I was a total noob back then, both to the game itself and Warcraft lore in general. LFD got me invested in the game. If WotLK had been anything like TBC Classic, I probably would have quit a long time ago.
Oh I wasn’t aware that Wrath magically fixed low pop realms. Oh did it fix people playing in off hours? Did it fix dps vs tank/healer shortages?

Yeah, it’s called Dungeon Finder.
Well Blizz deserves a lot of praise when they do things right. It’s like a puppy you want to give positive reinforcement so they can make other good decisions just like it. Curious about the dual spec nerf too (shoutouts to all the fantastic and convincing arguments that said that was going to happen that mirror the arguments being used here).

I remember I liked LFD when it came out as it let me do the dungeons no one wanted to do for the first time. Sure I used to do other dungeons by joining/forming groups manualy but I joined WoW in mid TBC on a smaller server. People didn’t want to do dungeons like Ulduam, Sunken Temple, some of the Diremaul Wings anymore. I think I tried once to get a group going for Sunken temple in TBC and after two hours I got one person intrested for 15 min before they just gave up.
LFD let me see these places for the first time. (Oh yes I also knew what guilds were. I had joined many. Kind of ping ponged around. My early days I had many kinds of issues going around but still people just wanted to do the leveling dungeons to get to TBC and later Wrath before the dungeon finder came out.)
Wrong. In OG WotLK I was able to use badges I earned from spamming LFD to buy T10. More proof you didn’t play back then
I’ve already stated rdf gave badges in wotlk. In retail badges aren’t a thing. So rdf can’t give them. That doesn’t mean the rdf system isn’t there, it just gives a different reward more in lime with the current retail expansion.
it was in at Patch 3.3.0 and if they start on the design of 3.3.5 it should be in,
Yep, congrats you figured out why we have all these threads on it
Tell me what patch did tbcc launch with?
Now did it launch with sunwell open? Maybe guild banks?
Or maybe full lrofession options?
Maybe all the dailies were available on launch?
The list goes on. And the answer is no, they were not available at launch of tbcc.
We saw the same thing with classic.
What’s that? They did not release everything at launch with classic and tbcc even though both used the end patch? It’s almost like there is a predictable pattern there isn’t it…
And blizzard officially accepted some changes, after the players cried for it. Well some changes is here. Suck it up and play or find another game to play. The choice is yours.
No, they chose to remove it.
Some changes?
Hmmm…
Oh I wasn’t aware that Wrath magically fixed low pop realms. Oh did it fix people playing in off hours? Did it fix dps vs tank/healer shortages ?
It made the game FAR more alt friendly than tbc was. Which in turn helped people be able to level a tank and be relevant on that tank, or healer exc. This also caused more people on low pop realms to be playing their alts and their mains, which made the realm feel more alive, and because people had more characters to maintain, rhey played more, which resulted in more people playing for those off hours.
The changes from tbc to wotlk in and of themselves effected the issues you stated in a way that benefited them. You are trying to give the credit of all of those changes to rdf and rdf alone. Rdf isn’t the God sent blessing you are trying to make it out to be. There is a reason I am going from 1 main character who is geared and raiding in tbcc to 1 main and 2 alts doing that for wotlkc. And its not rdf.
And those 2 alts will be tanks.
You’re right. The choice is ours, and we a choosing to voice our opinions just as you are. Suck it up or find another game to play.
one is game play style one is dungeons and content access… (but you then do agree it does needs added at some time even if it’s when the ICC drops).
well seems this is one change more players are not asking for (it’s removal so suck up the threads about it).
but you then do agree it does needs added at some time even if it’s when the ICC drops
I never saidbit needs to be added. I said if it is added it should be when ICC opens up.
Fully geared t6 tank and I’ve been denied to 10+ groups this morning, the community wants paladins I guess. Heartwarming.
Thats certainly part of it. Nobody wants to have to carry someone’s 5th alt.
Meanwhile, everyone talks about how easy the game is.
But doesn’t want to carry a badly geared player. Interesting. Guess games not that easy after all.
OP, is spot on. People who play this game are very self centered, and don’t care about anyone but themselves. Players talk about community and social aspect of the game, but it’s really just. “I got mine, fu, buddy”.
The classic community in it’s current form needs saving from itself. The progression issues are only going to get worse in wrath if they don’t do something to fix it.
Either you have a group in game already, or prepare to spend gold for every little thing.
The solution is simple. Play with people on your level.
Stop expecting pumpers to carry you. You may need to hunt around a little for a guild at your progression level so you can work together on stuff. The good news is that generally speaking there’s more of you than there are the uber-tryhards… it’s not as slanted as it was back in the day because most who’ve returned for classic were already decent players before… but casuals are certainly still the mainstream WoW audience.
P.S. all of that^ AND Blizzard should still make a better LFG tool so that the PROCESS of searching is less of a pain.

I like how deep down almost everyone can agree on this issue.
I like how deep down almost everyone can agree on this issue.
Especially how the current version is nothing but a spam contest. I think only the couple belligerent trolls are in favor of keeping the spamfest alive. And I doubt it’s even what they really want anyways.

They did. It was added in 2009 during Wrath.
I want to say that in past week during my finding dungeon adventure, i have zero socializing with anyone, most my groups are either formed by “LFG MatchMaker TBC” where my message was sent automatically, and before i gets that addon? I was just using same macro for advertising, whispering.
but i have to say that during my dungeon gameplay, the only people i found good atmosphere in socializing with? was those people in blues who have recently played & we didn’t even talk or say a word not until we got inside the dungeon and started to chat, no one talks as being in group while still forming or while not inside dungeon, at this point having a tool to teleport you to the dungeon is far more better in term of socializing and having a tool to make those new players or casuals or whoever able to meet each other and interact that’s more good for socializing than letting people never see a dungeon during leveling and not be able to find any dungeon at max level due the spam and priority.
so gatekeeping them out is fine? You see how this is bad for the game if these classic players you speak for don’t want new players?
VERY antisocial take.
The samy people that are crying about their community are the ones driving people out of it.
