I can’t think of a more boring class other than door to door salesman.

Melee?
DPS?

Healer?
Throwing smoke bombs and/or grenades are the least creative abilities I’ve ever heard.
Tinker would be the biggest waste of a class introduction. There’s so many other classes with better potential than a “Tinker”.

Personally don’t like the idea of a Tinker, and I don’t see Necromancer being super interesting either when we have Warlocks and Death Knights.
Gnome tinkers… That’s just ridiculous.
Make a spec that uses a flame or acid thrower and everyone will want to try it.
Tinker class would be like Monk. It won’t be heroic, it’s not like a DK in WotLK or DH in Legion (Arthas/Illidan.) Anyway though, the expansion would be based around it. Maybe after a timeskip Azeroth is in a different place technology-wise. Not sure, not clamoring for it.

Tinker seems underwhelming, but I could see it becoming cool. (Not as cool as necromancer or bard)
I’d imagine the race restrictions would exclude Tauren, Night Elf, Void/Blood Elves, Worgen, and Highmountain Tauren.
For the class to truly land, it’d have to have deep roots into the races that had access to it.
eg; A gnome’s tinkering would include gears and springs while a draenei’s tinkering would almost exclusively include crystals and energy.
If there was a one-size-fits-all tinkering class, the races would have to be cut down considerably and that would make the tinker class dull, as a result.
If they rolled out this milquetoast class, it would almost certainly require unparalleled customization to edge out better, (new to this game) class concepts.
