you do know it dosent mean they are a better player right? my point is folks think that number is everything but its nothing
Thatâs not true though. You can do any content ya want with the right folks. Mythic raidinâ casually might be difficult, but you could probably fine a group that isnât in a rush and takes things one step at a time. Raid lockout makes things a bit easier as well since you donât have to start from scratch any longer.
The levels of elitism I see in retail compared to TBC classic are pretty insane, agree with OP.
However, the content in retail is way, way more difficult now than it ever has been, so you need the very best players to clear the content. I personally will never take someone worse than me at the game if iâm forming a group for anything.
Some examples: Iâm forming a mythic +20 and I get an application from a ilvl 200 m+ 0 hunter. Am I an elitist for declining? No iâm just saving myself the time of the group instant disbanding when he wipes us on first pull.
Or hey lets say iâm trying to clear heroic and 1 healer is significantly underperforming. I give them 2 pulls as chances but itâs become clear we canât clear this boss with them in the raid. Am i elitist for kicking them in favor of a more skilled toon?
If you want to avoid elitism all you have to do is join a guild. Guildies prefer guildies for everything, and are very harsh on pugs. If you have their tag on your toon, you get into the content theyâre doing (assuming you meet the bare minimum requirements).
LoL.
Remember 1337 speak? They even had their own alphabet back then.
what are you talking about and dont be rude
Itâs not âtoxicâ to get sat for a raid bossâŚ
It just sounds like they sat the wrong person.
My experience with other players is overwhelmingly positive. Imo of people are constantly running into âtoxicâ players then itâs time to look for the common denominator
That depends on the player and what their opinion of what a good player is.
No itâs not everything.
I disagree. It does matter in harder content. Just because players donât look at all aspects of that meter the way you would doesnât mean the tool is bad. It means you need to find like minded people to play with.
Just get good, brah.
I agree.
Funny how the more entitlement we see the more âtoxicityâ and âelitismâ there is.
I doubt anyone in WoW is a role model - EXCEPT some in real life! If I used anyone as a role model in WoW I think Iâd
So people who play football and look at Messi as a role model make you throw up too?
If a new player wants to get into raiding they arenât going to turn to someone that only completes pet bettles and other solo content.
Like witchcraft, once you start looking youâll never stop finding it.
WoW is not football! Itâs a silly, but entertaining video game.
PS - donât get me wrong, getting help in dungeons is a nice and a good way to learn, but I donât know this person: does he beat his wife, is another an alcoholic that doesnât take care of her kids to play WoW - IDK!
Toxicity really only happens in pugs from my experience.
They are both just hobbies for the vast majority of people who do them and carees for a small amount. I donât see a difference. Both are recreational activities that people do for fun.
Well that edit certainly came out of no where.
You donât know if role models from anywhere else do that too. Hell look at bill cosby for example. Look up to by so many for years. Oops
Doesnât mean you canât look at someoneâs gameplay and want to play more like them.
because they arenât honest enough to admit that they donât want to run with each other.
I dont play with addons.
This is true - I just thought using the term ârole-modelâ was/is a little strong for a game like WoW. My definition of role-model is a little deeper. - thatâs all - PS - & I guess the emoji was a little bit of an overreaction⌠Iâll take the hit on that one
i definitely want to run with evryone thats why i made this post weekend warrior bob should have a seet at the table i think
