Yes. What I would like to know is why should the tower be different, you’re entering his domain so he’d double down, if anything. But I’d also like to see what you’re referring about the Blizzard thing, if you have a link i’d love to see it.
This kinda reminds me of Dungeoneering in RuneScape. No timer whatsoever but still fun and challenging the farther you go.
So you must know that all the legendary mats are below the 10th floor and the timer only turns on after the 10th?
Someone sitting 15 hours trying to figure out how to beat something, is more intuitive than someone racing against a timer.
Someone speed running the instance in 6 minutes is not going to be affected by a petty timer.
Someone playing as a healer or tank, will be more negatively affected by the timer than someone playing as a DPS.
It’s more than just “reward only for top tier players”. The reward alone should’ve been difficulty. Not which of us 20 and 30 year olds have the hand eye coordination in speed to pull and nuke things quickly. Someone whose in their 40s - 60+ are more affected by this timer just by age alone.
The timer is not difficulty. The timer is an annoyance that doesn’t attribute to difficulty. It’s only testing how fast you can go. Things should’ve got more difficult in shear numbers, dangerous mobs or more.
Your logic for why the timer should stay, is not a reasonable reason why it should stay. When the latter options are better for the player base across all skill ranges evenly.
You can plan ahead while in the rest area.
Now, as much as I can see your point on this, I firmly believe that merit is the ultimate deciding factor here.
And then race though the floor (i.e. the content) to the next rest area. Whee.
The timer only exists in the threshold above gameplay rewards. IE, it exists beyond the range in which you have to do the tower for legendary materials, and those materials don’t drop above that floor.
So what’s the problem with more challenge? You seem to have a counterintuitive view of what challenge and difficulty are.
People should be able to push their characters to the absolute limit if they choose to. Everyone has access to hero if they want to use it, there’s nothing unfair about it. A timer is just there to tell you that you aren’t playing the way they want you to.
You’ve already done the content by that point. The only thing beyond that is difficulty.
They could add in Dark Souls type difficulty in the tower in place of a timer by respawning everything if you die, if they don’t already, and giving you a small debuff if you die on a floor. But I’d argue where is the urgency? You could sit there and relax and come up with a detailed strat which would remove some of the difficulty. Dark Souls also can be cheesed somewhat and made significantly easier with the right builds. You can also invite overpowered people into your world to help carry you.
In fact, you can invite friends in this dungeon right? Soft timer or no you can get carried by better geared friends than yourself. I think the timer needs to stay.
So debuffs that tic every 60 or 120 sec is now gogogo? Aight.
I’m not seeing the problem anyway. It will take my time, not yours. If I want to spend my entire weekend to complete 1 floor it’s only up to me.
If only the 11+ level will have the timer (someone said it), you can just run 1-10 to get the items. Maybe you can do it faster than someone trying to clear a higher floor just for fun.
So again, not seeing any problem if the pull will takes 1 or 2 hours, your gameplay will not change, you can run it faster or slower.
The only reason they are doing it is to attach some currency you must farm.
How else will they rant without a sub
Here is the link to what I’m referring to, scroll down a bit to the panel pictures and under “Variable Layouts” they mention the pacing intentions.
And it’s not strictly timed. The dungeon gets progressively harder the longer you take to get through it.
They’re not going against any promises they made.
It’s supposed to get harder with each floor. Why does a floor need to become harder when you’re still on it?
Wait, i’m confused…
So there isn’t a timer, it just gets harder?
LOL
I’m getting more and more confused to more I invest in this. I should just ignore all this GD rage.
It doesn’t. The floor you’re on doesn’t become harder as you take longer. Progressive floors do. It’s a sort of soft cap; think of it as a soft enrage mechanic. It might not instantly wipe you out, but it’s gonna get a lot harder.
Thank you, I do see what you mean about the layout. I still hold the opinion that the tower should have these effects, as you are entering the domain of the Jailer and I can’t imagine him being happy about it, so debuffs sticking on you the more you stay, much like trapping the place with a deadly gas, still makes sense to me. If he can’t catch you he might as well put things that will make you question pushing further.
There’s a soft timer. The longer you take to clear floors, the harder progressive floors become. It’s honestly more of a soft cap than a soft timer. But strictly speaking, there’s no timer that boots you out of the tower.
I would. This is normal for GD.
