This PvP gearing system

If you stopped doing warfronts and do nothing but pvp, you will get all upgrades this season.

I played this game since it first launched years ago then took a break when blizz decided to nerf classes into the ground for no reason and started gimping on the pvp rewards. Played Rift for a couple years, the rewards wer great, the PVP was awesome, was everything a PVPer could want. Then all of a sudden they decide they wanted to make pvpers PVE for gear, took away vendors, took away any progression a pvper had with PVP. Long story short, Rift lost hundreds of thousands of players, the game was a ghost town and still to this day will not admit any wrong doing because their developer was a PVE guy who crapped on PVPers, basically threw us away. So I come back thank god there were still vendors, some progression, not as good but at least something. And here we are now again with Blizz doing the same thing as Rift forcing us to PVE for decent rewards or forced into Arena or RBG where its a mindscrew just to find dependable non elitist people to play with. I feel this decision to PVE for PVP in wow will get the same results as rift, I hope BLizz does whats right and gives us a bone, because even the stupid crappy loot boxes that drop have been nerfed…

Lol what? 2.1k rated people are literally the top 10% of the population. The other 90% of the people are going to get upgrades by doing warfronts or lfg the darkshore world boss.

Maybe if you count upgrades as “upgrades from the past season but still worse gear than most current afk achievable gear”… Sounds like an incentive to do PvP.

Quite the opposite actually!

I haven’t had motivation to que this season really as unfortunately all 5 of my arena buddies quit due to the many reasons discussed. Hence my frustration on this forum.

I’m still enjoying leveling alts, wpvp and awesome guilds as I always have. Hence I’m still subbed for now.

It’s only the competitive side of me that is extremely unhappy at the moment. I’m not content, as many aren’t, with the gearing direction they’ve chosen (pruning too but they’re kinda slowly reversing that). I want to love that side of the game too, as it’s my favorite, and I want them to listen and improve. Hence I’m posting more than I ever did (lots of positive stuff on other forms). I want them to fix stuff.

Therefore I’m in here arguing with you every time you come in here to tell someone they’re wrong for being unhappy! Blizzard will never fix anything if they ignore these threads just because you come in to them all and tell people you’re perfectly happy

Sometimes we don’t get the stats we want but we just have to deal with it. Just go with the best option and have fun. Some of us go 2-3 weeks without an upgrade. It’s not a big deal.

because your gear was already better than that of doing casual pvp for rewards.
You didn’t touch rated pvp at all.

dont expect to be able to play casually and have the power of those who play at a competitive high rating. that’s ludicrous

I play so casually I have no idea how I have the gear I do. No guild, don’t play ah, my professions are a mess, I have no alts, and I constantly play with strangers… I have fun though, gearing seems ok to me.

Exactly. This game is meant to be fun. Sure, gearing may be the only fun for some but pvp is still the same, fight the other team over objectives and try to win.

They should have a vendor for rated pvp play only. Conquest as currency. That way the randoms can continue to have their fun.

My main gripe at this point outside of the DW and main hand Off thing is that new people literally have to grind through crap gear for a long time to get caught up at 500 cp per piece while Wqs and other easy content reward much higher much faster.

I can relate to everything you wrote out, wrath-mop best wow.

Friends come and go because the game is dumbed down and loot system is terrible.

Everyone just wants the piece of old wow they loved and then play this version, only thing I’m finding ok is casual game + some mythic dungeons(legion was better) and raiding.

Even bfa mythic + is forced to take longer because they increased the amount of trash you need to kill and skipping isn’t needed.

Miss 15min runs in legion and now they are 20-30mins.

Gotta go fast!

All the “fake-bloating” of content to give the illusion of content is irritating. Instead of adding relevant content, adding trash to a dungeon to make it last longer, gating content to keep people playing longer is sad. However, I still don’t blame the developers since they’re playing with the hands they’re dealt. With corporate demanding results faster with less resources, we end up with product of less quality. I’m excited for Classic and I wouldn’t mind a Wrath server…

Not only are the dungeons more full of time consuming trash pulls, they give us that beauty Underrot. That place is not only crammed with trash pulls, a good portion of that trash never drops anything. I want to puke a little every time that stupid dungeon pops.

Yup this crap system has burned out the competitive spirit in me.

I’m discouraged from playing with lower rated friends because I’ll be getting crappier gear.
I’m discouraged from playing fun alts, specs and comps because I’ll be getting crappier gear.
I’m discouraged from playing PvP because the fastest way to get the right traits, AP and residium is through pve.
I’m discouraged from playing fun casual content because I’m always hunting that RNG drop with better secondaries or a war/Titan forge.

I know the super casual in you doesn’t understand half of what I said above (we’ve argued about all of them). However those that are competitive have a drive to get an edge and a drive to win.

So instead of being like my 4 arena buddies, who unsubbed for the reasons above, I’m going to play the parts of the game that I enjoy! I’m going to be a super casual! Level alts, hang out with guildies and maybe redip my toes in pve because it’s easier for equivalent gear (and my casual friends from wod do that instead of arenas now so they’ll drag me along).

Sad day for arenas when 10+ casual players and 5+ serious ones just stop playing it.

God… Underrot. I reluctantly do that on Mythic because it always seems that at least 1 person who joins, does not know what to do.

Yea the casuals are the only friends that have remained lol… It’s actually decent content in that sense so that’s what I’m going to swap over to as well… Mostly just hang out with guildies and mess around in wpvp while in discord.
