I haven’t been on top of WoW news when speaking about content. Where was it stated that it was supposed to be a dungeon with no timer?
So spread out the use of your CDs. Use them strategically if you want to have them throughout the entire floor. No one is saying you have to use all your cds in the first 5 except you on the other hand a timer is saying you have to blow through all your cds and play a specific way because if you don’t you might get kicked out of the content.
You have no clue what the vocal majority, minority is lol. Nobody does. This forum makes up 000.1% of the playerbase more than likely, and that’s being generous. Although it is entertaining seeing folks using the majority, minority words in this forum when they actually don’t have the slightest clue , will admit that
I’ve quoted the proof to you at least twice, above.
You stay vague with your words, and then change the meaning of the words to defend yourself from an attack.
You say “1+1=3”, someone replies saying “no, 1+1=2” and then you reply with “the number 3 has always existed in mathematics” or “all addition calculations use the plus symbol”.
You are being intellectually dishonest.

You’re wasting your time. I’m not budging.
Sounds terrible. So you could drums, lag out and die, then just have no more drums for that floor/area?
If my class is built around a 3 minute cooldown, even 6 uses of it in 30 minutes sounds really lame.
Click this link and look at the panel picture saying “variable layouts”. Timer goes against the core values of Torghast. People aren’t worried about timers being hard for performance, they think it will be annoying. It changes the pace from cautious exploration to a rush that doesn’t encourage the exploration goal.
1 would definitely be easier to convince Blizzard. Torghast was already being very well received until they did this. If they continue with this route the damage will be irreversable since they will have to balance every floor around it. The sooner they revert the better.
From the link …
your failures in Torghast are measured in deaths, not with a timer
At this point I’m not posting this to change your mind, but to show others how you are, and that you should not be bothered being debated with.
No need to put things in all caps. I simply asked a question. I’ll give you ground on that part. They stated…
By and large, your failures in Torghast are measured in deaths, not with a timer
It’s just to me, I don’t see a timer becoming a detriment to the experience. I can only hold my personal view though.
They balance it to whatever is appropriate. It probably wouldn’t be 1 outside of small floors but whatever they think is appropriate. With the timer there is going to be an ideal amount of cooldowns able to be done on each floor right? They have this number in mind when making the torments and they can set this number as the limit. You can’t be defending the timer and complaining about a limit as they are essentially the same thing.
welp, guess i won’t be doing torghast. speed is not an option for priests.
(((and that’s a good thing)))
Cool. Got anything else?
You’re not worth my time any more.
I don’t think a soft enrage is bad at all. Especially considering you’ll be 1 shotting essentially anything once you get the abilities that makes you strong.
You must be tired after all that so I can see why you’d say this.
In a timed situation, the ideal # of cooldown uses is the one that gives the highest possible buff uptime%. It’s like running a 5 man now. You either get to the first boss asap to use bloodlust or pull like a psycho and bloodlust on trash. Your incentive in a timed run is to use bloodlust as many times as possible.
Timers and cd limits are not essentially the same thing. One is the numerator the other is the denominator of the uptime equation.
better than getting hit by a mechanic (hot feet) and disconnected for doing your rotation and being detected as a movement bugger only to come back and find the timer killed you (this was a big problem for DH with visions)
That’s your opinion on it, and there is nothing saying they couldn’t give stacks of CDs for the tower exclusively or that you couldn’t build your tower draft to more fit your playstyle without punishing players who don’t want to play on a timer. I think you are getting caught in specifics rather than admitting there are other ways to resolve the design issue than throwing a timer at the problem which would be more in the spirit of slow exploration as the content was advertised before pre orders.
I still think a timer is the simplest way to handle things.
