Thats not an exploit. X’D
WoW Levelling teaches you the combat system??
Given how ridiculously fast it is to level a character now, even without the warband bonuses, you barely completely an instance before you’re given 3-4 more talents to use.
It is intended, and it’s been this way for a very long time.
A realistic statement would be that it’s unhealthy for the game, not that it’s unintended. It’s literally a design choice by Blizzard.
That’s a different scenario. That has nothing to do with this, because Blizzard doesn’t intend for there to be gold loops, but they did intend for low level characters to over-perform in order to keep up with geared players.
Sorry, it’s just not a realistic or fair comparison, the two aren’t related in nature at all.
As others have pointed out, damage meters scale the numbers to your level.
It’s all based on health percentages. The level 10s are fighting mobs with like 800 health and killing them in, you know, 1-4 shots depending on what kind of twink. On your end, that mob has 40 million health, so the damage your meter is displaying is based on that instead.
The twink is actually doing like 300-1k DPS on their end, with 1k being like an Evoker popping a big int trinket and blowing their full empower breath directly into disintegrate and then the boss is dead.
That aside, it’s not broken scaling. It’s exactly what Blizzard intended. a Regular level 10 in Heirlooms will demolish your level 80 DPS too. The weird scaling is like 85% of why Twinks at that level are so strong. Obviously they’re optimizing it, but it’s not broken, it’s just Blizzard not caring enough to tune it more tightly because it’s leveling content.
They should really revert the changes.
Moving a bit slower is worth it to be able to use old gear again.
Horrible changes to not let us use legendaries in older content
Yeah no. I’ve done most of these dungeons dozens and dozens of times each (often times when they were current) and have zero interest in them being arbitrarily made harder out of some wierd sense of spite towards low level characters that fresh 80’s are expieriencing.
okay but have you considered that anything i don’t like is an exploit??
Right?? Oh no. Please don’t make me auto run.
Oh dang, good point!
Having a level 11 character one shotting the entire dungeon you Q up for is a broken scaling. No body is supposed to go around and one shot stuff. Blizzard did not intend for people to go god mode in a dungeon you Q up for.
No, they definitely should revert the changes so we can use our legendaries again
Nah. It’s already stupid easy and reverting things so that a comparatively minor selection of character can benefit would make the game worse overall.
I call it a happy accident.
How about an energy system for dungeons, like in mobile games? You get 3 energy cells and can do one dungeon per cell. It takes 8 hours to regenerate one cell.
This way, people will be discouraged from spamming as many dungeons as fast as possible.
For the last damn time, low level twinks aren’t an exploit.
They exist because the scaling system is crap.
Here’s a short clip of a brand new level 10 Resto Shaman in nothing but unenchanted, un-gemmed heirlooms (no 2nd ring) and the greens he spawns into the world with:
Point being, this is a Blizzard issue. Twinks are not exploiting. It’s just how the game works. This is not a twink character. This is a fresh level 10. You can argue that the scaling is tuned poorly - because yes, it is – But twinks doing what they do is hardly any different from someone just happening to be a level 10.
I’m down for Blizzard to tune the scaling to be less insane, but no one is exploiting by playing at a low level. It’s just how it’s tuned.
Not sure why folks are worried about debating semantics. If they end up with a 3 or 10 day ban, then they will know they were wrong. But if they never get banned and Blizz eventually fixes the scaling issue, then they will know they were OK.
The easiest way to do the dungeon at your own pace is to have four friends or Guild mates go with us. let’s face it. We’ve all spent the last six weeks or more doing the same content so we’re not really missing out on anything if we take a break and go to other stuff. This whole thread has just gotten absolutely silly.
It’s not an exploit and it’s not a bug. It’s a scaling issue with an easy workaround. Whether or not it is actual abuse we will find out when it gets fixed. until then, everyone is fighting about pixels in a video game.
if they are really common i may want to start levelling again. i want to be in groups with these people
I don’t think anyone should be banned or actioned IN ANY WAY for this to make that completely clear. I would like Blizzard to work on their game.
I think it equates to exploiting their horrible design. But the problem is the horrible design.
like I said. It’s blizzard’s game and it’s their call. If it’s not an exploit, there’s nothing to worry about if it is an exploit and they find out that people were absolutely abusing the crap out of it then they can decide what the punishment is. It’s not my judgment call and it’s not my place to decide. I’m just saying that if they do go down that path that would be the most common version of the ban. either way we can end this silly debate and people can just start using common sense.
