its been over 2 days for me and I still haven’t had a response.
I can’t use the battle net launcher because its stuffed and has been since the patch.
Is anyone going to fix that or give me a credit for the time I haven’t been able to use the game?

Have you been able to run the game via wow.exe ?
Have you completely reinstalled the launcher?
Defined “stuffed”.
Have you worked through all of the suggestions in the article that was linked? https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/255784
Ticket times are long right now, you might get more help on the technical support forum before your ticket gets answered.
You are unlikely to get any game time credit as they generally wouldn’t reimburse for problems with your computer, but once it is fixed you can always ask, sometimes they’ll spot you some anyway.
Just saw your post in tech support, but seems you’re unwilling to go through fault finding - Windows defender is the likely culprit that’s blocking the launcher.
It’s been suggested to temporarily disable it to see if that was indeed the issue. If it is the issue, then the fix falls into the hands of Microsoft.

Seems you just posted a reply. Try again without using the quote system.
Have you tried what I suggested 4 hours ago?
Two words connected by a period mark make a link, such as battle . net. Battle.net
Not working there now, odd. B.com. Google Google.com
good luck man! my ticket is at 3+ weeks with no response. starting to think i should just chargeback my purchases
A chargeback is not a great option. It can lock your account completely and you do have to pay those back if you wish to come back at a later date.
Wait times are not a convenience at the moment, it’s been acknowledged. Especially when you first posted about this the wait time was only a week, but has only gone up since then.
They usually do, but players tend to use options that are not appropriate to their situation. Phone and live chat would have been perfectly fine though for this player and hopefully once the queues are back to normal they can return. Unfortunately many companies are still recovering from the out of office aspects of out of office work due to covid, and the effects of low staffing across many industries, not just with Blizzard.
There is no phone number to call Blizzard for help. I looked online before posting this.
It’s not windows defender and I can’t turn that off even if I wanted to.
I have been through the steps to try and fix this. The only thing I haven’t done is reset windows 10 back to basic. I am not formatting a computer that is working fine and was working fine before the patch. I don’t have the data allowance to reinstall or update windows 10. And I am not resetting a computer that does not need resetting because it takes a day to do, and it doesn’t need to be reset.
Regarding my terminology when I say the update launcher is stuffed.
When I first launched the game World of Warcraft, I can login and it loads up to the realm list. The realms are in red and so is incompatible, which is on all the realms under population, which means it needs an update. So the game is working fine at this stage. I shut down the game and then tried to load the battlenet launcher. The battlenet launcher came up with the following comment.
'Battle .net. Update Agent went to sleep. Attempting to wake it up…
More Help: BLZBNTBNA00000005"
I checked the link and did the steps, turn off pc and reboot it. Flush modem router. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the battlenet launcher, etc. It didn’t make any difference.
Then Blizzard did an emergency shutdown to fix something, but they didn’t say what.
After that emergency shut down, I tried the battlenet launcher and got the following message.
“games .oops
An error occurred while loading game information:
Woops! Looks like something broke (or crashed). Please try restarting Ballte .net and/ or your computer.
More help: BLZBNTBNA 00000005”
Same link as before. I turned the battlenet launcher off and turned the computer off and rebooted it. Tried again and got the previous response (Battlenet update agent went to sleep. Attempting to wake it up… above mentioned code).
I turned everything off and tried again 12 hours later and got the following response.
“Something went wrong while trying to launch a program. Please try restarting battle .net and / or your computer.”
That was in a small pop-up window that appeared on top of the battlenet launcher.
The actual battlenet launcher had the message “battlenet update agent went to sleep, etc.”
same bs and code as previously mentioned.
I tried to uninstall battlenet several times and download and install a new version. The first few times it uninstalled and wouldn’t install. It came up with the following message.
“We’re having trouble launching the battle .net Update Agent. Please wait one minute and try again. If it happens again, try restarting your computer or reinstalling Battle .net.

I tried uninstalling it and the files didn’t uninstall, and have actually been moved to a different file now. Previously the battlenet folder was in the C: programs (x86). Now the battlenet folder is in the wow folder.
I did a system restore on my computer to 1 week before the patch and tried again. I got the same message above saying were having trouble launching the installer. If it continues contact customer support.
I had already contacted customer support (submitted a ticket on Wednesday). I have also posted on the forum under tech support. I have not heard anything from anyone. It’s Saturday now. I have done everything I have been told to do. This wasn’t an issue before the patch and is directly related to the patch. The last thing I did with the computer was play wow on Tuesday night just before the shut down. I turned the computer off after the shutdown closed the game. I tried using the game on Wednesday and this started.
The update launcher is stuffed and has moved the files to a different folder on the C: drive. I didn’t do that, blizzard’s download software did it.
Resetting windows10 to an earlier date has not fixed this.
I can’t even uninstall the battlenet launcher now because it can’t find it.
Blizzard stuffed something up with their patch. And in the mean time I can’t do the hallows end achievements and I am going to miss out on getting a toy and costumes from the vendor. I got game time specifically for this holiday event and I am missing it because of their rubbish patch and unwillingness to respond or help fix the issue. And yes I am upset.
To be clear, the support line was retired a long time ago in favor of the callback/live chat system. This was due to the fact multiple people would call it for support that was not appropriate to the line, causing the line to back up for hours of calling before even getting into the system to get put on hold. In a time when most cell phone plans was pay by minute systems where you could get charged with a long hold time, only to get a drop call.
Did you check with the tech support forum?
I believe you can move your install path with out reinstalling the game in the launcher, and if not simply moving it back to a different folder, then using the launcher to relocate the new install.
It can help with windows issues, often never really does for software installs.
And just to check, you placed this ticket under a technical support path, not a generic path, and included the information requested?

You know, Vrak warned you about going from thread to thread and spewing nonsense. You are welcome to submit your feedback and suggestions in the proper venue, but popping around CS isn’t the place for it. The forums as a whole, I would avoid so as to not jeopardize your posting privileges, since you’ve got a touch of a problem with being constructive with your criticism, but you can certainly submit it through the in-game interface.
They removed the number because too many people were misusing it and they could help people far more timely through live chat and tickets. Right now is an anomaly, it is not normally this bad.
The link I provided gave multiple things to try that you have not acknowledged trying. Have you done any of them?
i put in a ticket at launch week, it’s current wait time is over 28 days
Did you check the ticket status?
https://us.battle.net/support/en/case
If you care to share what the ticket was about.
Week of launch of prepatch DF, or WLK classic?
finally got an automated reply at day 33. put in another ticket at - get this - 39 days wait time. fun stuff.
oh sorry, it was week of launch. the ticket was about whether or not the reins of the blue drake dropped in wotlk classic. it doesnt. and it should.
there’s no need to ticket for that. you would want to submit a bug report.
