Time for no addon no macro servers. You know so we can finally not compete with cheaters

So….who’s going to scroll back and tally up the votes? Lol

Everyone loves to hate on addons but doesnt stop to think that perhaps disabled people use them so we can literally play the game?

This game because of its addons can actually be played by blind people and not have their gameplay hindered.

This game can be played by those with mobility issues in their hands (minus dragonriding)

There are tons of different disabilities that prevent one from playing the base game with no support for adaption.

I am disabled and the majority of the addons I use are to help with my disabilities. I dont use weakauras. I use things to help my lack or mobility in my hands and assist the fact my vision sucks.

Takeaway addons and then every disabled person who needs one to play in even somewhat of an even playing field is forced out of a game they love. Think of it akin to taking ones wheelchair or hearing aid away because thats what removing addons would do.

The fact that we have gone this long without any of these things implemented into the base UI is beyond my comprehension. What other game has a barrier to entry like mandatory add-ons for one of their game modes?

I’m surprised the WoW pvp community has managed to hold on this long. Because we are getting almost zero new blood.

Exactly. But it really goes beyond that. It’s not that they just permitted the functionality, it’s that they actually built the game to allow for it. Blizzard game all those tools so players and developers could improve upon the game AND I would argue that part of the games success was due do this. Giving players a way to customize their experience made the game better. You could look at the UIs of 10 random players and I bet you will find 10 UIs that are completely different. Different layouts. Different keys. Different macro types. Different addons. etc. etc.

Allowing addons allows blizzard to devote more of its resources to other aspects of the game. Essentially, it’s a way to increase the size of their dev team without extra cost.

(And if you think Blizzard isn’t constantly working on this game at its full capacity, then you have an unrealistic view of how much work, effort, and resources it takes to make something like this)

Macros exist because of the hardware limitations. Not enough buttons for everything. If you think about it from the perspective of attempting to simulate what a character in this world would be able to do, then it makes more sense. The character’s “brain” would be able to activate their racial passives and class cooldowns (not on the gcd) all at the same time with a single thought. Things like that.

Sure, you could extrapolate this and say that macros do some things that are unnatural, like complex profession macros. But in reality, people build habits so strong in real life that they can execute automatically without thought. Studies actually show that brain activity goes down while people do things that are habit. In this way a macro is also a simulation of reality and a way to bypass the limitations of hardware.

This is why over the years they have further and further restricted what macros and addons can do. It’s why they blocked projected textures (from weakauras) and things like that. Original Vanilla WoW had way fewer restrictions. People just didn’t know how to use it to its full extent back then. The knowledge base of both the community and Blizzard has grown exponentially over the years.

How about you post on your main instead of hiding behind an alt?

I guarantee your not getting past 2k rating every season dude.

As such your opinion has no relevance.

Hurdur pixel rating

it matters most

Too op,ban it.

Sounds like copium from someone who’s just not very good at the game

Exactly what I brought up to OP. It’s not rocket surgery… They just don’t even try to consider the negative impacts.

If I was forced to use the standard UI, vs something like ElvUI, just no thanks. One can like the game but hate on the default UI.

So what is it? Whats your io rating? How about raiding? 9/9 mythic, heroic, normal?

Knowing your experience matters.

I still find it hard to believe people dont get past 2k rating :joy:.

What about those of us that dont play competitively anymore because we have a life and just play the game casually like i do? Im not getting any younger but i still love the game itself. I enjoy playing and leveling alts and professions. I enjoy wandering the world and experiencing the game that tons of people dedicated time to design around what they thought would make players fall in love with and enjoy. I have addons and they make the game easier to play as i get older and updates get made. Some things in the game i would be lost without certain addons. Is it cheating? I really dont think so. Cheating would be breaking the rules in order to have an unfair advantage. These addons help people play the game a bit easier. Cheating would be hacking the game, as a friend once did, and give yourself unlimited health, mana, energy, rage, etc. He even made it so he could fly around the game without a mount going hundreds of feet per second. That is a cheat. These offer assistance to people, and thats it.

If they think they’re taking my HealBot away, they can screw right off!

Why should anyone take you serious bud, you are 2k xp in 2s and 3s. Clearly you don’t know wtf you doing with addons, imagine without addons. If you were a multi glad xp player and or rank 1, I would understand, but you are not. So sit down and git gud.

Cheating is defined as breaking as established rule. As there is no rule against add ons or macros (in fact they’re endorsed by blizzard) is is by definition not cheating. How about instead of asking the game to change just for you why not adapt to the game and use add ons and macros like everyone else. Or not but there are consequences for that you have to accept. Just like if you choose to play without talents.

I would love a sever that didn’t allow add-ons. Tired of the extra lag on the servers from the unnecessary pinging of the servers over and over and over again.

Its amusing how many defend the uses of them but are mad about the current macros ect. YOU LITERALLY HAVE ADDONS THAT TELL YOU WHEN A CD IS USED. Its the same thing. YOu wouldnt have reacted in most cases the way did without having this information flashed on your screen. Keep up the cope though with that crutch.

The entire reason for posting on an alt is so that people focus on your content.

Not your character.

That said pretty sure if you check-pvp you can get all my characters. Someone did it in the other thread and I had to go through an entire discussion about why PvP rating (hurrdurr pixel numbers) is the least important thing when we are talking about game quality. You guys are so lost in the sauce you can think of nothing but how anything would affect your video game rating. VIDEO GAME RATING. If you care that much, but aren’t a rank 1 or/and making money off PvP you are a bigger failure than me. Lol getgud.

Sorry to disappoint you degenerates, but I don’t play for rating. I even have used addons and weak auras to hide it from myself. I get lost in it and forget to play for enjoyment.

If that means my opinion doesn’t matter to you then you should just move along and realize you are a dink. Completely pathetic that people have said that opinions need a skill floor to matter.

Average players have opinions too. The average casual player has gone away from this game.

The ladder desperately needs an influx of the casual player back.

The elitism in PvP community is disgusting. “hurddur rating your opinion doesn’t matter”.

Well you are part of the problem. That attitude is part of the problem. Get over yourself.

Pathetic

Sorry for being an average player who doesn’t prioritize rating. At this point if that bothers you feel free to excuse yourself from the discussion.

Thank you.
