This new expansion hates old people

Expand it to a full size window and it’s not as small as it seems just seeing it in this smaller window.

Which text are you referring to? Maybe I can help when I get home later.

Let me get this straight, they spend little time to add good things, but manage to spend time to screw a good system up? Is this clown world"?

Dude, I complain about this all the time. I got a 50in Samsung TV because its getting harder to see crap.

That said… Blizzard makes to many special effects on grounds where the boundary of safe and dead are overly fuzzy and hard to make out. Games like GuildWars2 on the other hand make sharp clearly defined zones of safe or dead.

Also their color blind modes are a joke and make things worse. I simply can not see dark red on dark grey floors. Or that stupid purple fated crap from M+ when its mixed in on some of the Night Fae spell poo on the ground.

Also targeting is a f’n nightmare, so many many mobs it can be a challenge to even click the right one with the mouse at times. I find myself for almost all boss fights having to look straight down from the top zoomed all the way out just to make sure I can target and see everything possible…

And… THE TEXT… I wished they would let us change the text. The default game text isnt the most clear to people with vision problems. I can not for the life of me not understand how you are not able to change the text font or size…

Aka; Blizzard Ent.

You can’t scale individual pieces of the UI with this revamp?

Lmao are you joking?

Unless I missed something on the PTR, I do not believe so… You can scale the entire UI and move things. The only things I noticed you could change the size of was the world map and the action bars… But not sure on other things like the Buff / Debuff panels or character panels or cast bar… But I will have to double check. All of which doesnt actually change any font sizes that I have noticed.

/facepalm

That’s pretty pathetic on blizzards end.

Depending on your definition of old.

I’m 50 and can’t see without my glasses all my life.

Playing off and in beta and actualy think the edit for toolbars is too big no matter how I adjust it but not overly concerned about it.

Yup, I am legally blind with progressive decline and its so disheartening to not be able to read anything in this new “modern” UI look. I wouldn’t be bothered as much if there were text size options. Thats not to say anything of the multitudes of many other problems I have playing the game already for various reasons. I broke down crying when I installed the beta just to realize that I could read nothing and there were not a single option for text sizes.

You know its kind of ironic, in this day and age where there is the most visibility on disabilities and such that there probably ever has been and still these video game companies are putting out gates that have little to no accessibility instead choosing to lean entirely on “sleek modern and stylish” HUD and UIs.

I cannot imagine it’d be difficult at all to at least implement a text option for tooltips and such and it seems so obvious but so…completely forgotten and looked over. I understand im not the…target audience but I don’t think that justifies discrediting folks like me because we’re not the majority standard consumers.

I haven’t tried Beta or PTR. But if it’s as bad as you say, I am glad I am waiting and haven’t pre-purchased. I plan to decide in the pre-patch. I keep my browser at 125%, I have terrible vision, supposed to wear glasses but they give me migraines and aren’t comfortable so I never do. I usually just make stuff big enough so I can see it. But I don’t want everything huge

LOL they wasnt even going to add Snapping to Grid options into the new UI until the entire beta and ptr player based made a fuss about it…

I just want more stuff to do in a new expansion, and sure some changes are nice, but I hate feeling like I’m having to learn my way around a whole new game since Blizz thinks it has to reinvent the wheel in a dozen different ways.

I just played with the new ui for about 2 hours they just freaking rearranged stuff…you need to hit edit then another box comes up with that specific edit for that square…I finally found how to hid that darn art bar and the stance and pet bar you need to click on them to separate them make the grid to it’s lowest level…then edit barby bar…the only thing I could not do is .edit the micro menu bar and the bag bar…but dang I am glad I figured it out…

yeah… now WoW is Firefox.

But I can’t argue if this is a negative, we’ll just see the expansion trailer when it starts on Nov 28th.

Meanwhile, I stay quiet and play WotLK and finish the fourth season of this expansion.

I dont know edit mode is grayed out for me on the PTR

A new beta build just came out. They have added a scaling slider for unit frames. You can now scale them up to 200%.

Happy now?

Nope!

Still doesn’t address my issue. Though it seems there is a very painful stupid solution, which is to make everything bigger with the UI slider in Graphics and then manually shrink almost everything back down to what it was. :stuck_out_tongue:

Spending 30 seconds is painful?

I have no idea how you measure time, but resizing action bars, chat bars, minimap, all the other editable boxes on the screen takes far more than 30 seconds.
