Thrall got his Mojo back

Might’ve created conflict and story depth beyond someone screaming like they’re taking the most difficult sh i te of their lives right before AWAKENING THEIR LONG LATENT ANCESTRAL POWAHS!!!

Theoretically, with practice, Jaina at least could probably learn to bend substitute magics to her will while in the shadowlands. Thrall though, death elements are weird. Why do spirits need air?

Shamans aren’t elementals only. They’re also ancestral worshipers. Their speedy form is literally a ghost wolf.

Yes but isn’t their primary offensive capability from the elements? The spiritual side is more of a ceremonial, spirit guide kind of deal.

Maybe. Might even be more likely than not. Might be that some ghosts have power over elements.

But really elements seem like building blocks for every realm. Every realm needs them in some degree. Makes sense to me that Shamans can still commune with the literal elemental spirits.

:man_shrugging:

If they tied to go that route by logic no outside force would be able to invade the Shadowlands or it would immediately loose all strength. I imagine a mage has to strain harder to gather up arcane power in the shadowlands, but it should be there to some degree just… in a far lesser concentration than in the mortal plane.

As for shamans, calling forth aid would again be harder, I suppose, but like any planar being the elementals can reach into (or be summoned into) other domains and interact.

…and yeah, elementals are technically planar beings, they are just native to the same plane we normally live on, so we do not think about them that way often.

Then why would ours?

They are not that strong, not even close. They need to be as strong as Jaina, malfurion or tryande. We still haven’t seen what turlyon and alleria can do.

The horde has no one. As other mentioned A team consisting of Thalyrssa, Talanji, zul and other couldn’t put up a fight against Jaina.

This is not Thrall. Thrall has left blizzard.

Yes this would effect a few class, like pallys, druids as well.

Shamans can use spirit magic and use other elements out side of earth, fire, wind and water like death & decay.

The issue with this notion is that if the Horde had that during BFA, they’d just lay waste to the Alliance while the Alliance powerhouses go, “gosh I shouldn’t be too hard on these guys, that’d be awful” or “there’s more important, world-sized threats to take care of” and back off.

“But they wouldn’t write them that way if they were that strong,” you might say. But I point to them making Rexxar go hog wild on Kul Tiras for no reason other than “Jaina has gone too far”, despite Jaina having not done anything to warrant his involvement. Whatever they were planning to have Jaina do while she was all DAUGHTER OF THE SEA mode, they wrote it out and just made Rexxar look like a guy who was eager to hop onto the murder-train to kill Kul Tirans for daring to be on “Horde land”. Manifest destiny, anybody?

Would they? I don’t think so. Only instance is when they try to kidnap thrall and thrall go OP on them.

in the middle of descending army, with greymane, anduin, and others closing in as well.

i don’t think thalyssra would beat jaina, since jaina seems to now have aegwynn’s power, but to point to this specific situation isn’t indicative of her willingness to battle with jaina.

as for thrall, it was always about self-doubt. the elements felt his shame and shaken faith in himself, and abandoned him for it. now he’s got his confidence back, and they feel it.

as for them projecting their power into the shadowlands, it’s, imo, no different than when they do it into the nether. there’s probably some kind of spiritual link created between a shaman and the elementals, and them projecting their power through it isn’t a leap. the shadowlands is just another plane, like the nether.

Jaina was in the same situation, still killed Bwonsamdi-empowered Rastakhan, and still had time to gloat from a ledge at Talanji.

He does? When did this happen? Both he and Aggra keep making obnoxious comments about how he feels guilted into coming back to the Horde, and implying he doesn’t really want to be there. He’s just as mopey as he’s been for the last few expansions.

His Mom really needs to kick his butt a bit. Same with Cairne and “worthless” Baine.

Perhaps Thrall will use this restored power to save Garrosh’s soul in Revendreath by beating humility into him.

jaina wasn’t in the same situation, she had a small legion of soldiers aiding her as well.

like i said, i don’t think thalyssra would beat her 1v1, but i think thalyssra probably knows more than jaina.

not sure when it happens, maybe the torture in torghast spurns him into hardening his resolve back.

but that is the only way his elemental powers would work again.

Ten to twenty five soldiers. Certainly not as many Hero Characters as Thalyssra had.

Bwomsamdi seemed to want Rastakhan dead. Which might have been a factor in all of this.

Jaina wasn’t in the Rastakhan fight either. Genn was and 25 of the alliance finest heroes i guess.
