How do you propose they do it right?
By adding warmode, cross-faction everything, etc. and basically turn Classic into retail?
There is a major difference between server community and the entirety of the classic population.

We’re not “communicating and interacting” the way the anti-LFD crowd want to force us to.
I mean, I guess we could all zone into a dungeon and before the first pull introduce ourselves, class, and our hopes and future dreams. Then we can all sing Kumbaya before the tank pulls. Am I doing it right?
You forgot the part where you give them 500 gold to join their dungeon group.
Oh, that’s right. My bad.
Oh, I remember. Quite clearly. A bunch of lying liars lied to themselves and Blizzard about how much they loved to quest slowly from 1 to 60 and how wonderful they all were while doing so. Classic and boosting proved that was a lie.
By banning you and every straw man you build for a start.
For one thing stop trying to force people to talk if they don’t want to, extroverts don’t seem to understand not everyone wants to be super chatty all the time and that that’s not a problem.
More importantly nothing about running dungeons actually does in fact force people to socialize. The average run I do isn’t any more social than the average LFD run I do, why? Because as I said nothing about running well known dungeons requires any discussion.
Funny how XIV has many social aspects but they too have LFD and you can actually friend peeps cross serve.
It didn’t harm socializing at all but most here are tripping about this holy community for some reason LOL.
I don’t wanna talk to no one, I just wanna run dungeons. Not interested in y’alls personal crap, just kill the boss and go away lol.
Yeah this keeps being brought up, but FFXIV is designed very differently from WoW, it is a narrative-centric game. It’s basically a numbered FF game with MMO aspects tacked on, to be frank.
It is a poor point of comparison.
Yeahhhh but they also don’t treat each other like hot garbage like some of you folks like to do at a constant basis. This community is terrible. The little I have to do to interact with anyone the better, like sorry lol.
Also can’t compare FF14 with or without LFD because it never existed without in the first place.
I’ve played plenty of FF14 and people weren’t talking any more in dungeons than they are on WoW LFD.
The socializing on FF14 stems from many other things such as the very active Roleplay community that is boosted by the housing system and other system that makes FF14 a prime game for Roleplaying.
That’s a separate issue that I think everyone (almost) can agree needs to be fixed.
The way people treat each other in WoW is on average pretty poor.
Weird it’s almost like when the game provides actual reasons to socialize people will do so regardless of LFD. And when the game doesn’t people won’t regardless of not having LFD.
Not sure what you’re trying to get at here.
If FF14 didn’t have LFD, we can only speculate what would happen to the social aspect.
One could think that having to speak to other people in order to do the trials, raids and such would improve social cohesion.
Case in point: Blue mage.
TBCC doesn’t have LFD and people don’t socialize. It’s already been proven lacking the tool in WoW doesn’t make a great community or promote social interaction.
Just like when they fixed batching the pretty much universal response was “about time”.
There is no server community in WoW now. All there is, is guildies and some people outside of the guild you ran an instance with. There used to be a semblance of a community a long time ago, but it was mostly knowing people outside your guild that could fill-in in a pinch if you had an open spot. That’s the only community I remember.
I don’t recall anyone outside of my guild that I actually spoke to about things other than the game.
People socialize, it may be different from original TBC, but saying that people don’t socialize is just false. Class and server discords exists because people are social enough to speak with one another.
It hasn’t been proven because it hasn’t happened on Classic and if you look at what happened in the past, you can come up with whatever conclusion you want to back up your own argument because none of it can be properly proven, it’s all conjecture and anecdotal evidence at best.
I could point you to Blue Mage on FF14 where people have set up entire discord servers just for Blue Mage, websites have been built for it, people organize trials and dungeons for Blue Mage content because Blue Mage isn’t available on the LFD of FF14, there is no such level of socializing for regular dungeons or trials outside of savage raiding.
Explain that to me, how come people have formed communities and social groups around Blue Mage content when not provided with a way to bypass the requirement for socializing but haven’t done the same, at least not anywhere close to the same extent, for more popular content like Heaven-on-high that provides you with an LFD tool?
WTS dungeon boost!! x 100
WTB dungeon boost!! x100
Must be preserved at all cost.
That is one hell of a strawman, I’m sure if you ask anyone against LFD, they’d almost all be in favor of getting rid of boosting.
