Which is why the claims of “muh community” are BS. It was always about protecting boosting and GDKP profits.
I just started leveling my priest as holy and have been dungeon grinding…no one ever talked in these groups…how is this different without LFD?
There is a very massive difference between LFR and RFD. Random Dungeons are not 25+ ppl in story mode. The challenge of a random team of healer/tank/3 dps means that you experience, for better or worse, different teams of classes to complete an ‘encounter’. The game was made without the need for specific classes in any specific dungeon. Can certain classes make things easier? Sure! But that’s part of the whole idea. New experiences keep things fresh, rather than running the same crap with the same comps. The whole “people should have to run to dungeons” is funny too. Should they have to run to the battlegrounds too? lol. The game shouldn’t be intentionally forcing a time waste just to do things like pvp or random dungeons. Some people don’t even want to quest. Who are any of us to take away from another’s enjoyment of the game? You don’t like raiding? Don’t do it! You only like dungeons and don’t like questing? Just run dungeons. Anyone with a problem with a queue system has a low understanding of how valuable one’s time is.
TLDR-- LFR should never be added, but leave RFD in the mix. It’ll swell the server pops with the people only trying to do things like dungeons and it will impact the bottom line of the “boost” companies. People won’t feel the NEED to pay for boost runs because they can just queue up and run some dungeons to level rather than running here and there talking to w/e NPC for a quest. Some of us truly don’t enjoy simply questing as a requirement to level or trying to take an hour just to get a group if you aren’t a tank or healer. RFD would also encourage more tanks and healers since they don’t have to suffer leveling as a non-damage dealer, it takes soooo many consecrates to level as hpally…
Is this meant as constructive criticism?
Guilds dont mind dragging undergeared guildies through dungeons, whats the difference?
The tank can charge you gold
Mage boosts still a thing
Blizzard can sell more 70 boosts
I’m actually against the removal of LFD but …
Most of the forum community are for the inclusion of LFD at some stage in the WoTLK release cycle - self included.
The biggest opponent to it is … Blizzard. The argument against it was floated by … Blizzard.
So, my take out here is that you think Blizzard are selfish and/or dumb? k …
You’re arguing against the wrong people - the players aren’t pushing this change, Blizzard are.
Yeah they do, otherwise people wouldnt want LFD.
You are not wrong; but blizzard isn’t really engaging in the conversation so…
Some of my favorite rdf encounters have been when a healer or tank bails but we continue. Seeing a group of randos come together to finish something while at a disadvantage is really neat.
The last time I did Mana Tombs a DPS left at the last boss, here I am fishing my way to the top, see their advertisment and whisper them “inv”.
The party lead makes it very clear that only the last boss is alive, I tell them I don’t care as I only wanted the last boss. You see, I’m an alchemist, an alchemist with every recipe both for potions and transmutes and the last thing I needed to get was the potion that drops off of the last boss of Mana Tombs, the Major Frost Protection Potion.
I teleport to Shattrath, get on my mount, fly to Auchindoun and enter Mana Tombs.
They ask if I’d like a summon but I refuse, I make my way to them in the last room where the boss was, we kill all the mobs in the room and face the boss. After we kill the boss I couldn’t believe my eyes, I see that the potion has dropped. I hoped that I was the only alchemist in the group and hit need, I win. I learn. I’m now complete.
This is my most recent dungeon where I had something memorable happen…
It’s so dishonest when people build a strawman argument like this… this reminds me of certain high profile internet Christians telling atheists what they believe and build up a strawman in order to easily knock it down and claim victory.
I could just as easily do the same to you. I could tell you that the reasons you want RDF is so that you can just afk and watch certain adult videos while you wait for a dungeon.
I’m currently on the side of removing RDF, but I’m open to the possibility that I’m wrong and the tool could ultimately be beneficial to the game. I advocate for a wait-and-see approach. Wrath is a new expansion and it launched without the tool back in the day, so it isn’t unreasonable to launch classic with the tool absent for the time being. Yes, it is technically running on the last class balance patch of the expansion, but that happened with all classic launches, yet features and content had a steady rollout.
Let’s wait and see what the community at large really thinks. Polls on here and on reddit don’t really give you the full picture.
LFD Is a tool to prevent people from abusing what they’re abusing right now in groups.
if lfd will prevent “people asking for gold to join, reserve all items, sell items, help filling groups, lower boosts, give better reward to drive everyone to use it” then LFD Is pretty much 100% better to have than not having it and leaving the current **** happens.
MMO-RPG games are meant to be played all the time for many reasons, But you anti LFD people wants to just get what you need then afk in towns.
Tanks can and will still sell instant queues, but yeah.
They did back in the day. Some even insisted on being paid once the dungeon popped, then bailed as soon as they got paid.
People will find ways to be scum in either scenario. What matters is finding a way to reduce their ability to do so.
Over 100 likes. Nice.
You can make up any anecdotal evidence you want. I was there. I did hundreds and hundreds of dungeons in late Wrath. I never saw or heard of what you’re describing. And even if tanks did do that (and they certainly will now)…so what? At least Dungeon Finder gives players another option besides paying to do a dungeon.
I heard of it. I never witnessed it and I never spoke to anyone who had it actually happen to them. It was always third-hand info at best. I do have to say by that point I was either the tank, or I was healing my brother’s tank so that naturally would have insulated me from those things.
I never paid for a tank or accepted money for tanking.
Bruh you just contradicted yourself…
I’ll just do way less dungeons without RDF…once I have what I need it’s too inconvenient to them any more.
