This PvP gearing system

Jugga argues with everyone about PvP, and agrees with anything blizzard does mostly

There isnā€™t a gear issue.

The strategy is that for any topic that comes up if you argue in favour of blizzard you will technically never be wrong.

Watch, Iā€™ll do this in a few threads.

Link plzā€¦I want to see proof of sub 80k people wrecking

Lets see proof of those high geared players wrecking. I keep hearing gear matters, but Iā€™ve seen 130/140k hp heals carry teams

Not many around anymore since 370s drop commonly. Next time you see someone with low health watch their damage. If they arent an idiot they will do well.

Thatā€™s the thing with that boss, he is easy if people just know what to do, if they donā€™t, half the group ends up dead very quickly lol.

Yea but who raids normal? I think they downed normal well inside the first month. I went in with them on my undergeared monk, not knowing any of the fights and downed everything but mythrax/ghun (which they went back and cleared the same week). Heroic is a bit of a challenge but honestly probably still easier for them than hitting 1800. Mythic + (depending on the week) are also supremely easy, they were doing high level keys.

I guarantee you they were getting 10ish higher ilvl gear from pve than they would PvP.

Eh he semi sat his main (I believe he said ferals quit queing after mid season balance). I did see him say that for his alt though which is cool.

I could definitely see this which is cool. Never thought about this.

However the only people that this really applies to is the gladiators, they were the only ones that had to sit rating in mop/wod, so 1% of the population? The rest of us could que anytime with anyone and not worry about gear. I only ever had to hit 2k once for the mog (sounds similar to how title changes benefit glads now).

This was also doable in wod/mop? The catch up mechanic was amazingā€¦ It also doesnā€™t sound like theyā€™re playing alts/non comps/friends for fun? It sounds like fotm rerolling to push glad (no hate fotm is the best way to climb. Iā€™m talking about having 4-5 friends on (or in the case of WOD, a guild of 15) and queing up with whoever feels like it. Playing blood dk/hunter/rsham or warrior/rogue/disc, truly atrocious comps with average skilled players because we never had to worry about crashing rating and losing out on gear. We played anything/anytime/all season because why not? Now there is a reason not to, youā€™ll get worse gear if you consistently sit in the 1400 bracket. This applies to probably 90% of the population? The new system definitely benefits the gladiators, never said it didnā€™t.

Now I know some people will claim these people donā€™t deserve gear. I can see why people think this as well but all this would do is drop the bracket out from under the top players which isnā€™t a good thingā€¦ PvP should be about Skill>gear (like mop/wod) and the rewards should be about cosmetics/titles.

I feel pretty consistent on healersā€¦ Iā€™ve gotten 2.1 on rsham/rdruid/disc (all the ones Iā€™ve actually tried on). Iā€™ve tried on dps and I definitely struggle thereā€¦ Not out of reality though! Could be bad at itā€¦ Nik said he faced him and thought so :joy:

I usually do 2 but this expansion there was definitely only 1.

PS. Sorry for the essay. I feel pretty strongly about this

a lot of casuals. most people only do lfr and normals.

If you do arenas even if its just at 1400-1600, youā€™ll get the weekly piece from capping+ random drops+ something in your weekly chest. Youā€™re getting geared while pvping, it sounds like to me that you and your friends only pvped for the gear and not about getting better and getting into higher brackets.

you can get higher ilvl gear doing heroic raids and mythics 10+ but are you having fun? To me its not worth pveing for 10-15 more ilvl. With the scaling people with 10 ilvl on you arenā€™t that much more powerful.

The gearing should go
1600-1800 : 385
1800-2100 : 400
2100-2400 : 415
2400+ : 415 with higher chance to titanforge or higher chance to drop loot.

LFR, WQ players are sitting at ilvl 390 currently.
This system really provides for every type of active player.
Whatever way we choose to progress our characters will provide viable options.

I liked chasing a specific piece of gear each week. This doesnā€™t feel fun to me. It actually feels oppressive and communist.

how? lfr (bod) drops 370 and iirc wq donā€™t give you 385 gear until you are already 380+

Players that solely focus on ā€œCasualā€ areas of this game can reach item levels of 385-390+ currently. World quests, Emissaries, Weekly Boss, Warmode invasions, LFR etc.

I have gotten Titanforged 385 pieces (Blue Aspirant) from random Battlegrounds.
400+ seems to be the number for Titanforged epics, obtained from various casual methods.
It is just a matter of time that any active player will have these 400+ equipped IMO.

1-2 pieces of gear a week does not mean LFR players are running around at 390 already. to expand on this, iā€™m only 388 atm and i dontā€™ run into that many people with 200k hp or more in bgs. so i highly doubt your average lfr casuals are all running around with a full 390 ilvl. 390 items sure, but not the overall ilvl.

Where did I say average?
Players can obtain overall ilvl 380-390 without ever stepping foot in Rated, M+, Raiding or ā€œcompetitiveā€ areas of this game.
Staying ā€œCasualā€.

but they canā€™t get the mogs, titles, and achievements of rated/m+/raiding without actually doing that content. ilvl anymore is just a measure of character power, like horsepower rating on a car, it says nothing about the driver.

Indeed, with gear being so easily obtained players can focus on building other areas of the game they find entertaining/rewarding.
There is no roadblock to gearing options in BFA IMO.
Would you agree?

I agree with this but I still found Legion BGs with templates far better.

Raider,io
Toxic yolos.
Gatekeeping elitism.
Wipe anxiety.

most of the roadblocks to a good time in wow are the community itself. if you are stuck in LFR/LFG hell, even with the current gearing system you wonā€™t be seeing aotc or elite sets unless you buy a carry.
