This PvP gearing system

This actually isn’t such a bad idea. They could even unlock them piece by piece so you have to go through the conquest cap still. Could also make it account wide so when you get to the end, alts have a vendor.

System needs to be retroactive depending on what you get. You pick a mainhand weapon? You get an immediate cap for lets say 150-200 to ball park it to purchase an off hand weapon but only after you pick a main hand weapon. Same could have been done with off pieces. Once you get to ring it is 250 conquest per ring for the week. Guess that would have been to simple though

They are trolling

i wonder how much complaints about the gearing system would be overlooked if we weren’t limited to 1 piece per week from conquest.

Man, that is just ridiculous.

@OP

Here’s the thing, most average bg players are like this. They don’t care about what gear they get, how they get it, or when they get it as long as something comes.

The rest of us that do rated pvp don’t want the rng element, but it keeps people playing (and paying), plain and simple. Do you really think they believe it was ‘confusing’? It’s just an excuse.

Maybe what they can do is let gear remain random through random bg’s but give us a currency purchase gear system for rated games.

I thought I read somewhere that there is some catchup mechanic. I don’t have a link nor did I really commit it to memory (as I don’t do alts for the most part), but I thought I saw that.

Edit: Nevermind, I guess I misread this:

  • Spoils of War - To assist characters beginning their adventures in PvP, Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds now reward 50% bonus Conquest for the first 8 weeks of the Conquest schedule.

Seems a bit backwards, but OK. Looks like alts take it in the pants. Unless they mean “the first 8 bars” and not nailed down to a specific timeframe.

I am not sure who this mythical ‘average BG player’ is, but I don’t think you can claim to speak for most of them, just yourself.

I do not play rated, I am a casual scrub that loves random BG’s and WPvP, am I the ‘average BG player’? To me, the current system does not feel good. Getting random loot does not feel good. Grinding through endless weeks of non-upgrade gear does not feel good.

Don’t get your knickers in a twist. I hate the current system too. But you are probably in the minority. People like Juga are the majority. Blizz wants to keep you playing more, so you get rng gear.

This is a major UI design flaw, why should players have to look it up on a website? I never needed a website to tell me what gear a vendor had, I just looked at the list.

This has always been the case. Pve has always held back Pvp. But it wasn’t a problem when Pvp weapons had undesirable Pve stats like resilience.

All the 385 gear will be upgrades for you…

Not meaning to be argumentative, but when you make a blanket statement about what most other players experience, it takes away from what you are trying to say, especially if I do not agree with your assessment of most players.

I preferred having resilience and PvP power on pvp gear, but I can see the benefits of not having it as well. I doubt we will be getting that type of change (at least this xpac), and I am trying to explore ways to make the system still gate PvP gear while at the same time offer more of what a vendor gave us in terms of choice and control.

I know it’s not accurate. No blanket statement is, but I said it out of frustration. If there are enough players casual/hardcore alike that want vendors back, shouldn’t blizzard do something?

This is a case of pvp being an afterthought, just in case pve players get ‘tempted’ to do a shred of pvp.

I have yet to see a single person who isn’t hoping for an upgrade when they do things in this game.

Juga isn’t.

Every week I get an upgrade through this system.

Pretty sure you’re incorrect.

I have been playing this expansion from the beginning and the first piece of weekly upgrade gear was a two days ago. the word ‘Endless’ was hyperbolic for sure, but I had no upgrades for 23 weeks. 23. No upgrades since August, felt endless to me.
