The one positive is that the last boss is all mechanics! The tank and I literally 2 manned the final boss from 75% health because the dps wouldn’t get out of the goop lol. Took forever but it was doable! (It was an 8+ too!)
I don’t really don’t think you can point the blame at corporate types. the push for more content faster is due to all the players who rush through content and then unsub as soon as they’re done. look at the end of legion, if this had been like expacs in the past we would have had months or even possibly a year of 7.3. while a lot of players would stay subbed for that a lot won’t, they are the reason for beta for azeroth and the rushed half finished content, blizz is trying to throw crap out the door fast enough to keep them subbed.
This game is all about fun after all.
I do only because I have personal experience with it. I get it… the shareholders want something from their investments but rushing things, reducing the amount of quality assurance, hiring cheap help and budget developers doesn’t work yet companies still try it.
I don’t blame some of the experienced help for leaving. They’re working with what they have and getting pooped on by the community. What satisfaction is that?
the problems IMO are more with implementation than goal, which is the responsibility of middle management.
I can definitely agree that middle management plays a large role as well. It also goes into the whole “budget employee” thing. I know of several companies who do the same thing.
Yup, unfortunately it’s not nearly as fun as the competitive PvP parts of the game… I’ll just satisfy my competitive side with some DotA/rocket league.
Ah well hopefully I’ll have fun with the other stuff long enough that they fix the issues before I get bored!
None of this is true though. You can be competitive in whatever content you can do. If all you do is random bgs the gear you get from it is perfectly fine. If you’re a 2k player you get gear, that is on par with heroic raid gear and mythic 10s, for being in the 2k bracket and you’ll be fine. You’re making it sound like you’re some former rank 1 that can no longer push cuz of gear.
Right? Gear is so meaningless compared to other expansions that it’s almost like we’re all geared, playing what we want without really worrying about the gear grind.
Except when you’re 15+ ilvls, no RNG maledict and a trait down on someone? In PvP gear should max out and it shouldn’t be RNG. Aka wod/mop gearing.
No that’s not what I’m saying. I’m a 2.1k player. Nothing crazy and I got excellent gear for that. If I play with my super casual friends in the 1400-1600 range though? The gear is pretty trash ilvl, still RNG and an entire season with only 2 traits.
In wod/mop I enjoy playing arenas with these casuals because they’re chill and wanting to learn a few things. Then I could take my gear into bgs/wpvp and compete with anyone. This has been completely deincentived thanks to this gearing system.
Lol for a super casual maybe tell that to the arena forum players who don’t have RNG maledict or tank trinkets.
Lily isn’t super casual. She gets it.
Yea she’s one voice and I think she misunderstood what I said…
Check out the arena forums and half the people in this thread. They get it.
I don’t agree with trinkets being used for pvp, they have always caused issues. But at least now you actually get it from pvp.
What you mean? The gear from 1400-1600 is better than lfr and on par with normal raiding. Which is pretty good for a rating you can get in an hour or 2.
Did you know there was high participation in arena this last season? People who go to 2400 and glad didn’t sit rating like they did in the past, they were able to que with their low rating friends and help them push, I saw a lot of glads in the 1800s helping out buddies or just casually queing. So idk what’s stopping you from playing with your casual friends now if its even easier to do so than what it was in past expansions .
So you’re saying you can’t do that right now? You can get a decent ilvl from just doing random bgs, throw in some wq, conquest cap and warfronts rewards in there and most casual bgers are atleast 380ish. You’re not gonna run into many full elite or mythic raiding geared people with 400 ilvl. And that’s one thing that’s good about this system to me, is that you don’t really have to farm gear, you just pick what content you like to play and the gear will come to you from there.
1400-1600 gives pretty trash gear, it’s not about how long it takes to get there. Normal/heroic raiding and high level mythics all give 10-15+ ilvl higher gear and is significantly easier to do than getting 2.1… hence the two casual guilds I play with do more raiding than actual PvP (in wod they literally never raided).
Aye there was (until the good ol 8.1 anyways). It was also the first season of the expansion? The first season is always bumping. You’ll see less and less as the expansion goes on. Now whether it will get later legion levels of low, who knows?
There was lots of sitting post 8.1… there is incentive to keep queing with war/Titan admittedly though. Got to keep playing that lottery.
Well literally none of my 2k ish friends wanted to mess around with friends/alts/off specs (it’s not just about the friends! Though they’re important too) because you were missing out on gear. Like what’s the incentive to que these things that didn’t exist in the past? Why would they que with low friends now but didn’t in wod/mop? Maybe I’m not seeing something… (Missing out in 10ilvls of gear feels bad even if it’s not the biggest deal).
Not really? It feels significantly worse to play on my mw than it does this guy. Even post sham nerfs and pre mw nerfs when crane was busted I found it much harder to climb. Now I’m not great at mw, but I was literally at 1600 compared to 2.1. He had 1/3 traits, 30 less ilvl in gear and 3/4 the wrong stats.
It honestly felt worse playing him in competitive than it did playing my alts in honor gear in wod.
Someone watched Bellular gaming and decided to start quoting him outright.
Do PVE and PVP to maximize your chances of getting high ilvl gear.
roll eyes
No the gear from 1600s is on par with normal raid. And as for casual players raiding these days, it’s probably because its easier than ever to get raid ready these days. In legion and bfa high ilvl gear drop from everything, world quests and even a mythic 0 can drop a titanforge piece. And from my experience as a pvper I have raided more this expansion and in legion than any other expansion just because I have raid ready gear from pvp and casual stuff like lfr or world questing.
The only people who were sitting were people at 3k mmr. I even saw dillypoo post on the arena forums that he was willing to play with a disc priest of any rating. Even a rank 1 player was helping casuals out. If you weren’t pushing for rank 1 there is no point of sitting ratings, your title stays with you all season once you get it, that’s why you saw a lot of glads que alts or que with their low rated friends.
That’s weird cuz I experienced the exact opposite. In fact my healer friend that I pushed glad with on the last 2 weeks, was disc all season long but then decided that his rsham would be better healer for our comp so on the last 2 weeks he picked up his 1700 cr with 360ilvl rsham and pushed glad with me.
The same with another friend who got bored of his ele shaman after they nerfed them, he switched to spriest at the last month of the season and still pushed glad. To me it seems easier than ever to just pick up an alt or undergeared character and just play them. Never did my friends say " I really want to play my rsham/spriest but I have to raid to farm gear first", they just pick up a new class and played it.
Maybe it’s just cuz you need more experience on your mw. I am the same way on my dh, I feel like I play dh alright and dh is an easy class to play but I always max out at 1800 rating on her, maybe if I practice more on her I would be better but I’m usually the type that just has 1 main for expansion and its always my lock, I don’t pay much attention to alts.
I wish I could like this 100 times…seems this post has shifted off into arena stuff though
This makes no sense… considering the gear issue
