, or Everquest and it shows.

I miss my Chua Engineer. I want that type of class for this game.

PRECISELY!!!

That was basically a Tinker class and that’s what I had in mind in this.

This guy gets it.

So, basically a DK in cloth.

I’ve never got the interest in Tinker. It just feels like morphing engineering into a class.

And Wardens, Ive not heard of much at all.

Now Bards, Bards I’ve heard of, like a Support class. I rather like the idea of music being magical.

I suggest possible names for the Necro to have as their talent trees, and you make an instantaneous giant LEAP into “DK in cloth”

Ok I guess a Pally is a priest in plate.

I guess a Warrior is a rogue in plate.

Hunter is a lock in mail. Right?

We can rename them whatever. Fine, instead of BLOOD we call it Essence. Whatever nomenclature makes it easier to digest.

Maaate, Im not the first person in the history of the universe to compare the Necromancer requests to DKs. Please be not jumping on my small pink haired person for stating the obvious.

You can name the specs anything you like but creating a class just because it has a neat name is one thing, but trying to make a class that deals with undeath when there is already a class that deals with undeath is a problematic ask.

There are two classes that cast holy light spells.

There are two classes that cast nature magic.

There are two classes that use demonic magic.

There are two classes that use shadow magic.

There are two classes that have pets (three if you count mage).

I don’t see any validity to your point.

And you’re right, I apologize for my previous tone. But my points still stand.

It only takes a tiny bit of creativity to make a unique class.

You want a Necromancer, play a Death Knight Unholy, that is basically it. Unless you want something akin to a Diablo Necromancer, which is basically a DK, play a DK.
