This new expansion hates old people

Did they get rid of UI Scaling?

In FFXIV, almost everything in the UI can be resized on an individual basis - even windows such as the character panel, dressing room, and duty finder. That I think would be the best solution.

It’s still there, it’s just buried, rearranged, reworded and unable to be searched for by either “resize” or “ui”, it’s also counter-intuitive because what you end up doing is sizing your base UI up and then going back into Edit Mode to make everything that can be resized smaller.

Which is a lot compared to just allowing those things to be resized in Edit Mode also.

Just use a different UI the blizzard UI is terrible anyway.

With all these problems I think I’ll stay with my addons for a while.

That’s no good. It always was in a hard to notice spot, very easy to overlook a few times before you find it.

Will this addon be functional with the new UI?

You cannot use your add-ons in the beta is makes it so much worst… bartender 4was my best friend…I tried elvui…omg…great addon but it literally replaced the wow ui completely I did not feel comfortable about that. Leatrix plus/leatrix maps…also I use those…I was excited that maybe I could limit my add-ons…but oh well it doesn’t like it…hmmm.

OP could’ve been more specific.

better get the ol’ magnifying glass out OP.

And you have to remember their original players are getting old. Sure you want to try and stay hip with the new generations but don’t forget the people that have been with you from the beginning.

Back in my day icons were the size of a bus, and we liked it that way dammit!

Technically, that is true in WoW as well. It is just Blizzard doesn’t provided a UI to do for most things in game. But that is how custom UI addon’s do it, thru the code Blizzard already has to resize and move basically everything on the UI.

Oh man my guild is going to love me if this is the case lol

I am half blind and I can see and use the new UI. Go buy some glasses.

I think they also got rid of the map icon and now you’re supposed to click on the name of the zone you’re currently in to access the maps. That’s considerably less intuitive than having a map button on the UI.

I’ve been habitually hitting the M key to summon the map for as long as I can remember (I think as far back as Vanilla) but I get what you’re saying — it’s not very intuitive.

You should not have to use third party software to get things better but man with bartender I have never had trouble making things so i could see what is on my bars. size, placing etc.

Your screen shot is nice, but the text is WAY TOO SMALL. I tried adjusting the new ui in the beta/ptr, but was totally unable to adjust the text size to be remotely readable like my current setup is in today’s retail version.

Many aspects of things either from the past or recently, not to mention upcoming changes, are not intuitive. The operative word here is intuitive, as far as I am concerned.

Too often, even this far into SL, I end up asking someone in my guild (who also happens to be a UI addon developer) where I can find something. More often than not he points me to an addon rather than the native UI setup options.
