And can you imaging the toxicity when you have to go answer the door and another party member is watching the timer?
Answer me honestly. Island adventureâs have a soft timer. Do you ever go in there and just explore?
If your answer is yes: Cool did you get to see everything or where you booted out too soon?
If your answer is NO: Well thatâs exactly why we feel this addition of a soft timer will hamper our enjoyment in exploring and enjoying this tower. We wonât feel the freedom needed to go anywhere but the specific route to avoid penalties from a soft enrage ticking away. Thus the original intent of this tower has now been lost to the âtimerâ.
How? limiting charges brings complaints from those that blow their charges early.
I think the issue, while what you say is a part of it, is more we are dealing with the extremes. There are those that want to think and methodically plan each and every move, then there are those that think it will take brute forcing the content to meet the timer.
Only if wanting to progress the key, there are quite a few that go for completion.
Very forgiving once you get cloak ranks and research
Only timer is the opposing team, which you can interfere with and delay
Nice try, but if it only increases when out of combat, would one mass pull or plan it so that when one pack/pull dies, they are already pulling the next? More or less leapfrogging the pulls to remain in combat as much as possible?
So there should just be a floor timer in Torghast? When it hits 0:00 the gate closes?
I could get behind that but I think people would be less than enthusiastic.
I think it does not go well in blizzard vison or goals for you to go OFF the path to explore the world.
They even said no timed runs in the shadow land
torghast panels
Blizzard originally wants it to be something not timed and you can explore each floor looking for stuff, maybe reading anime powers, thinking for a bit which one is best, etc.
Then puts in stuff like:
- Breath of Coldheart: The life-sapping breath of the Coldheart Interstitia reduces player damage the longer they remain on a floor.
- Might of the Upper Reaches: The Jailerâs might crushes opposition, increasing the physical damage players receive the longer they remain on a floor.
Like yeah, that sure is going to let people feel comfortable exploring what may end up being a dead end for 4 extra minutes and come back doing 20% less damage or taking 20% more damage.
They have cool mechanics and powers it just needs to be balanced. For instance one of the bosses spawns adds that shoot projectiles and you can either choose to ignore the adds and kill the boss or kill some of the adds while fighting the boss to lessen the projectiles but you are slowly getting overwhelmed by adds and it has had some intense fights on the streams. Keep the mobs, bosses, and traps interesting is all you need. Some other minor puzzles and enviromental traversing could be cool too. Timers have no place here.
So if I were saying things that agreed with you, it wouldnât be trolling huh. Interesting.
You want Blizzard to compromise on timers, but you donât even seem willing to try it. Thatâs your problem.
Alright instead of me playing your childish semantics let me give you an explanation. The fact that you can rest in between floors does not make this change acceptable because the debuffs scale the difficulty such that players will eventually be forced to leave the dungeon if they do not complete the floor within a certain TIME LIMIT. Now i want you to clarify how this is not the case, i donât want you to tell me why you think is a good thing i want you to explain to me how this is not the case which is the argument youâve been trying to make from the start of the thread.
That isnât the only solution, but itâs much more surgical in precision. Only a few classes even have lust. Compare with all of the people who donât want to play timed content. Just adding a blanket timer is a huge overreaction. You can limit charges, only have the cooldown run for x% out of combat, there are different ways to handle it that donât change the entire paradigm and make it a nonstarter for a big chunk of players.
Weâre fighting for their souls, not ours.
We can just move on to another game if WoW finally dies.
Timers are stupid, and alienating to the majority of their customers, the ones that pay a monthly subscription fee.
Stopped here.
^ Do this and then Iâll be interested. Otherwise youâre wasting your time. When an accusation is made, you should be able to prove it right?
I see where weâre disagreeing. To me: 1. Torghast is content. 2. If you take longer on floor 1, then floor 2 is harder, and so forth. 3. Torghast is content that gets harder the longer you spend in an area.
That is harder content, to me.
Where does that fall short for you?
We DID TRY IT, Mythic plusâŚwe didnât like it! So they said OK we will build you these towers without timersâŚthen they went back on their word.
THUS A+B=C we are Now upset!
Now weâre talking. Iâd even play with timers if I could bust out a kamehameha.
With the debuff they would have the exact same complaint. Limiting charges seems like it would work well if thatâs the case.
So it also doesnât need a timer?
I never said it was hard it just doesnât encourage exploration and isnât very fun.
Lots of the torments increase in combat as well.
So much this. The speed runners have their niche. They just want more of the game to be tailored to their playstyle, at the expense of people who were looking forward to something different geared to no timers.
Go back to M+ if you want timed rewards.
So, can I face the mob, take a look at the names, see how Iâll fight against them on Wowhead, switch the tabs e pull? If this research takes like 10 minutes is that fine? Yes 10 minutes or maybe more because I like to read all the comments.
So youâre currently not running Keys is that correct?
So a race thru it as fast as you can to make it easier. Still a race not harder content. Why not make every floor increase everything by a %, damage taken damage done to you, health of mobs ect ect. the higher you go the harder it gets. Not the faster you go the higher you get.
But Blizzard will do whatever they want they donât care what it does or who it affects. Torghast is DoA for me. Donât care if i ever step foot in it now.
