With the overlap the others would have with existing classes, the only one of these that I think could actually be justified as a full class is Tinker. Warden could work as a Hunter Tank spec, but Necromancer I honestly can only see as a full reskin of Warlock using undead pets ⌠Warlock simply already does EVERYTHING a Necromancer class would do, and DKs already cover the undead theme anyway.
This is WarCraft, not Diablo, WarCraft Necromancers do not use scythes or blood magic.
Whether YOU agree with it or not, the Devs will NEVER introduce a full class that is a LITERAL duplicate of an existing class. Priests and Paladins share some (but not all) of their thematic aspects, but their gameplay is VASTLY different. There simply are not enough unique things about Warden and especially Necromancer left for them to make full blown classes out of them. Thatâs it. Period. End of discussion.
Only a delusional person wouldnât see the big deal here. I apologize if my post has come across as harsh but you REALLY need to accept the fact that Warden and Necromancer are NEVER going to happen, otherwise youâll spend the rest of WoWâs existence being disappointed.
We already have hunters that throw bombs and use mechanical pets, engineering bombs and turrets, engineer-themed armor and weapons, and various mechanical mounts. Also, at this point, there are so many different visions for what people want from tinkers that thereâs next to no way to add them in a way that pleases everyone, especially when it comes to its race distribution. You limit the class to short races, you get complaints about there being no draenei tinkers when they can already build spaceships and flying mechs, and if you give it to everyone, you get complaints that it shouldâve been limited to short races even though that would make no sense whatsoever.
Too night elf-centric to be a full class, and as pointed out before, theyâre effectively glorified rogues with a DH ability or two. We now have a full warden transmog set, people can wear that. If there was a time to add wardens as a class, it wouldâve been during the four expansions in a row of night elf-centric storylines.
DKs and warlocks exist. What exactly would the second and third specs do differently from Affliction and Unholy, aside from maybe having a wider selection of minions than the latter? A healing spec that sucks the life out of enemies to transfer it to allies is the only thing a necromancer class would have thatâs unique from other healers, and even then draining life is also something warlocks and DKs can do.
Youâre just admitting that you want these classes for the sake of having more classes and donât care about them being redundant, which is absolutely not how any dev team should handle adding new things.
Ferals and rogues have mechanical overlap. They have zero thematic overlap, which is where the argument that necromancers would be redundant stem from.
Priests have a duality motif with a Light spec, a Void spec, and a spec that balances the two, while paladins are a purely Light-themed class who also fight and approach the Light differently from priests, so their coexistence is tolerated. It would be different if one was added first and the other came later.
Probably never because the WoW forums community and reddit, in their infinite wisdom seem and collective IQ of mashed potatos and gravy, seem to think that a Necromancer is âLITERALLY JUST THE SAME AS UNHOLY DKâ despite things like holy paly and holy priest being able to be two distinct things.
Just like this same community thought âDemon Hunter and Demonology warlock is witterally the same thing and blizzard should just make demon hunter a warlock spec!â
simply because for some odd reason blizzard this one time gave warlocks metamorphosis even though it was a demon hunter move in warcraft 3.
I mean, why arenât combat rogue and fury warrior the same?
Why isnât priest and paladin the same?
but necromancer with 3 specs existing along side unholy death knight? Simply IMPOSSIBLE for the community to wrap their mega brains around.
Except you canât use any of those flying mechs for combat. For example, you canât tank or DPS in one of the mechs. Itâd be like arguing that we donât need Evokers because of that Alchemy vial that transforms you into a dragon mount.
Hunters throwing a bomb and using mechanical pets isnât a tinker. A tinker would be a character that can fight inside a mech and utilize everything from machine guns, to flamethrowers, to gravity bombs, to laser canons.
As for adding them in a way that pleases everyone; No class implementation is going to please everyone, but making a Tinker class mainly based on Mekkatorque and Gazlowe inside mechs is pretty much the best way to go. Not only does their small racial size makes creating mechs for them easier, but it also makes sense from a lore perspective, since a smaller sized race with a lot of intellect would totally build robotic suits so that they can fight toe to toe with Orcs, Tauren and Draenei.
I mean Rogues have 3 melee dps specs. DH 3rd spec could be something like survival hunter, melee with demon pets.
One of the reasons Iâve been begging for a Tinker is to finally have a class that fills the steampunk/sci fi themes of WoW. Between WC3, Mekkatorque/Gazlowe in WoW, the mobs we see in WoW with mech suits, and Gazlowe in HoTs, thereâs a whole bunch of specs, abilities, and themes they could use.
