Three guildies banned at once (Incorrectly and falsely flagged)

Hi, I know gms and such do not have anything to do with this page however I was wondering if anyone has insight as to what may have happened here. I’d also like to mention that I’m posting on their behalf as they cant due to the account bans.

Two days ago the three separate accounts were banned all at once, their last login and play session was just them doing some heroics to gear up their 3-4th alts. At this point we as a five man group/guild have been playing continually for the past few months and have gotten into raiding the current Firelands raid. However now three of my core guys are now perma banned for the Offense: Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized Cheat Programs (Hacks).

This is the first offense of any kind one their accounts, there was zero prompt for this and it was whacked without notice. Again prior to our playtime in cata we had played SOD together and hardcore the last few years. These are people Ive known since school. Their accounts have been consistent and active, blizzards logs I would imagine can confirm this as well as the flagging.

Now there are a few possible reasons for this mis flag.

One being they have recently replaced a router due to it malfunctioning around Christmas time, I’m not sure if this messes with the connectivity side of things (changing IP or connections)

Two, the three that play are family so they are always connected from the same place, same IP, usually for the most part at the same time. They had also just recently quested through twilight highlands together as a trio. So I’m not sure if this couldve been flagged as botting, multiboxing or account sharing.

Lastly as Ive stated they have been active consistently. Raid logging, leveling, just generally on the game a ton. At this points its been two days, about 15+ tickets between the three of them. I’m aware there’s nothing else they can do but smash their headings into bliz.

However this is disheartening to say the least, I got my guys into this game and now its looking like we may be forced to quit all together. I’d just like someone to shed some light as to what it could’ve been.

Thanks.

Nobody will tell you that. It’s between them and Blizzard.

That is unhelpful. Its clear that they cannot disclose that however I’m looking for insight from people who have had this happen to them falsely and just generally what screws innocent people over.

Opening multiple appeal tickets at a time isn’t going to help. Open one, and wait on the response. Then open another. They can keep appealing until Blizzard tells them no more appeals.

Sadly, that isn’t something that Blizzard nor the blues here can really say. More so when it’s related to:

This is something they won’t be able to say as any info related to this class of action would be used by bot programmers to bypass how Blizzard is finding programs.

yes they have been opening them one at a time. Again I’m not asking anyone to disclose stuff they cant or would assume they can. I just want to know if there’s people out there if they have had this happen and what they did. If you aren’t that then this info isn’t helpful

Because you don’t like the response?

All you’re going to get is unrelated speculation. It could have been from many reasons.

Usually means Warden, Blizzard’s anti-cheat system, has detected something on their computer/s.

Could even be something used for work from home purposes, to automate processes - like Autohotkey for example. Even if not used on WoW, if it’s detected it’ll flag the account for investigation.

It has nothing to do with feelings or anything like that. What you said there is helpful however. I will ask them if they have anything work related for automation.

Simply put: They don’t, the appeal team who handle this don’t take outside information, or talk about it with the person. The appeal is just a request for them to review the logs to see if there was any errors.

So they review the logs, however is this actually anyone doing it thoroughly or are they just being stone walled with gms that cant action anything of use?

If reviews were useless, then there simply wouldn’t be the option to open one.

Otherwise, each review tends to be a different set of eyes looking at the data to see if a mistake was made or if the account action is to be upheld.

Every apeal handled by real persron despite what the trolls are saying otherwise yes false flags do happen but extremly rare.

Yes thoroughly, a specialist team of GM’s. Before the initial action, and upon every single appeal. Blizzard doesn’t take account lightly. It’s honestly the last thing Blizzard wants to impose.

Agreed the tickets would be handled by a person or people of some sort. So if initially specialist were on this before the action was taken we can trust then that the action was correct?

Obviously I’m still disagreeing and that it was false. Other then the repeated tickets what customer support options are open. Is the chat online still a thing? how do they get person to person contact atleast in this scenario.

if its the last thing blizzard wants to impose is there a way other then this god awful ticket system to atleast be heard because its a pretty dire action.

Live chat never been for this and its not likely coming back any time soon.

The website says that it is there though?

That and phone support was never, and have never, been for appeal. The appeals team is only able to be contacted via ticket. They’re not going to be able to debate it with the person regardless.

So they are left with no choice then? ticket until they cant and then not play?

So innocent players though rare must accept this sorta thing then?

Live chats been down for over a year and acording to vrak he doesnt see ot coming back in the forseeable future.
