Would be really excited for a Tinker class. Excited to see what they come up with.
Well, not like it matters. These people were wrong at every turn. They said Demon Hunters wouldnât happen cause of the lock spec. We have demon hunters. Monks was the same, rogue with fists instead of knives. We have monks. They say there wouldnât be a difference between a DK and a Necro, we have Priests and Paladins.
At this point listening to these people and assuming they know what they are talking about is dumb.
a tinker class for me, it would be similar to the Mechanicus of Drakensang, summoning Towers that shoot, throwing bombs, transforming into a mecha robot, jetpack.
Iâd say yes to all of this. I think spell breaker would be a good fit as well. Also, maybe a void knight of sorts.
Edit: bard, that April fools they did still has me hooked.
Honestly necromancer already exists, unholy really feels like that right now. You get a zillion minions between the horsemen, abom, ghouls, maguses, and your transformed default ghoul.
Technomancer is a class I want so badly it HURTS. Itâs got SO much potential.
Melee DPS / Ranged DPS / Tank
Melee could be themed after the unit in WC3/Gazlowe from HotS with a focus on using gadgets and a crazy supply kit to deal damage, with perhaps some added clockwerk creations for some light minion dps. It could be like a weird baby between demo lock and a rogue.
A ranged spec for them could maybe use guns or hell, even crossbows/bows along with perhaps more artificer-themed stuff to lean into more âpew pew bang bangâ action with advanced artillery. Would LOVE it if they let us assemble like a big, BIG cannon over the course of a fight and just let it rip.
And for tank? Combat Mechs. Let me run in and suit-up into a little battle tank that I can customize and mount/dismount in combat where you have to swap in and out of various side-arms and combat protocols to suit the situation.
Hero specs could focus on a particular field of study. Artificer could swing more Draenei/Blood Elf themed, you could have Machine Speakers, and if I had to think of a third, maybe something a bit more industrial/factory themed? This is sort of stumping me a bit, but I think itâd be cool as hell.
Tinker is a garbage class idea by people who have no idea how wow works
be an engineer
Id rather have no more tank or healer classes.
Pureâs only.
engineering tools are heavily CD locked and restricted.
You canât tank, DPS, Heal, dungeons/raids or complete quests using only engineering items.
Tinker makes the most sense out of the three. The game desperately needs a technology class, and Goblins and Gnomes are rather out of place without a technology class.
Wardens are too much like Demon Hunters.
Necromancers are too much like Warlocks, and DKs already take care of undead themes.
I donât want the Tinker class, blizzard devs are cowards and would never give us gnome/ goblin / mechagnome only version of tinkers because it would hurt the elf only players so much. so it would be some stupid abomination every race every class with Tauren and Zandalari jumping into Gundams.
If blizzard isnât going to bother giving us an authentic version of tinkers, then donât bother.
In order: No, never, and DKs exist already.
None of these are overlapping the way you think they do: Rogues donât shapeshift. Ferals canât pickpocket or use poisons. Priests arenât warriors, but paladins are.
Spam less, think more.
If they do it, itâs going to be Goblin/Gnome based. The structure of the class is already in place, and thereâs pretty much zero chance Blizzard is going to abandon it to make some generic class that doesnât resemble Gazlowe or Mekkatorque; the established Tinker heroes.
People have this weird notion that theyâre going to cater every future class to elves, and I simply donât buy it.
I doubt that man⊠we got playable dragons and they couldnât even commit and give us a pure monster race instead they had to waste hundreds of hours of development time on the Visage elf appeasing form
One of my alt time favorite classes was the Necromancer from EQ 1. I just loved playing that class and would love to play something similar again.
Never, if weâre lucky.
Necro should have been added in Shadowlands. Tinker should have been added in BFA with the addition of the Mechagnomes. Warden, sorry thatâs just a Hunter.
Necromancers will only be added if/when Blizz decides to add 4th specs to many classes as an expansion feature, where theyâd be added as a ranged cloth spec for DKs or maybe Warlocks. Tbh, the 3 DK specs shouldâve been Blood, Frost, and Necromancer. I feel like they added Unholy instead because a ranged caster spec was too different from the other 2 specs and they wanted one with a bit more overlap
