Tinker Class - With all of these machines everywhere, now IS the time! (MEGATHREAD)

OP, I really hate to bash on your thread, but I would think a rule of thumb still applies.

That rule of thumb is where the day we have our beloved Tinker class is the same day Mechagnomes get more customizations. Otherwise the community will continue to **** on these ideas. And the devs will ignore.

It could happen on the same day, who knows? But Mechagnomes are the hierarchy of tech. They need to be addressed first.

On a graceful note however, I do want a Tinker class.

My alt is a mechagnome! Trust me I feel it too!!! They deserve more paint options, matte/gloss coating on their limbs, individual and de-synced limb customization, decals, digital eye-colour changing, and so much more, like exhaust vents, tesla coil prongs, and the ability to choose what pieces of the mechagnome are covered by armour or not.

Probably more! But I’ll gladly start with those options. Hear hear!

(and of course getting the Tinker class lol)

It would be a good idea for the Tinkers, that class is really needed a lot.

But Blizzard once told Blizzard that we don’t want that, or don’t put that.

And Blizzard says: we are going to do it because i wants to.

Blizzard had for Tinkers, Bards and Blademasters, it gives us Evokers.

Blizzard we ask for Nagas, Vrykuls, or One head ogres, theys give us Earthens and stupid lizard ppl with wing Drackhtyrs.

so it would be a good idea, but it’s been a while, it’s been a while since Blizzard has failed us in many things, such as in the case of the Tinkers class, and I’m already tired of repeating the threads that talk a lot about this class.

At the end of it all, Blizzard continues to ignore and make the worst ideas that should not exist in Retail.

Id love if they made tinkers the idea has always kept my attention.

For my ideas

Demolitions: Range dps spec, they would have a fire or bleed dot, while having fire or physical attacks
Spell ideas and Spec ideas

Sticky bomb instant cast 3 sec delay target takes X physical damage and deals X damage to up to 5 nearby targets.

Shrapnel Mine instant cast 12 sec recharge deals X physical damage to all enemies in X area and has 45% chance to cause bleed damage.

Blast Cannon DPS cool down. deals X fire and physical damage.

Mechanic Melee dps Uses gadgets to deal damage in melee range.
Spells

Hydraulic strike: deals 90% weapon damage a second cast makes it deal damage in a 15-yard cone.

Supercharge: Overload your arm cannon to deal 150% damage divided to enemies in 20-foot radius of target.

Oil spill: Targets in area are slowed by 50% until they leave the area.

Operator: Tank spec Uses a mech suite to mitigate damage

Mech suite (stance) enter your custom made mech suite.

Crash and Thrash. Charge target, and deal area effect damage

Defensive Overload. Reduce damage by 50% and reflect the same damage.

General spell

Scraptron A summonable mount that would change based on race.

I’d love to have Tinkerers as a class.

Be a great way to give us a neat Engineer for a healing spec, Mechanitor for a Tank spec and Demolitions for a DPS spec.

Figure they all use turrets and bombs to a degree, but the Demolitions uses a lot of specialized bombs, some of which can stun or silence. Mechanitor uses a mech suit from a backpack with big ole arms and legs to move around. Engineer goes heavy into the turrets with many of them being able to assist with healing or cleanse and the engineer throwing out bomb like packets that do the majority of the healing or using a tech device to heal.

Be a real fun class with several specs to fill out a few designs of fantasy we don’t yet have very well.

Don’t ask why but I just want a class that does either of the following:

Throws bombs (LOTs of bombs), dynamite, sets mines, calls in for flying machine airstrikes
OR
Throws vials of acid, poison, blights the ground, causes enemies to temporarily mutate, either making them attack their allies or becoming crippled.

BTW OP, I don’t think Undead would fit the “tinker” class. They are more of efficient herbalists and alchemists. They don’t dabble with machine tech – rather biological tech.

It’s funny because if you play Survival Hunter right now with the right talents and with the 4 set, you’re absolutely spamming the bomb throws and it… actually feels really fun?

My tinfoil hat theory says it feels less like a Hunter thing and more like a proof of concept for future Tinker gameplay. It doesn’t fit Survival at all, and it’s like… hang on… you take this “feeling” and tack it onto a class that revolves around bombs, machines, mechs, drones, turrets, and various dangerous liquids… you’ve got yourself a home run.

And that newest Trading Post set? The Wastewander Tracker’s Kit; it straight up looks and feels like it could’ve been a Tinker tier set for something like Siege of Orgrimmar. Equip that set while spamming bombs as a survival hunter nobody plays? Bada-bing bada-boom you’ve got yourself a Tinker from wish to hold you off until the real thing happens lmfao

My logic for their inclusion was along the same lines of “it’s a stretch, but it passes” as for how Orcs are now Priests (they’re technically Shaman that are attuned to the element of “Song”, and are called “Lo’Kosh”).

or how Gnome Priests are technically “Field Medics” despite in-game clearly using light. Canonically they’re using science.

For Undead Tinker, I think there’s a weak, but still strong enough amount of lore that supports the ideas that machinery off the artillery/tinker variety isn’t too much of a departure from their concoctions and siege machines already.

By my count, this would leave Alliance with 7 races, and Horde with 6, which seems totally fair and healthy. I think any other races as of now would be a considerable stretch.

I’m of the belief that this class might be coming in The Last Titan due to Mimiron. We already have a history of this Keeper giving us titan weaponry (Titanstrike, Titan’s Reach, Hati) so it wouldn’t be out of the question to give us another device to help us with saving the world soul. I think that device could be the Tinker claw pack we see in WC3 and HotS.

The claw pack certainly fits the parameters of a titan device, since it can transform from a robotic backpack into a huge mech in WC3, and supposedly carries the armaments of a small army. We’ve also strangely have never seen those backpacks in WoW.

I personally would drive the titan connection a bit harder by also making it Azerite-powered.

Exactly what I’m thinking. Makes it a little Azerothian-agnostic and less centric on the explicitly tinker-focused races of Azeroth. But that said, that only needs to be a loose connection or 1 spec at best. As I suggested before, it could even just be the class resource and not much more, leaving cool tinkery and machine-like abilities without needing to be too bogged down by the titan-ness of it all.

Not looking forward to waiting another 4-6 years for a tech class, but hey I’ll be here, hoping and waiting regardless.

If the day does come, holy sprockets it’s going to be a banger of an xpac.

Saw those Earthen Exo-Suit mechs in the latest WoW Update video and remembered this thread. Oh the teasing is all too real. I love all of the new machines! Now let me play as one Blizz!!

Certainly feels like there’s a real chance.

There’s just so much tech in the game now, each race with their own take/ theme, that it’s jarring/discordant that we as players can’t play as a tech class ourselves.

We’ll see what TWW has to offer!

Something like this would be my preferred new class. Just give races their own art for important things like turrets and mechs and stuff. Most tech races already have some art for those things.

Would be a good class that could be available to most or all races. Tired of these new classes that are only available to 1 or 2 races.

Nah, I think the engineer profession is enough, we don’t need to enable those abominations called mechagnomes.

I think doing exactly what they’ve done for the Moonkin form is the play.

All races have their own exo-suit/turrets that are themed after their race’s aesthetic style, but then also have a modular-customization system if you want to customize it to something that deviates from that.

Would definitely love that personally!

I’ve never commented in forums but I came here (once again) to refer to the extreme teasing Blizzard is torturing us with. I mean… the delves mounts, machinespeakers, traders transmog set from two (three?) months ago… please decide: either you never develop the tinker class or stop giving me half of what I need. :frowning:
