I personally think Tinkers sound awesome and would actually prefer them over Necromancers. Necromancers would most likely just be a Unholy DK/Demo Warlock hybrid. While Tinkers could bring something entirely new and unique to the Class roster. They could fight in a giant mech, put down turrets, and have access to all sorts of other gadgets! Also, i can see Tinkers being a Mail wearing Class, which is something this game severely lacks.

I would prefer Necromancers as well, but hey, I wouldn’t say no to Tinkers. There’s plenty they can do with Tinkers with so many angles, and hell, if DnD can do it why can’t wow?

My biggest arguement against necromancers is really simple.

Unholy DK can already use Zombies, Skeletons, Skeleton Archers. Skeleton mages, Abominations, Gargoyles, and locusts.
AND they have abilities that buff those minions, all at once!

So Theoretically, A necromancer would:

  1. Not have any of those abilities
  2. Take those abilites away from Death Knight.

either way its a bad addition.

If we get tinker before necromancer…it will be the most clueless thing Blizzard has done yet. and they done some whoppers.

I think there’s plenty of room for both.
I mean if Paladins and Priest exist as different classes in game and basically do the same thing via melee vs ranged means. Why couldn’t Necromancers and DeathKnights?

Why is it clueless?
It’s loyal to the universe. easy to implement, and people want it.

Paladins use the Light and only the Light.

Priests use Light and Shadow.

Meanwhile. Death Knights use Blood Magic, Runic Magic, Bone Magic and Necromancy.
So… What else would necromancers have in lore that isn’t covered by death knight? More importantly, how would they be thematically different from each other?

Compare that idea to Tinkers, Who don’t have any thematic conflict.
They wouldn’t conflict with any existing classes, and aren’t currently represented by any existing classes.

Necromancer can not make that argument.

Simply put. Tinkers are the logical choice.

You appealled to originality when you brought up wc3, wow is a different beast, and plenty of gnomes and goblins employ robo buddies.

Just saying.

 What does that mean?

I’m not choosing between these ideas though. I simply prefer the Necromancers aesthetically. I want both Tinkers and Necromancers in the game at some point, sorry if I miscommunicated.

that’s fair. I Did.

I’d then argue that Mech suits and turrets are more synonymous with the idea though.

That’s fair, i’m sorry for being impassioned.
I just think Tinkers have an easier claim to being added. There’s less controversy, and it’s much easier to justify.

Not to mention. That feeling of fighting with Technology first and foremost is criminally under represented considering how frequent it is in Universe.

This is true.

There’s literally three races basically built out of this idea with different angles put to it. I do feel like it’s basically going to happen if they ever add another class to the game.

I can think of fire necromancy, before the LK’s fall they where trying to perfect fire magic through necromancy. They could work as a 2 spec class like DH’s also, one fire (not covered by DK) and the other more focus on actual necromancy then unholy DK’s Such as constantly raising temp minions mixed with DoT’s

Look my biggest thing with a mech class is actual diversity in aesthetic. If we in a mech and mostly or completely hidden yeah that’s mechanically similar to druid animal forms but over the years we have got some variance to those (and oh boi do I crave more. I hope more are coming with the barbershop change). Don’t wanna spend most of my time looking like every other tinker. Even DH meta form has some variance based on your appearance. Tho wish it was more.

Okay. Here’s an excellent excuse for me to pitch an original concept.
Kynrayia, if you’re on board I have a solution to your problem.

Imagine if you will:

The tinker class has a “Base” appearance for the mech. Perhaps with slight variance in the race you’re playing. It could also have customization options for color. Right?

Now Bear with me: What if the appearance for the mech changed based on your Talent choices.
For example, On Talent tier 15 you have 3 different options that augment your melee attacks.
One Turns your mech’s hands into Boxing Gloves. Another changes them to Shredder Blades, and another has them be the Classic clamp hands.

Thoughts?

That sounds like a cool idea, but allot of dev work. You sure indie company blizz can pull that off :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh i’m not holding out hope.

I do genuinely believe Tinkers are likely to be the Next class.

Beneath that, I have evidence to conclude that they would have Tank, Healer, and ranged DPS as their specs.

Other than those two things. Everything else is pure speculation

How about a class based on the firelord neutral unit from Wc3???

Naw, I saw goblin alchemist. Though I guess goblin alchemist abilities could be used as a heal spec for tinker. I just really want a ogre minion.

Horde Players: Playable ogres pleasE11! Blizzard: New Alchemist class comes with a ogre manservant (ogreservant?) that can be customised!
