Each expansion starts at its level cap, because these are Heroics for that expansion.

Remix was an entirely different animal, due to the cloak and Vers scaling.

At least in this case we can turn experience off at level 20-whatever and deck that character out solely for TW. Just a shame we’d have to make one for each level bracket if we wanted them all optimal.

Part of Remix’s problem was that lowbies were gods but couldn’t turn off XP so it wouldn’t last forever.

Seems like the vast majority of players run the content primarily to speed-level alts, I just don’t see how the content avoids becoming dead with long queue times when it’s only a small minority of players actually using it to farm for cosmetics/mounts/etc

I’m gonna miss doing 3-4 hour “speed-leveling” sessions using twinked out tank specs and 6-7 minute dungeon runs with massive gigapulls

Why wouldn’t there be a point? They’re changing the scaling down to scaling up. Not the XP gains, as far as we know.

Not that I even know if I’m going back to retail at this point. I’ve just had zero motive to look into TWW.

for some reason they think the dungeons are suddenly gonna be slower than…
any other dungeon we have lmao. literally won’t make a difference, we’re wasting more time with these 1 shot wipes.

A change no one asked for, no one wanted, and only blizzard benefits by thinking if you take longer to kill something then that means you play more.

So this is normal Blizzard behavior.

Not only that, but you just know the goldfish-attention-span general public pugs (…who don’t read/check/keep up on the latest patch notes for the most part) WON’T get the memo and they’ll continue expecting massive AOE gigapulls from the tank - or continue doing AOE gigapulls “for” the tank

Now, with a tank character in full TW twink gear it’s still annoying when say… a pug Hunter rushes up ahead and mass-pulls the entire room with Barrage, but it’s still mostly survivable for me as the tank (due to wearing a mix of OP/twink gear and kiting). But now that twink gear will be nerfed, those same gigapulls could potentially be deadly :grimacing:

And healers will face a similar dilemma themselves - how to keep newly nerfed tanks alive thru said mega gigapulls, with twink gear suddenly being ruled out…

Out of a solid A+ post there’s one thing I must take issue with.

You take back that part about goldfish memories/attention spans. Goldfish have better memories than the meme gives them credit for.

Yeah, something is seriously wrong with some TW dungeons scaling. Level 80 Blood dk 605 with DRW up and getting instagibbed when impatient dps would pull more than 1 group.

Meanwhile after I would die in what feels like 2 hits, the level 30 fury warrior face tanked everything.

I thought this was timewalking, not MoP Remix?

“We dont know how to fix it so screw it, we will jsut scale everything up.”

Competency crisis is real and hitting blizzard hard and its showing bad.

I understand why they’re making this change. Scaling in TW has always been broken and wonky. Sometimes you could literally just hold the W key while the tank solo’s everything… and then sometimes you get 1-shotted by the trash.

Still, it won’t be as fun with no longer being able to use old legendaries. Maybe Blizzard can rework old Tier Sets and Legendaries so that their effects can work in TW content. Would be kind of fun mixing and matching old Tier Sets and Legendaries for some whacky, TW-only builds.

I’m ok with them making the dungeons take a little longer…but, it would be nice if they had some better dungeons in the map pools or included them all. I mean, what’s Burning Crusade without Ramps!?

This change will ruin TW. Blizzard devs making changes nobody asked for instead of fixing actual broken systems for current content.

I don’t like this change in that it makes timewalking dungeons harder to level with on characters that aren’t geared well. Sometimes when gearing characters from past expansions you have bad ilvl gaer and the ilvl gap gets wide. Timewalking was nice because it always gave you enough ilvl to do the dungeons. But now if you are really bad with item drops you may be so far behind in ilvl and that would fail as a leveling method. It would be nice if it guarenteed you at least a minimal ilvl boost to the dungeon level. Because it’s fun to level alts spamming old dungeons tbh.
